  1. More than likely yes, because having a level 4 woofer with a level 3 coil put into is actually pointless. Im pretty sure the level 3 coil is weaker than the level 4 coil so down grading a level 4 with a level 3 coil is unheard of. Now putting a level 4 coil into a level 3 motor would possibly give you better power handling and handle a little more abuse if the cooling is up to the job on the level 3 motor, which Im sure it is. So if anything you have a level 3 woofer with a level 4 coil, maybe an added spider to make a tad stiffer suspension.
  2. This almost as bad as a local kid telling me he has level 5s with level 6 recones made from psi...
  3. Looks like sealed they are saying 3 cubed, ported 4 cubed tuned to 32hz. I had 4 regular sa-12s I built into 18s using the sa coils/spiders and Obsidian cones, and 4gauge push terminals, and they did pretty well on about 4.75cubed per woofer

If ya'll didn't play at fucking midnight or later I could play, but I have to be up at 7 or earlier every day.

  5. I swore that I heard he was going to quit racing, sell off the team and everything else do to with racing.
  6. You can order from his site www.wccaraudio.com. Im sure if you email prior pick up arrangements can be made. To my knowledge jaybird is there daily getting the orders figured out and shipping them. There may even be a pick up locally option not sure. Having another box, or more foam on the packaging wont stop much from happening if indeed it get get thrown into a truck, or fell from a 3ft conveyer belt, or had a chick driving the route and the battery slipped out her hands on your porch or a disgruntle employee. There has been countless others posting saying they had no issues with even larger batteries that are almost double the weight. The packing is not the issue, the issue is the care of handling our items from the shipping companies. | These things will happen from time to time,no matter what brand, especially when the shipping is left to human error like said above.
  7. Since people are in here commenting that have nothing to do with the issue, and the issue is solved this is getting locked.
  8. Some of the intelligence and dishonesty on this forum purely amazes me!
  9. Well they should replace it then at their cost imo. I wouldnt wanted a damaged battery even if its only cosmetic. Its brand new and that dont look brand new. and would look horrible in a install if the batteries are being shown off. I just dont see why everone feels the need to get online and point fingers when you can contact them with a email which Im sure will get their attention much faster and be more professional. I know when I had an issue with one of my batteries this past winter I emailed XS Power and spoke a bit with Byron, told him what processes I went through to determine if it was the battery. I had the new battery already in transit from XS Power before I got the dang invoice in my email to pay it seemed. But doing what your doing is not the proper way to handle business imo. And if your so worried about shipping, you could of easily bought the batteries from Meade and picked them up yourself im sure since he is a dealer and in the same city.
  10. I have ordered about 13 D3100s, 2 S3400s, and 4 D3400s in the last 8 or so months for me and other builds I was behind from various online retailers. Never once have got a damaged battery in shipping. Only a few of the batteries from all that I ordered have broken styrofoam inside the box, and 1 battery had a crinkled up corner tear in the box. To me this would mean the packaging did its job since the batteries where not damaged. If the battery is damaged it would be due to poor handling in shipping it sounds like. I would contact the seller you got the batteries from and start there I dont see how you can point blame at XS Power for having poor packaging when its clearly a 3rd party shipping issue.
  11. Right. There needs to be an all of the above. Since it must sound good, it must get loud, and it must look great. After all it cant look and perform like the "WORLDS LOUDEST TRAILBLAZER"!
  12. Im torn between which to vote for.. Not enough decisions. I feel the daily driver system picture is looking a little too weak. I more fit the competition system, however I dont compete, but to me this is a daily driver system. hmmmmm
  13. Has anyone ever been propositioned by a 11 year old kid trying to sell you some bud while your walking into a shopping mall during school hours in the middle of winter? Its something that blew my mind when it happened to me. But I guess it was due to the lack of schooling and the lack of parenting because his parents are at work!! The more realistic explanation would have most likely been he was told or forced to sell this by his parant(s).
