  1. Yeah, I wasn't too worried about it though they are still worth around $250 as people pay for the Rockford name, but with such a small amp I'm not worried about repair. I'm more worried about making sure it's the amp and not the headunit. Would suck ass to pay $500 for a new bigger and better amp to find out my 2 day old headunit took a shit.
  2. That would cause no power whatsoever to go through the amp? I thought the usual issue was just engine noise in the RCAs with a blown pico. Causing something to ht the RCAs would have done what exactly? Grounded them out or something maybe? Blowing out the preouts?
  3. Gonna bump this For any other opinions before I impulse buy a new amp that I can't afford.
  4. That wire is sexy as fawk. Will be shooting you a pm on roll pricing.
  5. Tuning wont have any change...only size of the enclosure and size of the ports (length and width) effect tuning. Was gonna add it up for you, but you forgot your depth.
  6. Well I tossed in my zuki 4 channel and its working just fine using the same RCAs just pushing a couple speakers. Loud as fuck too btw. So that leads me to the question, can the preouts go bad individually, or if one set goes out they all go out? I used the front channel rcas for the test instead of sub although now that I think of it I should have just tried a 60 hz tone again using the sub outs. I did use my iphone and a headphone set of RCAs and got nothing out of the sub or rockford. Im guessing the jolt of the bump knocked something loose in the RF that is causing it to not get a signal. For a month or so its had a loose RCA jack (the red one) and maybe it finally broke its connection to the board? I couldnt figure out how the hell to take the amp apart to see what the problem might be past popping the side panel mostly off. So it looks like its probably my sub amp, UNLESS only the sub preout went out and I buy a new amp for nothing. Just fuckin awesome time for shit to break. If its just my sub amp thats gone bad, you guys know why the fuck its automatically sending sub frequencies to my speakers? The speakers are currently hooked up to the built in HU amplifier. I have it set for 80 hz for the mids yet they are still playing down to 50 hz and below with no way to set a subsonic.
  7. I would, but would really rather not have to completely re soder a new harness on. I may be able to test the amp using someone elses car.
  8. I'm gonna try another set of RCAs, but is it sad I'm almost hoping it's the amp? Excuse for more power. Sadly I'm thinking it's the headunit though. The amp powers on fine btw and everything else on the hu seems to be working perfectly.
  9. I have a hard time seeing 2 18" btls only doing a 146 unless their install/box is shit. Even on only 3500 watts. Decent score though guy.
  10. Did check the voltage at preouts which was around 1v on the tone. RCAs weren't reading quite 1v but close. If it's a 4v preout deck, I'm assuming somethings wrong with it. As I said, idk why a bump on the road would cause this, but everything was working perfect and it seems to still be. If the deck is even playing 1v the amp should still be playing, not sending the rear speakers the 60 hz tone instead. I never hot switched the RCAs or anything either. Just working for a couple days, hit a bump, now somethings fucked.
  11. Little update...ran a 60 hz test tone through my deck and just stuck my dmm leads into the preouts, + inside and - on the shield, at almost max volume I'm getting only 1v and through the RCAs about .7-.9v...does these mean my cd players already fucked? Why would it do this, anyone know? I've got subwoofer set to on but it's sending all sub frequencies to my speakers. What would cause all this? Something just knocked loose in the deck? Or is it just not sending voltage through the RCAs because of some setting I need to change and my amp is the problem? I'm confused as fuck and getting pissed off. Nothing ever works right.
  12. Just installed my 9887 I got from a guy on here installed sunday and it's been working great. Sub sounds better, highs sound better, and I have a better power draw going from 1v preouts to 4v. My issue is I'm on my way to work this morning and hit a small bump on te highway. Nothing crazy, just one that you definitely noticed. My sub stops playing almost instantly after, and my rear 6x9s start playing the sub's frequency, distorting like crazy. I've since, while on break, have checked all connections on the wiring harness, radio and amp fusing, switched RCA sides (using only 2 RCA connections on a 4 channel RCA). I am stumped what is causing it. Amp is not in protect and is getting power, nothing is unplugged. Sub is measuring correctly at .7 ohms. One RCA connection on y amp is lose mind you, and I'm not sure if that could be it, but I also tried testing the RCA voltage from the headunit (dmm positive to RCA prong, negative to shield, dmm set to ac) and got no reading. I may have done the RCA test wrong, so I'll try it again. But as far as it looks, everything is fine and the headunits covers are set fine. Could my preouts have gone out? Or maybe I did the RCA test wrong and the RCAs are bad or my amp input RCAs are bad. Any help is appreciated.
