  1. Or post up a picture of them. Between Boon, Loburbon, or me, Im sure we will know. Said Model history Boon mentioned. But they are lacking on a few images/series. http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/model_history/default.asp
  2. Yea, he runs ID subs in his walled civic that did like a 146 something on a burp with a DD M4 amp (Mic on dash, and doors open)!!! Pretty shameful score for a walled vehicle and a 4800watt amp, I remember the score simply because it is oppisite of my boy coreys van that burps a 164 and some change. Tho later on after the show, he put a dd Z1 in the car, and got it to break a 150. I guess they had some major issues on how to wire the subs up. They where out of phase and what not, along with a high impedance load like 5 ohms on the DDM4 amp. But they got it hitting which is all that matters once they figured out the bugs And RJ (siucsaluki11) knows some of the DOA guys, at least he said he did when I spoke with him this afternoon on the phone. I was going to join DOA all pretty cool people, but they kicked my buddy of the team because he wont run DD or AQ gear, and that is a requirement for the team. Thought that wasnt cool since Matt helped them guys out alot and thats pretty shady to me. AudioConnection also did a Install on Arnies (sp) smart car with a single amp, single sub, and a pair of the high-end dd components. Sounded VERY clean!!
  3. Goto a dealer, or call DD. If they are a older motor, your best bet is to send them into dd for the recone, so they can get you hooked up right. Because the specs do change from the older to newer motors and the current line may not fit in a older motor or vice versa.
  4. My 18inch baskets where a bit less then that. Needless to say they are cheap like boon and James say! Ygpm with my number, hit me up!! There is also a dealer in Kenosha, WI called AudioConnections. The owner is Italian I think, really cool guy, met him when we did a db drag even for his store. Im across the lake from you! You could take a carferry here. LOL
  5. I use to have a cda 9833 in pretty good condition. Sold it to some kid in WI for like 130shipped. He is or was on this site too. I miss the deck alot, compaired to the new day stuff.. Still love my alpines, but I think they sold out after the 9833 and 35 I still like this style of headunit too http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-CD-Player-EQ-Co...id=p3286.c0.m14
  6. The composite cones only go down to 10 inchers anyways But not needed on a 8, but the CF dustcaps are still made to fit.
  7. True, but he sportin the old hoe like me, but mine is newer. Was thinkin bout changing my name too 99HOEONSIXTEENZ :yahoo: :yahoo:
  8. Well the largest (8inch) carbon fiber dust cap is way under $65 MSRP, cant give out exact prices, so Im high ballin them a good bit And depending on how you got it with your dealer like if your a returning customer, he can give you a nice break on pricing. Any other info, just ask me, or even bourbin, he knows a bit about teh products too EDIT: Just noticed your in CHI? Im in Sheboygan Wi, under 3 hours from you. Depending on what your looking for I could hook you up nice, but you would have to drive here.
  9. I think youll be fine with a standard cone DD. Just upgrade to a carbonfiber dustcap. They come in many different sizes (4.5inch for the 1508s, 5.6inch, 6.5inch, and 8inch which are on my 9518s). The dustcap alone will stiffing up the standard cone a lot!! DD also has a newer paper cone they are using with some sort of reinforcement on the back side. Ive seen it on the 2500 series and 95Z series we have in the shop, tho it looks like the 1500 series is still the standard paper cone. Im really not sure if it adds rigity to the cone or not. Been meaning to ask everytime I talk to Brad, but I keep forgetting! In the past, Ive had 2 DD3515s, powered by 2 dirrrrrty audiobahn hct2300 amps something like 2400wrms of pur clipped power. The subs are now in my buddies car and still holding up. So I guess the cones are a great upgrade if your a baller and want something cool and different looking, or if you have a lot of back pressure, or lots of power and you keep folding cones.
  10. Not to mention the composite cone gives has a lesser pitch, giving you more of a flat cone. When you look at most woofers you see the cone comes straight down to the spiders, With the composite cones (depending on the woofer size) you have about .75-1.25 inches between the spider and the bottom of the cone. Some say it changes the sound of the woofer, but I cant notice anything really. Also the cones are reusable, so if you ever need a recone all you need is the surround, spider, coil. Im a Dealer, but cant give pricing on them over the internet, you would have to call your local dealer or DD direct. But there are 3 different types of composite cones (yellow kevlar like what is on the old 9900series woofers, with no reinforement, then the colored composite cones, and the straight up carbon fiber cones) 9918 with kevlar cone 9518s (composite cone) / 9918 Reinforments on the kevlar composite cones
  11. nailing all the way... That is if you have what you need to nail 200% quicker then screwing!