  14. This is what I dont agree with. So what if he is mentally challenged or retarded as you put it (which is now socially unacceptable to call a person). But the way you are saying it is, since he is mentally challenged it is okay for him to step towards the police with a knife after failing to abide by several commands. What are the police suppose to stand there and run a back ground check on him while he comes at them with a knife to find out if this guy has issues going on? Come on now.... Its like your giving him an excuse saying its okay for him to do what he did because of his condition. If his condition is so serious he shouldn't be roaming the streets freely. But hey if a mentally challenged guy goes and shoots up a school, a movie theater, or if a soldier that has done several tours in a foreign country and the army has noted his mental issues several times and has to see a psychologist its perfectly fine to look down upon that person for doing the mass shootings that they just did and call them a sick bastard. Sounds about right to me.......
  15. Why? This other guy in the same city just miles away from the other incident that this thread is about, is asking to be shot, comes towards the cops after being told to take his hand out of his pockets several times, then takes them out with a knife and proceeds to come towards the cops after being told to drop the knife.. This is just asking for it, and this guy was obviously dumb as a box of rocks to think nothing would happen giving the state of emergency that the city is currently in due to almost an idenctical act of violence with a guy robbing a convince store, and then after wards disobeying a officer, and physically assaulting him. I agree with with both officers in both cases judgement with shooting and killing those for what they did.. Again sure it was over petty theft however their actions after the theft is what lead to them being shot.... If it wasnt for the media choosing what to share on the news, and not tell the whole story of what happened, these riots would not of happened or at least bare minimum wouldn't of been to the extent that they where. However that does not fit medias agenda, reporting on a case of a guy robbing a store, assaulting an officer and the officer shooting him does not draw the same amount of attention to their views which results in much lower rating than if they go and say black man dead after officer shooting him in the back 8 times which is a much better headline and draws everyones attention in and gives them way better ratings. I didnt even hear about this other incident until this afternoon, and I usually watch the news a good bit and listen to a radio show that reports on this stuff. Its damn near the same case which is why I posted it in this thread with 17 pages of replies unlike the other thread that I found out about afterwards that is only 3 or 4 pages deep. But again, this new story didnt get anywhere near the same media attention because the video was out there and there really is not a way for media to twist it and report on half truths at best.
  16. Here is another police shooting in Ferguson Missouri only a few miles away from the other shooting. Guy robs the gas station for 2 cans of soda, clerk called the cops. Cops pull up and repeat several times to remove his hand from his pockets. Guy say shot me, shot me several times, pulls out his hands. Cops say drop the knife a couple times as the guy proceeds to walk towards the cops. Cops unload on him. http://www.ijreview.com/2014/08/170228-go-eye-witness-video-shows-missouri-police-shooting-knife-wielding-robbery-suspect/
  17. And for every video saying that a black inter-cooler works, there is a video saying it doesn't work. LOL
  18. Thee CCA wire will not get hot if its not being stressed.. It has a 250amp rating at 20feet, im running 19foot runs. Im fusing for 150amps most likely, therefor if there is an issue the fuse should blow long before a 250amp fuse. Depending on the fuses, they will most likely blow someplace around 175-200 amps if an issue ever pops up. At that point its still long before exceeding the limit of the wire. OFC wire as well can get warm and even hot to the point it melts of the rubber casing when you exceed the amperage limit of the wire, so that is kind of a moot point. Run for run OFC will win, however its not run for run of wire, its multiple 9 runs of CCA wire that costs half as much of 4 runs of ofc and carries the same amount of current, and with all these runs I am only needing each cca wire to handle around 150amps to satisfy the demand of the power i can make under the hood.
