Just got word that one of my teachers (of whom I am good friends with) has some sort of cancer growing around his spinal cord. No news on what it is yet, or if it is treatable, but it doesn't look likely that he will make it through the rest of the year...

Ideally: Big 3 done in 0 gauge + run from + on underhood battery to + on second battery (fuse the run coming off the underhood battery as close to the terminal as you can, and also fuse it where it goes into the rear battery) - run from the underhood battery to the rear battery (this might be optional depending on your vehicle. It depends on the ground location) - run from the rear battery to ground.

More often than not, the RCA preouts on the HU don't push enough voltage for the dd-1 to read properly(save for the 4v preout ones). Try setting it with an amp plugged into the RCAs or just through the speaker outs. Edit: Looks like you have a 2v head unit. You might want to just find/borrow a full range amp to set gains

Get 2 distribution blocks and wire all the + to one, all the - to the other. Then hook up your amp to the inputs on the block and you should be good to go! Or you could also get 2 bolts, thread them through the box, put ring terminals on your leads and put all the - leads on one bolt, all the + leads to the other bolt. Wire your amp up in the same fashion.

Im sorry, kinda new to the program. Im just using 2 aero ports, or whatever can get me around 32hz. Any suggestions? Do you have any room for external port length? What vehicle is this in (are these your max dimensions or do you have more room)? And how will the subs / port be positioned?

Wait... You are using BOTH aero ports and slot ports? I'd say pick one or the other. Edit: I'd do double baffle and bracing too. BTLs are no joke

Music is generally accepted as a 50% duty cycle (bass notes don't last forever, as well as box rise among other things) 5000 RMS amp - 90% effeciency at 14.4v - 386a of current draw. 50% duty cycle - 193a. Factor that in with the rest of the electrical demands of the vehicle (seems between 40-50a on average) and you have ~250a average of current draw that you need to feed as a MINIMUM. Even then, there will be times when it will peak well above this - your main issue here will be voltage drop. So pretty much what Gregg said - more batteries, I would say bigger alternator too so your voltage doesn't get too bad (don't want to fry a nice amp now do we?). Cheers

If you are seriously doing it as an actual build: no. Might reduce both spl and sq (cancellation) If you are doing it as a fun side project or something just to see: Use separate boxes, take videos, enjoy

Lots of zip ties to keep it in place / stop drooping. Keep away from exhaust, and keep it away from your axles / driveshaft / suspension parts (remember, these move up and down too) TONS of people do it

Waaayyy too low (unless he likes burping 17hz or something). You would lose a bunch of your high end bass - like 40-45hz and above going that low I've had great luck tuning to 27 and 29hz. Honestly, just do 29 hz if he likes low, 27 if he likes low and has some good midbass drivers.

Try several different ones. **usually** the peak is a few hz above box tuning.
