For the money any comparable XSPower battery will have better performance than an optima of equal size. I was in the same boat when I was first looking into the ease of buying at autozone or having patience and waiting for the UPS truck with my XS batteries. Just take the max measurement's of your front battery compartment and look for an XS battery that fits in there. On XSpower website look for the battery that fits in the S version (red label) it's the same as the blue stickered ones but comes with battery posts. Yup he is lol, Kyle I been through emails with Robbie about that 180HP for my car and like I said I am on the fence as any other customer is. I am most likely going to reach a level of 2000rms for one amp and then around 400rms on my second amp. I know my 90amp alt suffers at idle right now with what I have currently but with these goals that I am going to try to reach I want to plan ahead. I have read the stories of the 3500D las vegas trip on the 180HP alt.

I am at the last stretch on upgrading my electrical, my last step is a HO alternator but I am honestly on the fence with either mechman and DC power which they make something for my car. Regardless of that i understand a alternator is not a battery charger and even when i get that main piece of my puzzle i still want to take care of my batteries.

lol its cool bro I'm just trying to understand, 1.how to give my batteries a deeper charge, read somewhere that you don't want to use a trickle charger which mine is not. Also you don't want to charge them to fast either. 2. why is it when batteries are connected in the car and run in parallel the charger hits 100% full in about 1-2min but when I take each battery down and do them separately it takes a lot longer for each one to get to 100% full. They rest at 12.8v but I have also read as maintenance I should charge batteries once in a while to help them out.

yes, I have tried to just hook the charger to batteries while in the car and it charges them in about 2min but if I do them one at a time out of the car it takes a good while longer. they average 12.8 sitting overnight. I like to throw them on the charge about once a month regardless. right now my battery has been float charging for about 30min but i am confused about giving them that "deep charge" what amperage in charging does this? I set the charger to not put more than 14v to each battery.

I'm charging my batteries one at time, After its fully charged do I leave it in float charge mode? Does it benefit at all leaving it on the charger a while longer in float mode? I read somewhere that theres a way to give batteries a deeper charge but can't remember how exactly. My batteries are both XS power, a S3400 and a D1200. charger putting no more than 13.2 on the batteries.

you will be fine with just the battery and maybe the XS Power 589 to expand connections to the battery. I got mine from jegs also! Damn good battery.

My S3400 came with no case maybe built in it but don't really know. The other difference from S and D versions is that the S versions come with the battery posts and the D doesn't unless you order them.

Looking at the 5701 it seems pretty good. Is the 5901 worth the price difference its all on you. Its like the comparison between the 5901 and 5902 its mainly the remotes that change. I can only speak about what I have. One more thing I like about the 5901 is that the transmitter goes on the glass to the side of rear view mirror and at night when the alarm is armed it has a blue L.E.D that bounces off the back part of the rear view mirror and also hits dash and seats. I like that instead of the alarm lights that are on the dash or somewhere you need to be close to see it. The further I can keep people away the better.

The 5901 transmits to the main remote every few seconds, say someone thuds the car or starts jimmying into it and the shock sensor feels that it will give a warn chirp from the siren and then report that to the remote on your key chain. It will say warn show pic of hammer representing impact. If your car is hit really hard it skips the warn away and goes full alarm. If some how they get door around shock sensor as soon as door is opened full alarm goes off. As for the proximity sensor it has two fields primary and secondary and they are adjustable if someone walks around car and starts peeking into windows the sensor detects that and will give warn chirp which will be sent to key chain remote also. In the summer I like to leave my window down a bit and if someone where to stick a hand into car the next sensor will trigger the full alarm. Reviews on this sway both ways but as paranoid as I am once I set the fields right I don't mind the warn away if someone gets to close say at walmart parking lot, I just stay ready for the door message which hasn't happened yet lol. And once in my drive way nobody should be getting the close to the car to begin with. The 5901 has a full silent arm feature where you press function button four times on remote and then arm button and the alarm will be on full alarm but if anything triggers shock sensor, door triggers, or motion sensor the would be thief would not know your being alerted by your remote on your key chain and you can welcome them to a warm greeting into your car. Their is a very slight delay on full silent notifications but they are there for sure. My real world experience with the range on remote warnings is I get notifications in the mall, grocery shopping, restaurants, movies, walmart. I'm glad I got the 5901 and it has proven its worth. The price is good over at sonic and if you put it in successfully I will envy you lol.If theirs anything else just ask.

Sorry to long to reply was at work, you don't need to connect the remote start or keyless entry at all. I don't use any of that either mainly because my car doesn't have any power windows or locks and is standard transmission. It's the 2 way pager that makes the 5901 shine for me. I have a hoopty Hyundai 98 accent but I value all I have put into it and my setup I am glad the optional proximity sensor does work flawless in my car will keep anyone on their toes when walking by my car and if I don't hear it warn chirp the 2 way remote lets me know whats up, key feature is the 2 way paging of the 5901 for me. and for the price in the link it's not bad at all especially if your going to put it in. I wanted to do that but punked out didn't want to mess something up.

A high output alt is built from the inside out to handle more current overall and most companies like mechman have different amperage alternators to suit your needs. You don't necessarily need to buy their biggest one either.

autozone but make sure they put it on an AGM charger and make sure the voltage doesn't stay passed 14v longer than 5min. The charger might be off to the back but you can see the display from a distance. It would be the one they use on optimas. The workers might not understand, and you don't need to leave it for the hour more like 10min and its done.

HU front to EQ front in then front out on EQ to 2ch amp set to high pass as well as crossover on amp around 340. Then sub out on HU to sub in on EQ from there rca's go to sub amp set at 80. The clarion EQ makes everything sound better but having things like I do the example I gave earlier still happens, Its like the bands on clarion EQ are linked not independent from each other. I was just wondering if the AUDIOCONTROL EQS that the OP posted has each band independently controlled without affecting any of the other bands? I assume it does seeing its around $270 for the audiocontrol eqs and my EQ was $60 lol Sorry don't mean to throw this off track.

The 3sixty is very good at doing all this but it depends on how much yo want to spend.

I'm curious as well I would also keep in mind that each band on the EQ is not linked to the other. For example I have a clarion eqs746 and I love what it does for my highs but if I lower the 50hz dial to cut it a bit from my mids/highs speakers it also affects my subwoofer outputs and I don't like that. Maybe the one your looking at works better than the one I have.
