  1. Yeah, they go by 4ohm ratings which means the T10001bd is a 500watt amp even though its good for 1500+ @ 1ohm. Bench #s don't count. Its the manufacturer's rated power output @ 4ohm. I live in SC.
  2. There was a competition Saturday and I went for the state record in the Truck/Suv 0-500watt class. As already stated I took it with 146.6db. For those that don't know I have an '06 GMC Yukon w/ 3 RF HX2 12s in a 6.8ft box w/ 3 4" aeros tuned to 32hz powered by a single RF T10001bd. They go by your amplifiers 4ohm rating so thats how I'm in a 500watt class w/ the T1000. I ordered another amp Thursday morning & it should be here by Friday. After installing it I'm thinking of going for the Truck/Suv 501-1500watt record as well. Here's some pics. Let me know what you think. First run. Second run. I had to back up the first run without leaving the staging lanes and they take the lower of the two scores. Here's the setup.
  3. I've really been getting into music thats been slowed down lately. It sound really good playing on a system thats tuned low between 30-32hz. There's only been a couple chopped songs that I've liked though so I've been making my own screwed songs lately using Nero7. Simply insert an audio file into Nero Soundtrax then use the transpose feature to slow it down. Some come out good the first time but some I end up going back and readjusting them some more after listening to them in my truck. My favorite one so far is Young Dro - Shoulder Lean. It normall has a higher bassline but after being screwed its hits hard down low. Some others that have worked well are Juvenile - Whats Happenin, Shawnna - Gettin Some Head, and Rich Boy - Throw Some Ds. So if you like deep hard hitting bass lines then get some screwed music. Next I'm going to be sitting in my truck with the laptop tuning the songs in just right for my setup.
  4. Its static. Ones at a high frequency and the other is low. I recommend downloading a program called NCH Tone Generator. You can make whatever tone or sweep you want and save it with that program.
  5. How'd you get 0.5ohm coils? Aren't the BTLs only offered in dual 0.7ohm & 1.4ohm? We've ran these bx2005d's @ 0.7ohms with one amp per TeamRF (dual 1.4ohm coils in parallel) and the amps did great. They never got hot or went into protection. I haven't posted everything about this build yet because we're still waiting to get the subs in and build the box and I don't like talking about stuff until I'm in process. That way I can post pics if needed. Right now the next step in the build is to install the dual alternator setup and run some more wire through the truck. There is currently two batts up front & two in the rear w/ two runs of 0awg wire run to the back. We'll be adding the second 200amp alt and two more runs of 0awg wire before we begin with the actual box build. I'll make sure and post some more pics then.
  6. I was questioning whether it would go into protection after a hard session banging Young Jeezy's Air Forces, but it held up fine. It wasn't any hotter to the touch than if it had been sitting in the truck off on an 80* day. The internal fan was running like I've never heard though and it was doing an excellent job of keeping itself cool.
  7. Four BTL 18s w/ a pair of 2000watt Brutus' on each sub in a 24ft box tuned to 30hz in an '01 Excursion. The Excursion's resonant frequency is in the 30-32hz range so it makes a killer ground pounder, but doesn't meter well since its such a low frequency. We're only hoping for 151db.
  8. The Average power output for these amp is 1500watts @ 1ohm & I don't see it doing much more than that @ 0.67ohms. This is in no way my final design. This was mainly a test box to see how three rear-firing subs would sound. Well it pounds and I'm happy with it so I'm already doing the drawings for a new box with a little different but same basic shape. I'm also about to buy a second T10001bd to help power these at a safer impedance and will be flush mounting the sub and amps into the box. For now though I'm gunning for the local Truck/Suv 0-500 state record. Its currently 146.1 and I'm sure that I can beat it with this setup.
  9. The camera's audio capability doesn't properly pick up the bass. Also that box is tuned low @ 30hz and it doesn't play the higher frequencies in the song very well.
  10. I won't go as far to say that they're "bad" but I firmly believe that they are a step down from RF's previous subs. Punch HX2s > P3s.
  11. IMO 45hz is way too high for a daily box. It should be tuned in the low 30s for music. I highly recommend retuning that box to somewhere between 32-35hz. For some P3s thats a good score. I'm a huge RF fan but I don't like any of the new Punch stuff. I would change subs to at least a set of RF Power T1s and make sure to get the dual 2ohm so that you can wire all four subs into a 1ohm load and get full power out of that T20001bd.
  12. Resonant frequencies vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on your system and vehicle modifications. The only way to know your car's frequency is to test it on a TermLab. For example, I remember Meade saying his Tahoe's frequency is 37hz however my Yukon's (same body style as his Tahoe) is 45hz. Also when I changed my setup to four 12s w/ subs up & ports back it changed to 40hz. I recommend finding someone at a local car show/spl comp w/ a TL and ask if they can help.
  13. Here's my newest setup. Three Dual 4ohm Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 12s in a 7ft box w/ three 4" aeroports tuned to 32hz powered by a single Rockford Fosgate T10001bd @ 0.67ohms. My previous setups include a pair of these HX2s, a pair of TeamRF 12s, and four HX2s but so far I like this one the best. I did a few runs with the TermLab and it hit an easy 145.1db (did I mention this was tuned to 32hz) on a test tone and mid 144s playing some Young Jeezy and this was with a failing alternator. I'm lucky to stay above 12volts with my current electrical system. There's already a 200amp alt awaiting installation as soon as I can find out how to wire it into my truck. For some reason GM decided to change the alternator plugs for '06. My next plans are to install the new alt, add a second battery to the back and bump the tuning up to 40hz (for competitions). I'm expecting to hit a 147, but hoping for 148+. Any recommendations on upholstering the box? All I have in the shop is the basic gray carpet but I won't dare put anything that boring into this truck. The factory interior is all tan leather so I would like something to match but need ideas. I'm thinking something like a matching tan vinyl w/ a raised black RF logo. Look for some vids soon.
  14. I'm thinking the same thing. I've hit mids 146s with only two 12s (Team RFs) and 147s with four HX2s and I don't hit anything like that. Does the Focus just not meter well? Anyways, awesome vid. Thats a sweet groundpounder you've got there.
  15. I'm not exactly sure on the wattage. Their 1.4ohm dvc with a "supposed" over-rated Hifonics Brutus BX2005D on each coil. I'd guess that its about 5000watts for the pair. Here is a pic of just a portion of whats about to go into this truck. Eight Hifonics Brutus 2000watt amps to power a multi-sub setup. Hopefully it'll sound alright.
  16. Two Team RF 12s in an Excursion. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/Excurs...878011d4221.htm Four RF HX2 12s in a Yukon. http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b126/der...=YukonSubs1.flv http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b126/der...=YukonSubs3.flv
  17. 19" Flat panel on my main computer and old 17"s on my other two. My laptop has a 14.1" screen.
  18. Try it out. If it doesn't work just turn the box around so the port fires back. Trying to figure out what works best in your vehicle is all about test & tune.
  19. No punk and no attitude. Sorry to come off like that. I only said "check the math" so someone else could check behind me. I'm not always sure of these things myself. I only knew it was 0.67 off my head because I'm redoing my system for three 4ohm dvc subs and already did the calculations for that setup.
  20. Three 4ohm dvc subs all wired in paralell equals 0.67ohms. Check the math.
  21. First you need to check all your wiring that connects to that amp. Then check that amp in another vehicle.
  22. It'll be louder reflecting off the rear glass.
  23. His box is only 15" deep. The 18" sub won't fit.
