    the subs shouldnt be getting smelly even running that amp at .5. Question is where are your gains, how far into clipping are you pushing the amp and how much power are they actually getting. You are probably raising up to at least 2 ohms would be my guess what size box do you have these subs in?

    look at the E10 D4. I have done a couple E series woofers in prefab boxes and they work nicely.
