yeah sub forward and port back normall calls for a flared port. slotted or flared either way is great for music. it comes down to tunning and box building. As for burping only the flared ports might give you a slight edge. However, your design from RE for 35hz subs up port is pretty much a win win combo for a hatch. It gets loud, it plays music and you'll definately turn some heads. Hell "basically" that is how Steve's box in his Tahoe.

Howzit bruddah, Well subs up port back is a proven design in hatch backs. From my buddys hatch he's seen the most gains with sub forward and port back. its basically the same design a lot CRX's would run in the street classes. So being the last box was tuned around 41hz I assume you intend on building a box that will play music. The RE SX slams pretty hard. I have buddy of mine who has 4 10" SX's and loves them. Definateey a strong woofer.

Its because we love the sport thats why we care about turnout. Yeah its not the point on the head count but, like Andy stated A bad turnout means the host probably won't host again. You don't need to tell me how bad the scene is in HI. However, that is just another reason why we need to grow this sport. This thread might of started off on a bad note but, thats the point of a forum. To have an open discussion with people and be able to voice opinions and get ideas. We are in a small section called competitors corner so majority of us are competitors weather you actively, previously or planning on competing thats probably why you are in here.

I know you have been keeping tabs on this forum. Its just has to be on the top10 with the car audio community. As I stated in the other thread as well as countless discussions with others. The sport needs help and we should try to do all we can to support it. I know Jack didn't intend for the thread to come off as negative as I see where some posts did go. I think it was more of an awareness of the state of the sport. Personally I've gone down to So Cal a couple of times for 3x events. The shows have always been great in the past but, just watching the turnouts in Nor Cal and So Cal it has severly been declining. I've asked time and time again what we can do as competitors to boost the turnout. I think it comes down to advertising and promoting, then making it affordable for the shops and competitors. Never the less welcome to SMD bro.....

the name "aero" is a name brand of flared ports. Rusty has got some pretty cool flared ports for sale now. They are pricey though. for the everyday box might not be the best for the $$$. For the db dragger definately worth the price for the chance to pick up a db or two. ***back on topic*** I really wish we could help Jefferey give the So Cal scene a kick start, I think people have just lost interest and shops are just done with it. Yet there are some good manufactures in the area and you know there has to be some bad ass Stereo shops in the area as well. Definatey there has to be something to bring more people out.

I don't feel like researching....... Do you know of off the top of your head if they make a 3" lift for a '98 ext cab, long bed Silverado? Manufacture and rough price estimate. I see a lot of 6" lifts. Just curious, nothing to pull out the books or do an internet search on.

Hell Yeah....... those are all some good ones. I know it sounds funny but I grew up to all those songs. Thanks to my parents. I use to spend hours in the garage with my father when I was younger listening too all of those songs on the radio. You hardly hear them now on the radio. Maybe once in a while during an oldie show or something but, not just randomly during the day. Good Memories. The OH HONEY song should sound great in an SQ system. I've bought stocks through a company I use to work for. Sometimes you get a break in price or the company will match your investment. CD's and Money Markets are safe investments but, some what slow returns. Like Roscoe said examine the market and do some research. Whatever you do make sure your able to sleep at night.
