I almost posted it in subwoofer section, but I figured, it's not a whole subwoofer, just one piece, but good to know.

And thanks fanaticz, I had asked to close the carbon fiber cap one, and I guess you can close the other 4-layer/8-layer one asking if it was a VS thread.

  14. Just as a thought for chevelles, you might ask your friend if he has had the body to frame mount bushings done recently (within 10 years). From what I have seen most of his frame and body work seems very well done and fresh, so I would assume they have been. But just in case, since it's often one of the most over-looked repairs, you might ask. If he hasn't had them done, and decides to replace them, the whole body will probably sit differently once replaced, and the panel you're fitting in now might not fit later. Just like the trunk pan I replaced, after I spot welded it into the cut-out it had a weird bend/fold in it with the new bushings, so I had to grind the spot-welds off and re-weld it in. Mine had never been replaced until now, so I had to have my entire car re-aligned once the new ones were in. im just trying to get the system done, i could care less about his frame bushings to be honest with you. Lol, straight and to the point, i like that

  16. Steve how much did that alternator run him? I just had to replace my starter and alternator, but instead of upgrading the alt I just got a high torque starter and got a stock alt, newly built though.
  17. so you are faulting me for scraping the paint with a wire wheel before grounding the wire? really? LOL - you said "grind"....it was a wire brush on a drill. SMH No no, I didn't mean to make it seem like any fault or anything like that, I just meant that even to get the cleaner connection on my car, I would be very hesitant about removing the rustoleum coating. Sorry I exaggerated on the "grinding", I've been studying for AP english the past 2 weeks, I'm hardwired to inflate a situation and use extreme words, that how you write a BS essay response lol Edit: I only noticed because I had spent about 13 hours scraping and grinding rust off the frame under the car, and even after a little bit of rain driving over a year some of the front frame was developing rust and even getting through the rustoleum layer.
  18. He posted it: That was one of the most ballsy moves I've seen by completely grinding down to bare frame metal...but it looked completely unoxidized for now, hopefully it stays that way lol
  19. lol only took 2.5 years to get 1000 posts, bout time.

  20. Jesus the haunting memories. The guy I bought my '71 chevelle from had taken it to some valley audio shop and they charged him $1200 to put in the lowest end JVC headunit and speakers they make, they made "custom speaker holes by cutting through the back panel steel with TIN SNIPS, it's like a sharks mouth holding a speaker. and the best part about it? THEY DRILLED HIS "CUSTOM ENCLOSURE FOR 2 15's INTO THE GAS TANK BECAUSE THEY DRILLED INSIDE THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX. HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TANK ONCE I FOUND IT. But gasoline got all over the trunk panel for months and ate through the entire thing, needs replacing... New gas tank: And it's sort of hard to see how sharp and jagged it is, but they had to bolt it from the bottom because they left the metal bar going across in the way, real professionals. [url=http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/AlanTenfelder/media/063-3_zpsd578bb59.jpg.html] [url=http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/AlanTenfelder/media/062-3_zpse80184d0.jpg.html]URL] must be some curse on 70's chevelles and audio shop installs....... Thankfully you're here to help out Steve, but I'm mostly mad at the door panels! THOSE ARE FUCKIN EXPENSIVE FOR REPLACEMENTS! You'll be lucky to get the white set for less than $250 shipped, that shop should really pay for them........thats total bullshit.... If somebody fucked my chevelle like that I would do 11's on their face for days
  21. i gave my copy away for free so I'm not too disappointing about missing the DLC lol
