  1. Well of course it wouldnt when you dont have to pay for the amps your view point is interesting...because william spends more than some peoples yearly income on his car audio hobby.
  2. my personal theory on it, since i tend to be involved in the truck alot, is that maybe the 3500's want something a little different as far as impedance goes, that maybe the 2500's are just a little less sensitive to. i personally feel that the 3500's should be great amps in just about any install. of course, we also have to realize that the enclosure in the truck was never really intended for the level of equipment that is currently in it. the reactive load in this install is so stupid low, that i think its just right on the verge of what will work and what wont.
  3. just talked to will on the phone. lets just say i feel sorry for anyone at that show. they are using a tiny ass laptop, screen smaller than my ipad, with an outdated termlab, and no external display. yes, you read that right, NO DISPLAY FOR THE COMPETITORS!!!!!!! they dont have bass boxing on their software, so they are having to do bass boxing with bass race software. and yes, this is a fucking triple point show. this is the most half assed shit ive ever heard of, and amazingly its at a fucking 3x show.
  4. preciate it 30" wide, 10" high & 9" deep at the bottom & 6" deep at the top 0.875 cubes tuned to 32Hz well, your close anyways bro. i still have the drawing of the box.
  5. knowing my luck, i will end up starting my astro at the same time steve starts his.
  6. its turning into one of those guns and roses chinese democracy type deals.........
  7. I believe a guy on here named PurpleHaze is selling 4 of the vvx 15s. Could be sold but it cant hurt to take a look if you're interested i dont want used subs.
  8. i have an ivx-v2 10" in my single cab pickup on a busted hifonics 4 channel. still getting 137db on the dash on termlab at 36hz though. its a decent sub. best i figure its getting about 80 watts rms. that being said, im thinking about jumping to a vvx 15, but only if i can get my hands on a v1. --edited to fix spelling fails
  9. i cant decide... box rise FTW or box rise FTL......
  10. those people running .5ohm probably have heaps of box rise working to their advantage as well, which is also another indicator of a bad box design. if the amps were meant to be run at .5 ohm, then they would be rated at .5ohm instead of 1 ohm. im just trying to keep you from costing yourself some money via being hardheaded. but you are going to do what your going to do anyways, so go ahead. run your amp at .5ohm give your subs 1,000+rms each when your subs and your amp are dead i hope kevin has paid enough attention to know just how bad you are abusing all 3 pieces of equipment and that you are running this in a manner that voids all the warranties.
  11. it is never acceptable to run your equipment beyond manufacturers specifications. masterwill's 4runner is all run within spec. the subs are running below their rated rms power, and the amp are wired strapped at 2ohms. you dont have to go full retard with your ohm loads to get loud, just build a better box.
  12. well if its a common chamber enclosure, then no sir, 6 cubes is not what is recommended. a single 15 at 3ft^3, i can go with that. but in common chamber enclosures, a single 6ft^3 volume doesnt have the same response, per woofer, as 2 single 3ft^3 volumes. you lose alot of back pressure on the subs when you make that assumption. if your running very low power though, this can help out a little by making the enclosure more efficient. this is where most people go wrong with common chamber enclosures. this is directly relative to your mechanical power handling. Hugh G - Wondering how you calculate proper air space for a common chamber enclosure? its just something you have to take on a case by case basis. more back pressure can help up to a certain point depending on power, but too much back pressure and you start busting cones / neck joints / slinky coils.

  14. I ran this sub at .5 for about an hour. amp got so hot i couldnt touch it for longer than 5 seconds. I dont have the electrical to run .5=[ but it got loud as hell! you shouldnt run amp below their ratings. just because an engine will spin 9,000rpm, that doesnt make it a good idea.
  15. looks nice. i actually kinda like the yellow stitching, but i know somewhere some idiot would see that and try to compare it to a kicker comp.
  16. my headache is finally gone, we gonna have some more fun saturday morning. wonder what numbers we come up with next time when we find the peak note...
  17. since the v1's are freed up, looks like its time to bring the pt cruiser over.... we need another demo car for when someone comes over.
