  1. My condolences go out to his family and friends. That is such a tragic loss.
  2. Those are some promising ideas. I figured out that the Metra dash kit that I have in there now won't work at all for this, because the top two parts that snap into the dash are attached to the rear compartment, so if I cut that off, then nothing would hold it in place. Luckily I found that the Scosche dash kit made for my car (http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-FD1327B-1995-Up-Storage-Pocket/dp/B0007KK22E) has a detachable storage pocket, and it appears to mount from the top of the kit itself, so not having the storage pocket in there shouldn't matter. I'm gonna order that one, because it should stand a fighting chance of working if I dremel it out a little bit lol.
  3. That sounds like a good idea, but the EQ didn't come with any screws, or even screw holes in it :/
  4. Alright, that seems like a good idea, but how exactly would I screw the EQ into the dash kit? There aren't any mounts that came with it other than the ones for mounting it directly to the dash, which I think would look hideous.
  5. This is gonna sound stupid, but what does iso mount mean? The rest of the idea sounds promising though.
  6. Does anyone know of a dash kit that offers that? I just bought a Clarion EQS746, and I am trying to figure out the best way to install it on top of my head unit. Would anyone have any suggestions on how to go about modding the adapter that I already have? Its a Metra, but the storage slot is a little too small to fit the EQ through. I know that I would obviously have to cut the inside of the storage slot out of the adapter, but from there I'm not sure what to do. IE: how to actually mount it to the adapter or dash. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  7. That actually is what I meant lol, They have a 6 meter 4 channel set for $22, a 2 channel 6 meter set for $14, and a 2 channel 1/2 meter set for $6 in the Karma series, so it actually seems really reasonable. However, I was just looking at the cables in the link, and they use RG59 coaxial cable, which I have been reading about, and it seems to be pretty good lol.
  8. Even the Knuconceptz RCA's are $42+ shipping for the Karma series for everything I would need, and the Krystal series would be $58+ shipping. So even their RCA's are really reasonable, and I woudn't say $50 is a very "cheap" price point, considering the good quality of wire I could get form Knuconceptz for that price. I'm leaning more towards the Karma series, mostly because they have a 1/2 meter cable which i need to go from my headunit to my EQ in stock in that seriesm and its not in stock in the Krystal series.
  9. I'm going to be needing some more RCA cables soon, as I'm about to install a 4 channel amp. I was wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, maybe $50 or so maximum for a short set to go from my EQ to the headunit, and then 3 sets of about 20 ft. each. I found this link: http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?spcDB=10218&spcWord=Audio+Cables+-+RCA+%26+3.5mm&keyword=premium%20rca in another post, and I was considering those, but I'm unsure about their quality, as I haven't really heard of anyone running them. I was also thinking about some RCA's from Knuconceptz, either the Karma, or Krystal series most likely, because they both seem affordable, and come in the sizes that I need. If anyone has any other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated as well!
  10. It is a little big lol. Thats not really an issue for me though, but It will probably be a month or so before I buy either one. I'm waiting on the next run of Skar VVX component sets, and they won't be in stock until August 5th. So in the mean time, I'm trying to get everything else together, and then just do one big install of it all lol.
  11. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I'm kind of leaning more towards the MB Quart that Joe X mentioned, mainly because it seems like a fairly reputable brand, and its only 5 watts more than the RMS rating of the speakers that I'm going to buy per channel, vs. 10 lol.
  12. Thanks man! That one actually seems like it would be better lol. Have you ever heard one for yourself?
  13. I'm thinking that for the price, one of these amps seems pretty decent, but I'm not sure about how good the sound quality would be. If I got one I would be using it to power the Skar audio VXI component system. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
  14. How are you liking that amp? I'm thinking for my purposes, it seems like a good option, especially at that price. I'm leaning heavily towards the new 6.5 component set Skar is coming out with, if and when I upgrade my speakers. Does it put out a true 100 RMS? Or is it overrated any? I'm just a little skeptical about this brand lol but its sooo tempting for the price! Definitely does rated at the very least, sounds great and a very solid performer. The better lines are the Reference, Tarantula, D Tower and X. Though out of my price range the Reference is my absolute favorite all around solid performer and Soundstream is under new ownership so they are revamping the line it isn't so cheap and flea market anymore. The D Tower and X are just out of price range and the Tarantula series is to "blingy" and cheap looking for my tastes. I would personally stay away from the Picasso series if you can, not the best of the Soundstream and it lacks quality. The few I have installed and seen used heat up too hot to touch. Never go into protect but shouldn't get that hot anyway, I also noticed it distorted quickly on the DD-1 (using the SQ track). How are you liking that amp? Still to get the Soundstream highend http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUNDSTREAM-REF4-760-760-WATTS-4-CHANNEL-REFERENCE-, OS-/170574540433?pt=Car_Amplifiers&vxp=mtr&hash=item27b708ee91 beutiful in sound and power. In your pricerange class AB stable down till 1 ohm http://www.ebay.com/...=item4164d82cb9. If you are unsure about the true RMS output, have a look at the fusing of the amp. Think the yellow fuses are 20 amp fuses x 3 = 60 amp, so its fused for round 600 watt´s RMS. I looked over the Rub 4.600 My favorite of the Soundstream line if you really want quality then go for this one I would love to get one. I have an older Reference 405 that's being used in my Tahoe right now. As far as the Rubicons go they do what they say they do. I have the Rubicon 4.600 and 2 1.2500's no complaints over here. Thanks for the input man. I'm thinking the rubicon seems like a good option when it comes time. I just hope that the Skar component sets wouldn't miss out in that extra 30 watts RMS they are rated for if I go with those lol. I didn't realize Skar is doing components I need to look into those but I highly doubt there is that much of an audible difference in 30w. Yeah they are, and they seem pretty nice looking. Thanks for you input on the amp also!
  15. Thar looks really nice actually, but I would definitely have some saving to do first lol

  18. That doesn't look too bad, and it looks like its down to about $150 now on amazon. How do you like it, and hows the quality? so far from using it to run my polk db6501s for about 3 months now, that amp is a beast. never been into protect mode with the gains turned 3/4 of the way up, and the head unit at damn near max volume for a half hour to an hour at a time. for a budget amp, its pretty solid imo. Thanks man, I'll have to look into that some more!

  20. I was actually looking into that amp! lol I'll have to find out about the Crescendo too though. Thanks for the input!
  21. What is a good four channel amp with good sound quality with around 100-130 RMS at 4 ohms? I would like to stay in the $250 to $300 price range if possible, but something less expensive than that would definitely a plus lol. Any opinion would be greatly appreciated!
  22. I know this. I'm just looking for opinions, I don't want to have an all out forum war about this lol its really not that important, I was just interested on weather or not anyone with more experience than I have would be gracious enough to offer their opinion.
