Back on topic.... lgn0213, I have never known for the insurance company to go out and buy what they want.. It just dont work that way, you get estimates, they think about the fair price and cut you a check, sometimes they put the name of the company on the check who will do the work, sometimes they wont... Bottom line is they wont go and buy this stuff and give it to you, it all sounds to fishy to me, Like Ray said, get the money and buy it yourself. yes, it would be and thats why I said. Is your engine made of plastic? most likely your block, heads, brackets bolted to the block and head are some type of aluminum or steel, so it will allow the flow of current. Unless it is after all plastic?

Kind or worse, in a way. the grounding of the alternator to the chassis is pointless because the engine is going to be one of the best grounds and well the alternator is bolted to the engine. Thats why you ground engine to battery negative to eliminate the use of the grounding strap that is used on some vehicles, with this done your alt and engine will be grounded as one in a way. You could however remove the alternator to chassis ground, and ground alternator to battery negative, which would be almost the same as grounding to the engine. Also ground battery to chassis. and if you got enough extra positive wire, run a thicker wire from battery positive to the fusebox replacing the small gauged wire used by the factory, may help even more in dimming lights.

It should sound warm. I just say go with the polks because if your not supplying enough wattage to keep up with the subs, you can always add more amps to your mids and tweets due to the higher rms rating. Where as if you go with something like the pg's if you put more power to them you may fry them rather easily, then have to buy new again.

same thing is going on in milwaukee wi. I got pulled over a few months back for driving thru the hood bumping my stereo. (not really the hood, but down on North ave, its pretty ghetto and a big oxycotten/drug/gang neighbor hood). Cops asked why I was in the area and wanted to search my car. I told him its the quickest way for me to get too the mall, he said sure it was, I told him see the bags in the back seat, that backs up my story. I said if he wanted to search my car he can wait for my lawyer... Now keep in mind Im in a bad black neighbor hood, a white guy and a mexican in a caddy with rims. Cops proboly thought we where dealers and what not, but there was much worse going on in the hood then a damn stereo. Im tempted to call the cops anytime I hear a car with loud exhaust, or a harly creeping down the street. If they want too nitpick, I can also do so.

Hard to say, make sure you gains on your amp are done since they are only rated at 60rms I know I put 250+ to each of my polk momo 5.25s and they took it for quite some time, I think the 5.25s have a smaller power rating then the 6.5s.

Ditto, mb quarts before maxxsonics buyout a+++ and made nice quality drivers with crazy good crossover networks and pretty much the best you could buy in a way. after maxxsonics buyout, they seem to dropped the price a lot, and become not as high end and cheaped on parts.

Dont go mb quart unless you want really bright tweeders which are perfect for the best SQ aint that right nismofreak? Opps I fogot he got banned.. LOl anyways But yea, I have expierence with those polk momos, but 5 1/4", not the 6.5s. They took a bit of power, sounded crystal clear, and had really nice bass response. Ive also used another set of 6.5s in my buddys boss's boat and they where just great they where momos too but some older ones i think. My next choice would be the alpines. great for the price and offer a silk dome tweeter. Anything with an aluminum, metal, titainium dome tweeter is going to be harsh and loud to the ear (but to some people that sounds good and has more sq then the hoopty)... I really use to love the old school mb quart before they became a maxxsonics product, and the quality just dropped imo. Back to the beer i go
