  1. I dunno, there is just something about wiring down your interior speakers to a lower ohm I dont care for. IMO you want your mids and tweets to be as CLEAR as possible, wiring them at a lower ohm load wont keep them as clear as possible. Its just me tho. There was a kicker zx850.4 for sale on here, dont know if its sold, but I know it puts out some high numbers for a 4 channel amp.
  2. oh man, you have no idea how fun capacitors can be! just go around shocking your friends with them! Its priceless
  3. that amp is looking pretty nice (gut wise), good luck with it bro!
  4. that looks tight! cant wait to see real build pics if you go through with this should be pretty impressive!
  5. There are many ways a sub can be damaged from clipping. ripped spiders, broken tinsels, fried coils. I doubt the sub was pushed passed its mechanical limits, I know someone pushing 4 type r 10s with around 4-5 thousand rms, and they are taking it. Only problem they had so far is that the glue let loose on the surround where it was adhered to the basket. Bass boost all the way down, and 3/4 gain is still most likely clipping the amp, and the low bass boost should not be compensaited that much with the gain.
  6. roflmao... Nice! I like that one!
  7. opps my bad.. long day. thanx for the correction!!!
  8. a high flow cat will help a big bit I bet. Im not sure about the smog testing ( i dont have that here) but I know you can get high flow cats from jegs.com that are emissions safe for most states. Your best bet would be to contact jegs, they are always really helpful. I forget what hp mine engine is, but I wanna say its something like 320-340hp on the 4.6 HO 32valve northstar. I forget tho. Oh, and I also got 2 mufflers I got a y pipe about 2 feet or so after my cat that is stock.
  9. Looks can be deceiving. Two totally different boards, altho somewhat similar. and the clips that hold the fets in place on the hifonics are completly crap!. for the most part the hifonics board is held in place by just them clips and the board only slids into the heatsink about 1/8th inch. I know this from personally expeirence because if them amps running them clips don not have proper and sufficient support under the board they will vibrate to their death Not to mention that hifonics line is all underrated. SUNDOWN FTW
  10. I got 4 warnings in the past few weeks for mine.... Starting to get annoyed with it since they are 50 state legal or whatever... I know the lower in series you go means less restriction (louder). so a 40 series is louder then a 50 series, but a 50 series is louder then say a 60 series as example. Also the way the baffles are set inside the muffler adds different tones, as well as your pipe size from your header/manifold and how many bends are in the exaust. Kinda like a stereo, theres so many varibles that affect sound. Are you running a v8 Coolwazabi? I didnt expext mine to be as loud as they are, but Im gonna have to look for some high flow quiet mufflers soon. I also only have about 5 inches of pipe after my mufflers.
  11. damn, I havent seen your new ride yet, its looking pretty clean. I cant wait for wisconsin to have no snow on the ground again
  12. alright, im gonna have to check that out tomorrow thanx

  18. yea key words "little car", way smaller then a full sized suv.
  19. That aint shit, I almost want to say that bill was louder then the dipshit with the wall. He probolly wont even break a 150 all sealed up mic on dash

  21. Spiders on drugs, its kinda funny. Its kinda old I think, but I just watched it
  22. No, I just got a lil 1000 wrms rockford in there right now. I have no room in my trunk for my "real" amps, I have to wait for the rebuild to gain some space for them
  23. Id find a main ignition wire, and scotch lock off that (so your not splicing major wires). Then just use the ignition wire to turn on a relay, then run everything off a relay. Relays are your best bet anyways when running more then 2 amps since their is not much power going through the remote wire on a deck (even tho your now missing it) Since you said your running tvs, and 4 amps off the remote wire, Id also fuse it at atleast 15 amps, maybe 20. I soldered 8gauge power wire right to my relay for my regulator. Theres no such thing as overkill
