Well I finally ordered my basic installation technician study guide. I love this hobby and I am trying to possibly make it a career. I know, if I do eventually get an installer position I wont only be installing audio, but all car related electronics intrigue me..... I feel like I'm finally going for something I really want to do (work related). Is there any advice or suggestions any of you can give me that might help me? Is it really worth it to get the certification? (hopefully because I already made an investment)lol. Like would it help to land me a job as a basic installer? (I know experience is what is perferred but...... Gotta start somewhere right?)

You only measure the inner dimensions you do not count the wood when you calculate port size, width or length And From what I understand to accurately measure the port length you measure directly in the center of the port.

That sucks man.... But just because it's rebuilt does'nt mean they dont owe you, it's not your fault they suckass if you would have known it was'nt going to work you would'nt have bought it you know? Soo I'd be whooping some ass if they said I was SOL for their shitty craftsmanship.B/c you would atleast have a working alt if it was'nt for them, correct? And they should've upgraded the regulator also...... -
But is it 1500rms altogether?

Yeah they think they can play you or give you the run around, like DjCrush said TELL them How they will solve your problem and do not take no for an answer, they believe they have a noob on there hands and you might be but they dont know that. Just make sure the next time you talk to them let them know they cant play you sooo give you your money back and for them to take their shitty alt and shove it.lol -

Lol this ftw... -
Laugh. Lol naw but really those subs are pretty beast imo, as long as you're not clipping 1500 rms a piece? Would be fine as long as you have everything set up correctly. Now if it's 1500rms for the pair not a piece I'd go with one hdc3 or two sd2.5's if you go with AQ.

One wire can only be on the alt = bs They just dont want to own up and replace or fix your alt they fucked up..... Let them know you are no dummy and they owe you some money or a fixed alt. -
I went from L7 15"s to AQ hdc3 12"s and can I say WIN!!

Bs... It's easy to just throw blame on something they dont know about, instead ogf just suckin it up and handeling business. -
How long the port is....
-
I'd rather have the MT personally...... But that's just me...... That power should be fine for it, although it could take more........ What car would it be going in?
-
I'd say get 100-150$ ATLEAST...... What would you be using it for? A dd or spl? And what amp?
-
The MT is a good spl sub and it can also be a good DD but that trade isnt fair for you.
-
Keep the sa's. That's not a very fair trade at all imo

I have a 2000 camry. Their could be wiring problems you might want to check that(as in loose connection ect..) if it is the latch itself go get a new one at a junk yard for a whopping 10$ or so.... But just so you know you can get the hood open just get a good stern pull up and it will open just as you pulled the lever in the car.. I was doing some work on my car before(this is how I found out) and had the battery disconneted, shut the hood and didnt realize I couldnt open it back up without electricity soo I thought I would have to fuck something up trying to get it back open. Good thing there's a few mechanics in my family to help me in my dumbass moments.