  12. I say real. If this is fake, then so is Steve mick breaking his glass, and tearing his door, and Frankie tearing his roof is fake too. Pressure caused it to break, you can see the pressure bow the window before it breaks
  13. I cant add anyone else to my farm tonight, it says im out of invites, so I can only accept them now
  14. interfire aint nothin worthwhile fixing, all that is is a spiced up sony, unless something easy to fix is wrong with it. same with Koiiler. From a google search, they look like a knock off Boss audio. Could be wrong. Db r is good, but what boon said is pretty accurate i think.
  15. It maybe because they where doing a lot of updating on it tonight. I know its been up and down a few times that could cause the error maybe. I got 1 friend request from someone, think it might be loudblazer. but when i click it, it dont show anyone to accept and it still stays there after refreshing the page. it weird lol edit. it let me accept petey finally. LOl damn facebook!! If your added, ask to be my neighbor on farmville if i forgot to request anyone!!! Thanks Lol
  16. ^^^ Kinda how I started out at first. But i got a easy way to level up, but its very tedious and you need a lot of coins to do it. hah All sent invites have been accepted so far, still need more friends!!!!!! Im also needing gifts to complete my ribbons in "not spoiled, gifted". I need: plum tree peach tree Apricot tree pig lime tree banana tree passion fruit tree date tree Pomegranate Tree Olive Tree All the other gift items not listed above I already have in my inbox and have doubles of. So if you can gift anything on that list, Ill gift back.
  17. Im needing more friends to unlock more options for my farm. So if you play Farmville add me. I try to send out gifts to everyone everyday, and if your looking for something special to get ribbons I try to help. Mr Duck aka Assman aka Randy K with the Asstro also plays it too!! My facebook is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=1112715376
  18. I dont know about calling their products poo. That could get you banned very easily for bashing a supporting companies product. Besides, the box is not plastic, Its wood most likly 5/8inch thick unfortunatly. The plastic is just added in to spice the apperance up. Rockford Fosgate does the same with their loaded speaker boxes that come with p1s and p2s. But those must be junk too ehh? If the end result is the audiophile doesnt have the tools to build a box himself, or the know how. Qlogic makes a excellent product for the novice users, but they will never compair to a custom box built to the drivers specs.
  19. to a extent I agree. Theres many reasons I wouldnt run a prefab tho, like unheard distortion. I guess it depends how much you value your subs. Most bandpass prefab boxes are pretty peaky with a not much of a flat response, and tuned in the 40-45hz region. Id personally take said 55$, buy a 25$ sheet of mdf, a $7 bottle of titebond 3, and a $3 box of screws and make my own box, and with the $20 you saved buy some resin for the inside, and carpet for the outside
  20. I am on there too, I remember talking to you a few times on it, I seen the name polecat, and was like hell no!! So I had to ask to be sure.. Lots of usefull info on the sites, just not much audio info unless your a hack
  21. Almost forgot... BigPimpin on these forums is running the AudioQue Hd3's. I think he has 2 now, and he is tuned at 28 or 29hz if I remember correctly... So that totally makes your FS argument useless.
  22. So umm, your not willing to use this woofer because of its FS? Are you planning on a Free Air setup? You do know that the FS really has nothing to do with how you tune your box correct? The FS is the resonance frequency of the driver. If you free air the driver you will have the biggest impedance peak at the drivers FS frequency. Using the copper coil or the aluminum coil on the driver will change the drivers FS, as well as the speakers moving mass, spiders, etc.
  23. DD 3512s Tho the AQ hd3 12s can take a beating and keep playing.. Price wise, I dont think you can beat the AQs. I know lots of people (actually a whole team) running them subs (but 15s and 18s) and they are giving them tons of power. from 2krms-4krms PER SUB, and doing it DAILY with 35-40 hz tuning.
  24. Longtime no see Mr Polecat. Welcome back!!
