in my opinion, JL is a powerhouse in the general public market because they have been around longer and they are a bigger company. If you give the same kind of budget they have to Fi or DC, the product would obviously get more popular. My friend has two 10W7s and they sound pretty good in his mustang, then my other friend has two DD 3510s in the back of his truck and he does hair tricks. I guess its mostly the general public going to audio shops and asking for the best woofer, and most shops carry JL. (meaning the most expensive woofer they have is the best one)
