wahts going on in vegas, im going too

  2. MS-8 or Alpine's new processor that is replacing the 701. Both pieces are made to intergrate into factory systems giving the full control of eq and processing plus with line levels out for front rear center and sub. also has a small pre-amplifed 4x15 watt I believe built into one. I've heard an Acura that intergrated a processor into its stock system and you would think it was stock but, listening from one to a stock it is day and night...Let me see if Ic an find the link. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/build-logs-project-install-gallery/76826-stock-looking-low-powered-simple-sq-setup-2007-acura-tl-s.html
  3. Cinco De Mayo in San Jose is the SHIT. However, over the years it has gotten more crazy and more crazy. Everyone please be safe this weekend, drink responsibly and enjoy the weather.

  4. '05 Civic Coupe.....hmm let me think about that for a while. This is the mids and high section so we won't go to far off track into the SQ side. As for what ohms to get, purchase what ever will get your amp down to a 2ohm per channel to maximize output. Now, the down side to this although you maximize output you sacrifice some THD while doing this. Again though we are talking about only a fraction and with the amount of speakers you'll want the most output as possible. Honestly I'd recommend picking up an external crossover or purchasing a head unit with one built into for accurate frequencies going to each channel on the amp. It may be confusing at first but, the more control you have the better in the long run. I hope this makes sense thus far.
  5. thats not a touchscreen if you're going for real SQ you should pretty much eliminate touchscreen HU's from your search. I know this ... I have a double din Kenwood DNX9980HD in my Sound Quality vehicle ... Works great for Sound Quality competitions ... and ... Do you not agree with me that the Pioneer DEX-P99RS is the best single Din headunit availiable for Sound Quality ?? If you disagree with me ... Would you please explain why ?? No Arguement here.....would recommend either analog deck from Clarion and Alpine as well.
  6. damn i like that idea since you got 16 id put 4 in each front pillar, one in each door and 4 in rear deck, and 2 in each pillar maybe facing the opposite side viewers face so your not 1' away from 4 tweeters in your face.. and maybe 1 of them on each pillar facing the rear seats .. and then the last1 facing out the opposite side of cars window but near the listener.... GET TO GLASSIN SON! or if you got a 2 door put 2 in each front door or one in each door and one on the back armrest shits on each side WTF....... please please do not do this..... 16 tweeters that cost maybe under $50 over $500 of install parts and material???? FAIL!!!!!!!
  7. If the wiring would be such a bitch I would say put them all around the car and hook it up to your alarm. It would sound like a stock toyota alarm on steroids. LOL
  8. build a 6th order band pass for them out of some quad wood tune it down to 30hz.
  9. OH but, I also have a 701 processor for both three ways.
  10. Love the dedication you got going there for speakers per channel per amp. where are your speaker locations? At this point you are probably better off doubling up your outputs especially since your 6's and tweeters are both using the same frequency. Lets be honest too your not looking at staging, height or imaging qualities with the amount of speakers you are putting in but, that thing will be loud. I'd recommend put the tweeters together and running 1/2 channel at 4ohms and then put the 6's together and running 3/4 channel at 2 ohms. you'll get more output of the amp and still have the correct crossover points per speakers. then you can use the second four channel bridged down or dedicated as a mid-bass amp. In my own set ups I use two 4channels to accomplish my 3-way setups. 1st set up tweeter to 1/2 4" to 3/4 6" to 1/2 rear to 3/4 2nd set up tweeter to 1/2 4" to 3/4 8" bridged to 1/2 & 3/4
  11. Personally I have set my three way: 8"- 45-250 4"-200-2k tweet-1k-18k now slope and eq settings.

  13. I use an mbquart onyx 4.60 "active" and have the horns crossed at 1000hz (24db) I think there is another person on the forum who uses them remember their name. When installing them you want them as far apart and as deep under the dash as they can go. They use the whole bottom of the dash as a giant waveguide. I used the full size ID horn bodies due to my center console. They also play a little lower than the minis. They do have some peaks as I mentioned in the video. You can get awawy with a 15 band eq or even a seven like me but a 1/3 octave will really help them shine. They have tremendous output on low power and most of the peaks are in the vocal range. The compression drivers I use (Selenium 2500ti) are 8 ohm so they only see 30 watts which is more than enough. I have the 10" in the doors on 240 watts and they match up pretty well. The wall is on 1500 watts as well It is pretty well rounded and I have no problem playing nickle creek or waka flocka. I am replacing the door speakers with a 12" selenium pro mid which has a higher 1w/1m. If you use a 6 or 8 " you will need a gaggle of wattage to keep up with the horns. Here are a couple x-over points to look at. Horns 1000hz (24db) -20k Midbass 80-1000 (24db) Subbass 80hz -20hz Follow thi tutorial. to make them really outstanding. So in this order - put one side out of phase Horn and midbass driver - listen and try reversing both horns polarity phase to lift sound stage - balance left - t/a left mid only until it lifts up as high as possible then mirror that setting to other side - then balance center - t/a left horn and mid together until it shifts center no more than .5 millisecond - EQ left and right separately as the lower midrange / upper mid bass area 160 to 400 hz range can really lower our stage height. If you dont have an RTA try these settings 125 - 3dB 160 -9dB 200 -6dB 250 -6dB 320 -3dB and see if it is better tonally and stage height wise. To smooth the top end adjust as follows 2000 -3dB 2500 -6 dB 3000 -6dB 4000 -3db Thanks to neal for this tutorial. COUPLE OF YEARS AGO THIS WOULD OF GONE RIGHT OVER MY HEAD. THANK GOD I PAID SOME ATTENTION TO THE SQ GUYS. THE ABOVE IS A GREAT STARTING POINT IN TUNING AND WILL GIVE YOU A GREAT ADVANTAGE. ELECTRONIC PROCESSING IS THE WAY TO GO BRO. BIT-ONE,MS-8, 701, ARC'S NEW PROCESSOR (if you can get your hands on it.) All of the above should be able to do all of what was suggested for tuning.
  14. Does the gti still come with a 61/2 in the door and tweeter/3 or 4 in the dash?
  15. Off at noon but working tomorrow. Oh well going to enjoy this beautiful day.

T.A.C. is at Motel 6. Where is SSC at? Luke? I am not disclosing were I will be as it is deemed G-17 classified.