  19. Yes it is CCA wire, and before anyone goes on a OFC vs CCA thing again here is why... I bought this wire a couple years ago when I was on Team Audio Technix. I got a good price on the wire and bought a lot of it, but all the smaller 8 and 4 gauge wires I also got was used a long time ago. So with me running the CCA wire I was able to get a lot higher amperage handling compared to OFC wire for about half the cost (even with the team member price discount I could of gotten as well on the OFC wire). Yes I will need more runs of CCA compared to OFC but its half the price and only double the runs. When I fuse my wires I fuse for safety not for the wires rated amperage load like most do. If I do end up fusing to small and blow the fuses than I buy the next bigger size in fuses. Its a lot cheaper and easier than dealing with a vehicle being burnt to the ground. If I remember correct the wire is rated at 250amps for a 20foot run of wire. My runs are 19 feet long. So here is some quick simple math, now that the cheaper in price thing was said. I plan to fuse each positive wire in the front and the back (between both the front and rear battery banks) with either 150, 175, or 200 amp fuse. Not sure which yet For this breakdown I will use the 150amps per run which will not even come close to stressing the wire what so ever. So 9 runs of positive wire at 150 amps per run will total me 1350 amps of current and not even stressing the CCA wire one bit! I have 3 DC Power 390XP alternators capable of doing 390 amps of current each when cold which is the most they will do since the amperage output drops significantly when they are hot. So the 3 alternators come to a total of 1170 amps of current. So already I got 180 amps of overhead and once the alternators are hot I will get even more overhead. Now if this wire can truly handle 250 amps of current per 20foot run, it will handle slightly more being only 19foot runs. Even though I will be most likely fusing at 150amps per run the fuses will handle slightly more current before blowing. 9 runs at 250amps per run is 2250 amps of current these positive wires can handle. Run for run OFC wire will walk all over CCA wire, but unless the ratings of the CCA wire are completely false 2 runs of CCA should be able to handle more current than the single OFC wire and still be half the cost (at least in my case it was). Sure Id have to run less OFC wire, but since room for the wire is not an issue and the same could be done with CCA I used CCA. I will be using OFC wire from my alternators to my 2 front XS Power S3400's. I will also be using OFC wire from my rear batteries to my amplifiers. I will also be using OFC wire for my speaker wires for my woofers. These are the 3 areas where I feel OFC wire will benefit me more, and wont empty out the wallet.
  20. Not much of an update today but a slight one. Pulled out the majority of the old rear a/c lines. The lines have leaked many years ago and emptied the truck of freon (pretty common thing with these lines). I wanted to keep the rear a/c and use it to cool the amplifiers however I ended up going fairly wide with the wall and there was no way to fit it. I think I took pictures earlier in the thread taking apart the unit for its stupid strong blower motor which will suck in air from outside the vehicle (hence the second pvc fitting on the passenger side). Was removing some stupid strap under my truck and broke my bit Now I have to take a vacation from my hoe to work on this vehicle and completely gut it, put deadener through out, run power wire, integrate the Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 into the factory touch screen unit, and run speaker wires to the doors and install door speakers. It is a 2014 Dodge Journey. Wires all coming out the back pvc grommets(the 3 batteries are for the Dodge Journey and just needed a place to store them for the time being). lol These are the power wires running from front to back, just sprayed some black paint on them to make them blend in, will probably spray them with something thicker like bed liner for more protection from salty roads in the winter. pretty much the same thing on both sides so it dont pay to post pics of the same thing. Wires are attached to the bottom of the vehicle body above and to the side of the frame rails. Under the hood for the time being, need to install the new toolmaker battery blocks, but need fuses and fuse holders long before I can hook up the wires. Wheels back on the hoe and off the jack stands so I can move it out my way in the driveway for the Dodge.
  21. Thanks, I just need a crap load of boostcaps like you have!! One day... one day..... Still a crap load of other crap to decided on yet.
  22. Yea I was kinda lost on what to use, If I would of done the traditional grommets it would of been 18-22ish holes to drill once all the runs are back there and frame grounds, and then the issue of them taking up more floor space as well (i got to stay in a certain area for all rear batteries to fit side by side). Just went to the hardware store with the big brick of wires taped up in yellow electrical tape and started cruising through the isles to brainstorm. LOL
