I am wiring a Dual 2 Ohm btl 15 to one ohm. Does it matter what voice coil (terminals) I go to the amp from? I already have the jumpers hooked up but I was not sure if it matters what set of terminals I come from? as the coils aren't numbered from what I can see?

Wow! -
No its not silver. its lead/tin. Also I found my problem was that there was a pretty cold breeze outside that was fighting the torch. I went over to a freinds basement and finished them in there and it worked fine. Also didn't help that my torch nozzle is cheap and dosen't dispurce the flame very well. Thanks for all the input.

No its Kolossus ofc. I use a huge blob of flux it sizzle into the wire then i use the solder but for some reason somtimes it will go into the wire for a second and then just clump up on the top and fall off in a mess... getting annoying. Did that last one i did and i put the heat directly on it and it seeped into the wire but sometimes that wont even work it just burns everyhing else and not the solder.... FML

Yeah i got the terminals from Knukoncepts.. also im using a propane toch full size. Will the discoloring hurt the connection?

I am in the process of soldering ring terminals on 1/0 ga knu wire and for some reason its giving me a hell of a hard time... it takes forever as it is to get the damn knu wire into the terminal and then i put the torch on the back of the terminal for a bit to heat it up. I have done this before with help and no issues... Then the solder starts flowing into the wire for a bit then the solder just stops and sticks before i get the whole top done. Even with all that solder in there its not dripping out the bottom or anything. after im done theres this brown and yellow liquid gunk on top of my solder which bugs me and the terminals keep discoloring and looking like total crap . I am using a 1 inch flame, 60 40 solder 2% flux and also extra flux "lead free" (white cream) on top od all that and its still being stubborn.. I can deal witht he look as it can be dressed up but i dont want to sacrifice current/connection. any help would be great before i rip my damn hair out lol

Lol yeah, but they will have to do for the time being until I save some more cash. I like the sundown and aq amps but their quite a bit more pricy.
-
Yeah, that's what I thought. I got 270 amp ohio gen alt with big 3 with 0 gauge and kinetic 1400 with another ac delco. That's all for now anyways. The car runs around 15.4 or something close to that. So under 14.4 the amp loses output? And overheats? Clips? Any good amp suggestions with a lower voltage? For the future. Around 2100-2600 watts

Meade said on one of his videos that They will always sound better firing forward as long as they are completely sealed off from the back at the baffle. If their not sealed off then you won't gain. I had 2 15 type-r's in my 2 door pursuit firing forward in small box and the lows were choked. When i turned the box around and fired into the trunk, the lows dramatically improved. But, the box was not even close to sealed, it slid around the car like rollerblades haha. I am working on a wall now with 2 15 Btls. I will let you know how that works out as now it will be sealed, obviously. Side note: Berlow7 from youtube has 4 Autotek 15's in a 2 door cobalt walled and that thing slams the lows. So It has to do with sealing. ...(hopefully)

I had 1 of them running 2 alpine type-r 15's and it ran them nice, even at 2 ohms I heard that you have to have a good electrical system to run the brutus amps as they can be power hungry as some people said. But it looks nice and did what it was supposed to do so i was happy with it. and got another. Thats why I also wonder what they actually put out . @donpablo yeah I read somwhere earlier that th BRZ2400 put out 2450 at around 1 ohm. So that looks about right compared to what you said the 1200 was. I would assume then that they are slightly underrated? even so, those numbers are in a perfect world i guess... whithout clipping and what not. haha

I was just wondering If anyone on here has ever clamped a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D amp? I have got 2 of them and was just curious of what they read at 1 ohm. It says 2100 rms@1 ohm on their site but those specs are usually underrated/overrated. thanks Sorry for the typo in the title. its BRZ not BZ lol anyway gotta love the Ipads auto correct bullshit

Few Welding cable Questions
Amart88 replied to MIKE-2U's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Welding wire will do the job but most of it has a lower strand count compared to Knukonceptz and other car audio wire brands, which are usually of higher quality and thicker. You want OFC as it carries alot more current than cca. Yes you can mix the 2, it will still increase current and electricity will take the path of least resistance anyway. I wouldn't run wire like knu fleks and then run a cca welding wire after the knu as it could create some resistance. You can use normal ring terminals or copper lugs for either wire. Most welding supply shops carry welding wire. I'm not sure about the welding wire for speaker wire but I would just stick to a good speaker wire like Knu as itsnbetter quality and is shielded better. The benefit of welding wire is it's a lot cheaper than good car audio wire. 2-3 dollar permfoot form welding and 3-5 a foot for good power wire. Most wire like Rockford and knu are thicker than normal welding wire ofmthe same gauge. So with welding wire you might want to have more runs. If itmwas me imwould spend the extra money and get a good OFC like kolossus fleks. That's my 2 cents. -
I was wondering what are the best ways to seal around a wall so air cannot go backwards. Between mdf baffle and headliner and betweed mdf and plastic B pillar. Thanks. I would prefer not to use fiberglass and resin unless REALLY need to.

Sorry to panic but I was almost shiting my pants haha. Oh and how do i get it to read 1 ogm in paralell? when i try to measure it using a jumper i get like 4 ohms
-
Yeah when I touch em together it reads .4 so i would end up with 1.8-1.9 a coil, is that ok?
-
I just recieved 2 Fi btl n2 15's in the mail (dual 2 ohm) and when I hook my DMM up to each coil it reads 2.3 ohms??? both coils on both subs are the same but reading 2.2-2.3 ohms. Why is this and is that normal? as i read that fi dual 2 should be 1.4 each not 2.3...... i dont want to have to send them back as it took a month and a half to get them here . My dmm was set to ohms at 200 as thats as low as it can go.

How to the karma rca's compare to the Krystal rca's? Got some krystals on the way -
Did the terminals fit on the 1/0 kolossus wire ok? I heard somone say that you almost need 2/0 terminals for their 1/0 wire but since the ring terminals are from the same company I hope they fit the wire haha or I might have some work ahead of me Not to be creepy, but where from in SK? I'm in Regina haha. It is a tight fight, but with a bit of squeezing its doable. You'll have trouble getting the cable in the terminals if you don't cut it nicely. Cut it as square and neatly as possible and they'll work. and I'm located in Saskatoon. Yeah will do, Thanks. I just picked up a pair of "cable" cutters, like the ones I've seen Mr. Meade use in a couple of his vids hopefully they will do the trick instead of having to hacksaw 60 wires haha.

Gold plated or chrome?
Amart88 replied to Amart88's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Well.... I give up. I already ordered 25 of them from KnuKonceptz the other day. I talked to a few People and they said the knu one are really good any they had no probs BUT I will wait and see when they arrive if their any good. Then I will look into these 1/0 copper lugs if all else fails. Never thought simple ring terminals could be so hard on the head lol Thanks for all the reply's and I will keep the links to those lugs for sure. Also, if I do end up using the lugs, what type of clear grease should i put over them? and how often would you need to do it? Thanks -
wire for 350 amp alt?
Amart88 replied to bighossf150's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
you have it mixed up. 4 gauge is good for around 170 amps. 1/0 is good for 300ish. 4/0 is for like 800 or some crazy shit. dont quote me on the 4/0 rating http://en.wikipedia....ican_wire_gauge Yeah your are probably right, some cases as all wire is not made equally but I was just going by the American wire gauge stats. OFC is almost double the current of CCA thats why it depends on what wire he has. Still Multiple runs of 0 gauge would be good. The 1/0 wire I ran said 180-220 can't quite remember. It might have been cca.
