Try any of the brands that offer recones and see if any of their lines would fit your motor and basket. I just ordered a sundown z kit for my rockford fosate hx2's from cjvue.

If it will save me some money on buying a 4th amp I am all ears. So I will do 2 tweets on each 1/2 channel and 2 6's on each 3/4 channel and then use the 2nd amp for mid bass. So I should get 8 ohm 6's and 4 ohm 8's? How would I run one of the 8's off the 1/2 channel if it doesn't have the lpf band? As for imaging and staging considering I am a novice when it comes to the subject I would love to know where I should position each speaker. This is all going in a 2005 Honda Civic LX coupe I would love the best sound I can get instead of just installing them anywhere and calling it a day. My original plan was to atleast aim the tweet and 6 (on each door) towards the headrest of each seat and the back tweets and 6's would be by the arm rests for each respective passenger pointing towards the headrest as well. As for the 8's I wasn't sure on placement, they would either be sealed in the doors or sealed in the rear fill (since it is not currently being used at all). Any ideas and thanks again to everyone for all of the help, I am pretty much open to trying anything to get the best sound out of my car and I am always up to learn new things.

What is the "listed rms" of the tweets? You could always do them in the pillars run em down the sides, 4 in each pillar should work well and look good if done right. Whats the vehicle?

Okay Orion, last time I will annoy you but I want to be sure I have this right so I know what I am doing. Here is a pic of the amp: NOT MY PIC PULLED FROM GOOGLE AS A REFERENCE Amp 1 2 - Super Tweets 8 ohm Ch1/Ch2 - HPF LP/HP Freq - 3000hz Bass Boost - 0 Input Select - 4ch 2 - 6's - 4 ohm Ch3/Ch4 - LPF Band High Pass - 250Hz Low Pass - 3000Hz Bass Boost - 0 Amp 2 2 - Super Tweets - 8 ohm Ch1/Ch2 - HPF LP/HP Freq - 3000hz Bass Boost - 0 Input Select - 4ch 2 - 6's - 4 ohm Ch3/Ch4 - LPF Band High Pass - 250Hz Low Pass - 3000Hz Bass Boost - 0 Amp 3 I can get the 1.400 or 2.450 whichever would do a better job at playing the mid bass correctly. The 1.400 subsonic filter is 35hz and I haven't seen pics of the 2.450 but I would assume it has basically the same capabilities as the 4 channels or I can get at a third 4.600 if that is the best route.

No rush that would help alot but speakers don't ship til May 7 its the new crescendo pwx line and the xst tweets which I have already. Do I need external processing eventhough I am running 3 amps each doing a specific job for the tweets 6's and 8's

Okay so if I continue to run the clarion mcd360 crossover how should I set it up and how should I set the amps. I will use all three channels for highs mids and mid bass and then run my sub rca separately. Or do I need to drop the crossover and get a processor? If so what processor will do the job at a reasonable price?

I would stay away from Sony period you can look at pioneer or clarion I have always loved and run all of their decks. As for speakers check out pioneer d series components and 6x9'sI I have never had a problem with running them on a budget great sound and build quality at an affordable price. Check out sonicelectronix.com for all of that you should be set. The pioneer deh 1300 is a good budget deck has aux but no usb.

Okay maybe I don't understand going active as much as I thought lol. So let me explain what I have and you guys can tell me what I need to do. I have a Clarion EQS746, Clarion CZ501 and Clarion MCD360 (I was planning to nix this since the amps go up to 4k). Amps are SoundStream Rubicon 4.600 the plan was to get three so each amp controls a set of speakers. 1 for the 2 tweets (eventually it would be 4) 1 for the 4 6's and 1 for the 2 8's (bridged to 2 channels @ 4 ohms). I thought I understood what going active meant but I guess not. By setting the amps to full pass on the mids that means where I set the LPF and HPF will determine what frequencies my mids will play, am I correct? When you say slope and eq settings what are you referring to?

The 6's are on their own amp and the 8's will share an amp with the tweets until I get a third amp. I was going to set the amp to full pass and cut off accordingly and okay I can bring the 6's down along with the tweets. I just wanted to see if there was a specific reason why I was told the pass was to small for the 8's.

Okay so I am planning on going 3 way active in my upcoming build and so far I have 2 super tweets (Can find another 2 if needed), 4 6.5's and I still need to order my 2 8's(Still trying to decide on the company to use for my 8's). The question I have is simple. What is the ideal freq range to run each speaker at. The amps being used are SoundStream Rubicon 4.600's I have 2 right now and will be ordering a 3rd soon. I will be using my CC1 to tune em. The range I was planning on running each at was: 8's - 60hz - 250hz (full pass) 6's - 250hz - 3500hz (full pass) Tweets - 3500hz & up. (high pass) I emailed this to the company and was told it wasn't ideal to run the 8's in such a small bandpass but I didn't really understand what he meant by that so if anyone can clarify what would happen by running the 8's the way I listed about that would be great. The company said to run it like this instead. 8's - 60hz - 3000hz 6's - 120hz - 4000hz Tweets - 4000hz & up

Exactly what N8 said. I am working on one now for a single 8 but it is simply a "I have never done this before so I might as well try it out" type thing. Not really designing it with any intentions in mind, if it's loud its loud, if it sucks ass I had it designed so I can play with tuning and really play with as much as I want, but the fascination has become increasingly apparent lately and I would really like to know who started the fad of lets all make 4th orders because they get you big numbers real easy.

That is a monstrosity...Damn it looks cool as hell though. Seems like you would have to have some serious physical space just to place it and then some serious need to use it to it's fullest potential. The price tag has to be a kick in the pants.

2005 honda accord lx sedan. 2.4L manual transmission. replace back 6x9 in the rear dash and i have only 2 front speakers 5 1/4 i think. Budget.. 150-200 for HU + rear speakers only. going to get front speakers + amp for them next purcahse. What features do you need your HU to include? As for by 9's look for a pair of front speakers and then once you pick a brand go with their 6x9's as well. I would do a set of 6.5's up front and in the rear doors and honestly just remove the 6x9's all together. You wont lose much if anything in the way of sound and since youre running AQ you could always run their speakers as well.
