  1. Well.. http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SWR1243D-SWR-1243D-Type-R-Subwoofer/dp/B003KEK4P4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1293162116&sr=8-3 2 of those. http://www.vminnovations.com/product_5568/AUDIOPIPE-AP10001D-1000W-MONO-Power-Amplifier.html One of those bad boys. =$392. This setup would be louder than you think and it will stay in your price range.
  2. No worries. A different way you would like to be contacted, or shall I wait?
  3. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/95100-reliable-2000-watts-rms-cheap/ Hell of a deal. And Dont worry about it being 2k watts, you can always set your gains just a little lower. Same price as the AP1500d and a much better amp.
  4. Ya, wayne rips a lot of shit off but I'm not gonna say for a second I don't like some it.
  5. Oh boy, you don't even know how much I want to move to somewhere like that. Not planning on making any road trips out there any time soon though.
  6. When i first looked at this, and skimmed through, I thought to myself, "You know what we be awesome, if I just picked my favorite ones out of all these and posted them bellow". As I started getting down the list, I realized that they all fit me so perfectly I just couldn't pick between them all. Hilarious stuff. Great find.
  7. Na, if his amp has high level inputs he doesn't need one. A quick test to see if polarity (phase) is the problem is simply hook ONE of the INPUTS into the amp up the opposite way it is hooked up now. If it fixes the problem then that IS the problem. The only thing left at that point would be figuring out which one was wrong, and making sure they are both correct. If they are both wrong, the sub will play fine but then the sub will be out of phase with the rest of the system. It won't be terribly noticeable but it will make a difference. Alright, awesome. Thanks for the help guys. If I have some more questions after I take a look tomorrow, I'll let you guys know.
  8. Ya, everyone on here seems to be real helpful. Well, Mostly everyone.. And I would rather not redo it all, as it seems with just a few touches it could work. But, if it does come down to it, i'll just wire it up to the head, as that would hopefully eliminate all the problems were having.
  9. I did the same thing in my car when using a line-out converter (which changes the signal into a low level RCA type signal). The wiring guide I was using was wrong and I wired one side backwards. My sub sounded very quiet most of the time, but every once in a while they would play a loud note. Why is WAY beyond me, I just notice one day when I put the balance to one side that all of the sudden my sub was loud. Pulled the converter out, switched the incorrect side around and all was good. So, does he need to buy a converter out? Or just try switching the wires? Sorry if these are stupid questions. Ha Logan
  10. Most of that went over my head. How do you change the phase? I am going on a couple assumptions here so let me know if I am wrong about anything. First, you have a 2 channel amp that is bridged to your sub You are either using a line-out converter OR your amp has high level inputs. When I say phase (polarity) I mean whether the + and - is hooked up correctly. When the guy used the rear speakers to get a signal, he probably hooked the + and - of ONE side up incorrectly. Feel free to add some pictures of how he wired the rear speakers if you can. Those assumptions are both correct. And the amp has a high level input. And Ok, that makes sense, but it amazes me that it even would have worked in the first place if they were hooked up wrong.
  11. Bump, Anyone in Colorado have one of these? I got a few bucks to pay you for the troubles. Logan
  12. Holy cow. 48, Jesus, I nearly went deaf from listening to that on my stock computer speakers... Ha
  13. He tapped into the rear ones because he couldn't get the head unit out because he didn't have the tool to do it. And it's the stock one in a 2000 mustang.
