shoot me a PM. Just finished a metric box for a pair of 9515's.
-
the difference in size is a little less than a 16th of an inch total, so about half that on each side. i'm tempted to try the SA recones just to see if it will work.. Sucks that they use weird coil sizes with their woofers. doesn't completely surprise me though.
-
I'm not sure about the coil size on the 15's but i've got a blown to smithereens CVX 12 that i took apart. I measured a 2.5" coil, which is the same as the SA coils, but i've been told that they're somehow different from the SA's so the recone wouldn't work right. i'm not sure if the 15's would be different since kicker advertises them to handle more power. i've still got everything sitting across from me so lmk if you want me to measure anything.

Not bad for 4 12's in a 4th. It looks like the wardens are neo's?

might explain why my zx2500.1 survived a car wash with the trunk ajar. -

Get a DD-1 and set your gains with it Get a multi meter and put the positive and negative leads on the speaker terminals (respectively). turn the dial so it will read off the ohm load at the amp, then tell us what it reads. -
Shoot me a PM man. Might be able to build you something custom.
-
^what he said. but it's not the most noticeable thing in the world. may help a little bit on the meter by a matter of tenths of a decibel, but not incredibly louder. It might sound smoother though. IMO, It's worth doing, but if you can't manage it, it's not a big deal.

Better on gas too since you'd have about half the weight back there.
-
45's don't change anything, as long as you make them the right size
-
well... yes, it will. Hopefully it sounds better

Do what irpirate said. Cap the port on both ends and run sealed. You're about 4-6 cubic feet short of having the right volume for a ported box. And that's not even touching proper port area and port length.
-
oh dear... that looks like the one carshateme designed and built... in fact i'm pretty sure that's the one. i'm sorry you got such a shitty box, OP.

Is it possible to reduce vent mach without changing port?
412 CVX replied to Krayzie's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Do you truly want to learn about sound waves or are you just trying to eliminate port noise? -
appreciate the input, but boss subs suck. i have an 01 mercury sable, practically the same car, and trust me, you don't have the room to run a pair of 15's without cutting up your trunk. a NICE pair of 12's will be plenty for your car. shoot me a PM for a box design, and stop looking at that prefab shit. look into some obsidian audio 12's. they're great little woofers for the price.

The only thing i can think of is flaring the port if it's port noise you're trying to avoid. Maybe i'm misreading, but what is it exactly that you're trying to accomplish?
