  1. Its interesting, throught my entire career of installing/car audio retail store owner I never sold that many 8's But since we started selling them we sold ALOT of 8's I was amazed at how many people buy them. I have one in my own car and smashes. And it took me bugging you long enough to make them Now produce me a 800x2 KTHXBYE
  2. Piston driver cone 6.5's like the old RF drivers. Nice comp set, not the pro driver shit everyone is copying right now. shallow mounts.
  3. So I guess depending on when you are requiring the current in "time" would depend on where the electrical return path would come from. Car off, the grounding path of the whole car returns back to the battery. Car starting, uses the return from that same said battery source path. Car running, alternator as grounding point. Okay, I'll agree with that. So why in your other "simple" question, would the ground wire from the block to the battery not be useful? After all the battery is there as a maintaining source for when the electrical consumes more voltage then the alt can deliver. Would you not want to decrease resistance so the flow recovery is that much faster? I think depending on the electrical demand, the battery, or batteries are very much an important part of the circuit.
  4. 4 Pages over a damn invoice.............. By the way Mario, there is a freight offload fee when I have to fire up the forklift. I think when I build the framework, I will use the extra long screws so they pop out of the roof. Then we can call the car pinhead.
  5. So my understanding is: Charge: Alt to battery Return: Battery to chassis. Return Battery to Alt case. (the block in general terms) The reason being, some cars have a weak grounding strap from the chassis to the engine. Which we all know, sits on rubber isolation supports.
  6. Start of another successful day of workin on the X. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to a buildlog :ninja:

  7. If I can make changes to the speaker enclosure to better match the overall response I am looking for out of my soundstage, without the use of processing to do it,then I'm sold
  8. Jesus. between this, the VU-din and VM-1 i'll be spending quite a bit of money here soon. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. It will be very interesting to actually see what is going on with how my system is set up and help me make some changes to improve on it.
  9. I think a sealed box is easier to fuck up then ported. IB is a great choice in a true SQ setup. It's allows the sub to help breath into the setup and not overpower it.
  10. If you actually build boxes in a shop and not just grab prefabs out of the stock room, then designing and building a ported box takes no more time then sealed.
  11. I think it is important to ask what do you consider SQ in regards to the substage? For me, I am finding out now that I don't like to "hear" the sub but rather feel it add to the overall presence of the music. I think when your ears draw you back when you hear the subs, it's too much in the overall sound of the car. SQ is the exact opposite of what we are looking for in spl.
  12. What I have found when sealing off the trunk is the cabin peak skyrocket. If you don't have the extra airspace of that trunk anymore, You will need to adjust your box tuning. Or find a class where you can bang with windows down.
  13. I like a sub with a high motor strength in a well designed ported or BP box
  14. Looks like it. http://www.termpro.com/asp/officialevent.asp?EventID=12971
  15. Too bad you are out of practice. Its like a riding a bike don't even trip....... Do I hear a Monetary challenge? I'm always open to a gentleman's wager
  16. I think it really depends on what your system expectations are. If you are looking for a basic "upgraded" sound, but want it to look good, then matching gear is important. If you are looking for an all out sound, then you want to cherry pick what is going to work the best. Sadly, most main brand, full line card companies have lost focus on making a very nice well rounded product line. Some guys have very nice decks, and so so on the amps and speakers. Others do very well in amps and can't build a sub to handle the power their amps make. It sucks, but I can't blame them. The consumer for the most part ( not us fanatics on stereo forums ) are just out to get a little better then what they had. Not too many of the retail market care about quality like customers years past. The manufactures are left fighting the battle to zero. All the while leaving their retail partners out in the cold to make little money to have qualified experts in their stores to sell quality products.
  17. I have it on my truck. Works great. No issue at all with it. It's nice to know that even when at a questionable distance from the truck, you still know what is going on.
  18. Thanks man. Did you mount one in your mirror yet? Got pics? Not yet. picking it up when I grab the volt meter too.Just waiting on Steven to text me when it's ready BTW, you suck for beating me to my idea
