  1. That is the shit. I won't be doing any comps but I am glad to see that the DC sub likes the AQ amp. That is what I am going with too. Good job and good luck man. Crazy for just one sub.
  2. This is why I don't mess with powerbass anymore. They had great CS but I had issues with subs and amps I got from them. Just overall wasn't very satisfied with the product for what I paid for it. Get it fixed or replaced again, and buy a real amp! Get a DC or an SA...Hell if you are tight on cash, buy an AQ....
  3. Audioque1200D Good amp....Cheap price... Soundstream has some good stuff too.
  4. DC audio level 3 12's x2 with an AQ2200D amp...ought to sound pretty good. Oh yea, and my 440 scope plus is also getting ordered!

  5. even though the problem is solved i thought id point this out just because your amp says 600 watts rms doesn't mean that all the subs are seeing 600 watts. you have a mono amp which means all your subs split the power. an amp cannot just make up 600 watts for all 4 subs (that would be 2k watts and that t500bd just couldn't do it) so all in all your subs are seeing around 150 watts if you really are getting 600 watts out. then again your gain is set at 1/10 so its probably 50-100 watts/sub just saying build a new box and get some more power and you should have a bumpin system! This X2 MOAR POWER!
  6. What terminals? My biggest problem is my lack of knowledge, not budget... Tell me what I need, specifically please, in terms a noob like me would understand... When you say terminals I assume you mean something like this. Stinger SHT301 Hpm Stereo Expert Battery Terminals I have looked into these, but my factory connections that connect to the battery have to slide over the posts, so how would I work that out? I assume just remove factory connections and tie them in?? This is what I would get Something like that will do. Those jaunts with the voltmeter reading on them are just too dang much, and you are never going to use them unless you stand there with the hood of your car open...Spend less on the terminals, and buy yourself a voltage gauge to put inside your car! Make sure you get the right ones for your size of wire though.
  7. Do you know anything about RF? There stuff is ALWAYS underrated. That 50 watts is probably more like 100watts rms.... I just want to let you know that comparing pioneer to rockford is like apples and oranges man...pioneer is walmart stuff....for the most part.
  8. Dude, I know you are on a budget like everyone else, but get yourself some new damn terminals. That might be part of your problem.
  9. I know for a fact that those Pioneer subs slam, and bumb and rumble and do all sorts of crazy stuff. I don't have any experience with the AQ subs, but like I said, I know those pioneer subs slap.
  10. DC subs are great. Check out Audioque amps too, for power and price they are tough to beat. I plan on 2 DC level 3 12's with an AQ2200...
  11. Dude, run the positive of both subs to the positive bridges connection on the amp, then run the negatives from both subs to the negative bridged connection on the amp. Use the existing terminals and bitch slap the guy who set up your system the next time you see him because he is a tool.
  12. Dual 2 is dual 2 ohm voice coils. Dual 4 is dual 4 ohm voice coils. If you are more into researching this, look up ohms law and do a little bit of research on here. Basically, can make the amp see different impedances(ohms) from your subwoofers. A single Dual 4 ohm sub can be wire to either 2 ohms or 8 ohms. A single Dual 2 ohm woofer can be 1 ohm or 4 ohms. The more woofers you wire together, the more complicated it gets, especially when you are new to this whole thing. If your amp is only stable at 1 ohm, and you have too many subs of a certain Voice coild design and impedance, it can represent problems.
  13. I will do a free product test on it, so I can set the gain on my new amp when I get it! All joking aside though, I really want one of these things. I am going to be doing a few installs this summer and I NEED to HAVE ONE!
  14. Look it up on here, as there are SEVERAL threads with many knowledgeable people on how to set gains and settings on amps. With that amp though, it is very important, because it has the potential to push those subs to their RMS, but they are not very clean power, which will create a good bit of heat and if not set properly, it will burn up your subs. You could also you tube it. I am a visual kind of person and learn better from watching, not reading.
  15. It doesn't matter, they are still single Voice coild 4 ohm subs. Make sure they are wired the way the RF model shows you to wire them and you should be bumpin like a maniac. BTW that legacy amp is probably putting out closer to 500 maybe 700 RMS bridged at the most. You should be able to bump them pretty good, but don't just go cranking your gain away, you need to PROPERLY adjust the gain and settings on the amp to make sure you don't overheat them and blow them. Legacy amps aren't too great so I would upgrade to something better in the near future. Audioque AQ750 would probably do all right for you. Cheap too. Put some real clean power to those subs<---when you can afford it.
  16. OK, so you have 2 4 ohm single voice coil subs. With a 2 channel bridgeable amp, probably nom Impedance of 2 or 4 ohms. This is how you need to wire them to get 2 ohm load to your amp. RF Wiring wizard
  17. Oh word...I got ya. Yea, more info would be nice. Dual VCs? Ohms? What type of amp is it? Channels? WE NEED INFO MAN! But we are here to help, non the less. Sounds like maybe the impedance is wrong if it got quieter. What type of subs are they?
  18. I loled at that! That is awesome. If I would build something like that I would have to do 2 of em, I have twins, a boy and a girl. But they would get a kick out of that for their brithday this year. Gives me bad ideas.... My wife is going to be PISSED! Haha
  19. Amp bridging That is just a VERY basic diagram of bridging.
  20. That doesn't really make too much sense...when you bridge a two channel amp to one channel, that is called bridging. When you take a 4 channel amp and bridge it to two channels, that is called bridging. Taking subs that are hooked up to one channel and hooking them up to 2 channels is unbridging. If there were such a word...
  21. BTW I think the DC amp will handle it. It is a pretty beastly amp. But, I agree with above, I would probably get more amp and run a little higher impedance.
  22. but i hear that most subs are ruined by being underpowered and my amp is sorted becoming goofy it is loud sometimes and quiet others (after i start my car) and it is worrying me Take no offense from this statement at all. QUIT BEING GOOFY, SAVE UP, AND BUY AN AQ AMP! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
  23. That is why I roll with D4 VCs in my daily whip....I would rather push 1 ohm than .5 ohm on a daily, that is for sure. Too hard on stuff. You could also just run 18V and get some extra juice out of it!
  24. There aren't any XS power dealers in my area that I know of, you guys should def do something about that. I have a friend who owns a car accessories shop, I think I will suggest it to him!

  25. Get the biggest/ best alt you can afford. I am going with DC because of my budget and they have tons of different types for my truck. Don't forget about extra batts though. All the alt power in the world isn't worth a lick if you don't have the reserve battery power to back it up on those extra low high draw notes. I am getting I think a 240 or 260 amp alt and running one extra battery and upgrading the under hood battery. Along with the big 3 I should be able to run a pretty good set up with that.
