  1. After a very long day at work plus some OT I plan to finally crack a birthday gift open I got this, Appleton Jamaican Rum, and a very nice bottle of Hen XO that is locked away for a special day with a few other special bottles.
  2. Honestly if you have the cash to spend go with a nice comp set like some RF T2's or similar.
  3. Alrighty, definitely will do! Gonna do a good amount of research and I'll keep you all posted with what I decide to do, thanks to everyone for the help! LOL, Kylar suggested the super tweets that's definitely doing it big. I was thinking about getting some of those. Yeah you can run something that big but if you wanted to keep everything low key and stockish look for tweets that fit your stock housing or come close to it. As far as how much honestly I can't say because there are so many budgets. Price tag makes it easier to narrow down my suggestions.
  4. Well you could just get the Alpine SPR60c which is the component version of what you currently have and go from there. This was you have the crossovers needed to just wire it to the amp. That would be the easiest way rather than trying to find tweeters and crossover points to match em. Either that or you could buy a set of tweets and some bass blockers and then run them to an open channel on the amp. I am not sure what your budget is so it's hard to give ideas
  5. Nope, I have a Kenwood KDC X395, Alpine Spr 69 and Spr 60s. Jl Audio JX 360/4 amp for those.. Just never really payed much attention to the tweeters in the door 'Size of the tweeters? Not sure what size man I THINK they are 3/4, but not completey sure Reason I ask because if you want maintain stock housing for the new tweets you will need to either get the matching size or mod them. You can look for some good 1" silk dome tweets. What kind of power are you looking for and whats your budget?

  7. I would say honestly if you're not thinking about bass and more about sound quality you will want to go with a nice end comp set preferably a 3 way set up and run maybe 1 good woofer on either 2 small amps (a 4 ch and a mono) or 1 big 5 channel. I really can't suggest brands because I am not a SQ guy. I have Soundstream amps (reference rubicon tarantula and stealth) and I love them. I would honestly look into one of the higher end brands and keep it clean and simple.
  8. can my 75 alt handle skar 1500.1? .....read what i wrote dude. come on now. Kranny I swear I would shit bricks the day someone asks and outwardly takes your advice the first time you give it. Instead of completely ignoring it and quoting someone who's "knowledge" is arguable and only comes from the things he's "heard". The world will end when someone takes the advice of someone on here with any actual knowledge in anything at all I feel sorry for skittles alpine n8 haters all you guys because I can see the frustration in the posts after someone completely blows off y'all advice
  9. I am not outraged and congrat to the kid for having an awesome GPA. Hey you worked hard you got good grades while playing sports, regardless of who your dad is that is a feat. As for the money I think he should honestly tell the school to give it to someone who actually needs the financial assistance. Hell, we all know is college education and the rest of his life is paid for just off the name, Combs. Take the acceptance to a great school and let another deserving student get a monetary scholarship. The simple fact that he was offered a paid scholarship means someone else who deserves it and needs it will miss out on it. This is not to take away from what he did because again he did and congrats to him for it but he really doesn't need the money Papa Diddy can stroke a check for any obscene amount and laugh it off.
  10. What did you trade him for it? If it was something you can live without keep that fucker.
  11. for like 15-20 seconds at a time, yeah. my bet would be an audioque 1200. my alt is 75 amps and my 1200 works well for me. stock duralast battery under the hood. big 3 in 0 gauge (way overkill lol). a 5 second google showed me this http://www.maniacele...om/13752ho.html and you can also email mechman or dc power for an alt for your car, if you want. you can get a moderately sized unit, no need for like a 250 or 300a alt. unless you plan on upgrading to bigger things in the future. ^What he said...You gotta pay to play
  12. NO! if he is not willing to upgrade his electrical for 1500w why would you suggest an amp with more draw? The only answer here is your electrical will need to be able to back you over powering the subs plain and simple. i was just saying. big 3 should be able to run this without crazy pull. a friend of mine has and his volts to seem to bad. anyways sorryi overlooked the not upgrading. must not be a real 2000w amp then. all the big 3 does is decrease resistance in the charging system and makes current easier to flow about. it doesn't do anything else besides that. you act like it performs fucking miracles. edit: and your friend probably has a bigger alternator. likely twice the size, or bigger. and probably a larger battery. just cause it works for someone doesn't mean it'll work for someone else. That's what I thought but what do I know. I have noticed a lot of suggestions from a lot of people who only suggest doing the big 3 and "you should be fine" lol.

  17. I lol'd hard at the scientific explanation. Too many variables that make that hypothetical very flawed and inaccurate so in the end if all else remains the same Cone Area is king so 2 12's. EDIT P.S. The enclosures between a single sub setup and dual sub setup would not be equal.
  18. Contemplating selling a complete budget minded system for someone who needs it. I wonder if there would be any interest there as it is just collecting dust.

Lol, i am thinking more on the lines of a basshead on a budget this would be my FLI system its just been collecting dust and i have enough stuff for a complete build minus wire.

Still would be a great start for someone looking for a decent system!

Thats what i figure. Subs speakers and 2 amps could get someone on a tight budget playing just like that. All they would need is a wiring kit.

  19. I have 2 pairs of FLI 1" Tweets $20 shipped per pair or $30 shipped for all 4 plus paypal fees. Specs listed here: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23960_FLI-Audio-COMP1.html. The ring around the tweet is painted beige to match my interior.
  20. Thank you sir zx1000.1 btw Let me know how you like those goldwoods and how much power they can really handle (vids of the destruction you plan to do to on one set).
  21. Hook the amps up to the EQ and don't worry about the bass knob, the Clarion has a knob for that. If you are using a DD-1 when you tune your amps then you would turn the bass knob on the eq to halfway and either use Track 3 (Max SQ) or Track 5 (Blend of Quality and Loudness), I typically don't use Track 7. All the bass knob does is allows you to turn the bass up and down to your desired preference. It does not adjust the gains on the amp it simply works within the limits set with the gain on the amp. Make sure bass boost remains all the way down or off on the amp there is no need for it.
  22. you're just letting everyone know that you have stuff for sale man hahaha, jk I would be doing it too. I don't think I'm going to buy any midbass for right now but thanks anywayhow many posts to you have to have in order to sell? I have a sony HU and 10 gauge amp wiring kit that I have no use for :/ if someone is looking for something I might have might as well let them know. The buyer gets what they want and I make a sell sounds like a win win to me. Plus free advertising is free.
  23. Check out my for sale thread I have some single dins for sale and will be adding more soon.
  24. How much power can this handle daily?
