    I have a DD 12 that I purchased from a friend. It seems to play fine but it gets warm / hot VERY quickly on low power. It doesn't have a model number. Just silver top and back plates with a double stacked magnet in a magnet boot. Red DD letters on the dustcap. I assume its a 4 ohm coil as there are only 1 set of direct leads. Its currently in a sealed box. What kind of problem / issue am I facing? I've given it maybe 200 rms.

    If you're reading 9 volts then your alternator is dead and your battery is not far behind.

    What I meant is Was your gain set lower than you have it now? As in BEFORE you tuned with DD-1.

    Sounds like your amps distortion point is higher than your subs power handling capabilities. Did you turn your gain UP from where you had it after using the DD-1?

    Old as in "aged". LOL. My 15s died. So I put in some RF p1 12s. They're on the 2 channel amp. My ZX is relaxing for now.

    Um.. I got my Kicker ZX1000.1 for $80 At a pawn shop. I've had no problems with it.

    The 12s are on a "1200 watt" 2 channel and the 15s are on a zx1000.1