  13. Unless you plan on going with more power, i'd stick with XLs. The XLs will take that power and then some and you wont have to worry about pushing them to thermal or mechanical limit. Im only doing 3 18" lvl 5s and plan on using 2 9ks if not some SD or stetsoms. Also, with that space, you've probably got the room for 4 18s...problem is going to be your height. 2 18s on top of eachother take up alot of space, so hopefully you've got almost 40" of height or you may be in trouble and may need to clamshell. With 4 XL 18s, id shoot for 25ish cubes and I hear the XLs like alot of port, so shoot for 17-19 per cube. That port takes up so many cubes so damn fast.
  14. :werd_msword: :werd_msword: Thats probably going to be my plan.
  15. Which would probably put alot more stress on the electrical causing more drop I'd assume. That's why I am a fan of the 9k. This thing still does rated though, so no reason to worry about it.
  16. They release what happened? Just lose control or couldnt pull out of the stunt? Family is in our prayers. Announcer was really shaken up.
  17. Rays seen a JL W6 on 500 watts break a windshield I hear.
  18. You say you don't have the power to push the lvl 5s, yet you want a ddz? What's wrong with the two 18s?
  19. [quote name= Gem132' timestamp='1316158855' post='1687974] your wrong, how dare you come in here and say that just playin i think your right on that one though, its just not natural to get a body builder figure or even close without being on the juice, Also wrong. Do you realize how many bodybuliding comps are tested and "clean" from juice? There are some that accept it, but a ton of competitions are for natural bodybuilding only. It's completely natural to have a bodybuilder's body with nothing but natural intake. Whet is derived from milk which is natural, vitamins are natural, even creatine is natural (found in most red meats). That is what a lot of bodybuilders use is just those supplements and they know how to train. The common misconception, or rather maybe just ignorance, is thinking you can lift heavy and gain muscle and look good, that's not how it works. If you want to get ripped, it's not about how much muscle you have, but how much far is on top if the muscle. Whenever you lift and gain muscle you're actually gaining fat too, which most people don't know. That's why to do it correctly, you go through cuts and bulks. A cut is burning as much fat as you can with saving as much muscle as possible. The more fat you are carrying (higher bodyfat %) the more fat you will gain when bulking. The less fat, the oppisite the effect, which is why a cut is so important before a bulk. The average consensus of the perfect BF % to start bulking is around 10-13%. Bulk is when you up calories to gain size and strength and try to limit fat gain as much as possible so your cut is short so you can bulk again shortly after. Sorry for the long winded post, but it is entirely possible to naturally bodybuild and have a body you could dream of. It's just a lot more deducation than most want to put into anything but sitting on their ass.
  20. You'd be terribly suprised what you can do in 3-6 months time working your ass harder than ever. I've seen people from 30% bf drop to single digits in that amount of time. Now dot expect to keep all your strength and you will lose some muscle, but you can cut fat hella fast if you live in the gym. As for gaining muscle, you can do that too if you know what bodygroups to work when and how. Only problem is it can be based on genetics depending on your body how fast or slow you gain, and depends if you are clean bulking or not. The fast part is the thing that stops people. They also don't think a diet is important when lifting either. Diet IMO is 70% of the battle.
  21. Documents => Music => ITunes => iTunes media (or iTunes music, something like that) => automatically add files to iTunes folder. Take anything you want in iTunes and copy it into that folder.
  22. Blowthrough or gogo 2 seater. Once you have the crewcab rear seat though, you never want to give it up. Picking up wither a cummings or 7.3 pstroke in about 6 months, cant wait. 12" of lift looks delicious on that truck, but 8" is normally enough imo. That a 4 or 5" tip? Any thoughts on dual exhaust? Dual 45s are sexy as fawk. Anything other than chip? New turbo? Injectors? Fuel pump? OM NOM NOM.
