My goal is bass. But some times I like to hear the music coming out also my question is can you even hear the difference in quality in speakers when you start to get into the 3k+watt range on subs? Im guessing this is why some people just get cheaper priced seleniums because I hear there loud? I just ordered a hifonics zeus that does 150x4ch@4ohms. Had good reviews so I whent with it and didnt know if I should just get some cheap seleniums or comps from hifonics( I heard good things about them on hear from one guy who had them and an other guy did his whole car in hifonics who said good things) or up to some kicker or rockford $400+ comps.

The lc6i is for oem head units, as in head units with no rca outs puts right? So how did you check the head unit then with out checking the lc6i wich cuts into speaker wite to creat the rcas, i dont get it? But dont realy know to much about oem HU, had a shop put in the lc6i for me. By the way how cracked up is your lc6i? Is half way good. From the looks of it dd1 wont do me any good if I cant set the lc6i plus my oem head unit doesnt tell you wat the volume is at, it just goes up and down. So I wont be able to know when it clips. But love the look, touch screen and nav so im a keep it.

Well he was talkin about a lc6i wich I have and wanted to know if the dd1 will in fact work with it. No point in buying one if they dont work properly together

Looking for a dc xl 12 in good condition to go with my other xl. Open to different coils because my xl is in need of a recone so ill just get that one to match. Or a xl motor to recone. Look for a one used to save some money

I saw this idea at CACO. I dont know hows its goin but one guy was trying to rent his dd1 out. From my understanding You deposited the full amount of the dd1 in his paypall. He sent it out and if you returned it he would refund your money back minus what he was charging I personaly would not mind paying to set my gains for one day. But I guess you could allways buy one the sell it and still geta good deal.

To up date I took itout today and it seams as if the daul leads on one side of the coil burned up, just one side of the terminal. It burned up my 2 of the spiders too. Like isaid I bought it used and the leads whereno longer sewed on to the spiders could they have touched when in motion and sparked? Coil looks good, its still the same golden color. As for batterys no it was on my things to do list Since 2 spiders burned, I think it had the spider upgrade pack and one coil still works how long can I run this till it goes. I turned the gains down too.

Sorry guys, im new to all this but thanks for your help. No I dont have a volt meter. So I dont know if my alt was keeping up. Upgrading it was on my things to do but thought that since I was only running one xl at 2000 watts I would be ok for the time being. About the gains and ohm setting if im running at 1ohm would the gains be set highter then if it was ran at 2ohms? I didnt have anything to set it with so I just put it at close to 75% because thats what my little hifonics was set at running at 2ohms.

I run my kicker l7 in my yukon with the bass boost setting in wich is higher then the hiphop setting and my head unit is at 3+ on bass out of 6. And ive been running it like that for a year now. Thats why I thought a little boost would not do much in turms of cliping. I think it might have just been a old sub, got it on ebay for 250 shipped. It was probably ready to go By the way like I said as of now I only have 1 xl, looking to run 2. Should i keep it reconed at 1ohm. With the 5k or switch it up on the ohm load.

I read the clipping light was BS, so I didnt even plug it in :DI kept on messing with It because it didnt seam lound enough. I know that a good portion of loudness has do with the box and port size does this my port sound ok size wise?

I finaly got the dc xl12 playing. on a dc 5k wired to 2 ohms. My box was 49long 10 deep and 19.5 high cut into 2 chambers wich is close to 2 cuft per sub(was only running one. Port was 17 long 1 wide and 15-16 deep(L shapped) tuned to 35 if my cals where right. At 2 ohms the 5k does a little over 2000 watts before box rize. alt was stock 160 amp. Anyways it seamed not to be all that loud so added the hiphop setting on my ipod. Them it blew after 20 min of playing( bass boost was off, head unit was every very low on bass also). I bought the xl used could it have just bin the fact that it was used and ready to go? How about my port on my box. I think it might be a little small? Since im reconing already would 15s be worth it? How much louder could a 15 be over a 12(if my box is good I would rathet keep it, I suck at boxes and it came out nice looking). And I have never reconed. Yes I would like to learn but dont know if ill be any good at it. Should I just send it in?

Im in need of a battery but on the fence about buying it used. Ill think about it and will decide tomarrow. I do have an other question, does this battery not have the bump/slot the gets clamped into the factory mount? My truck have the double battery mount and if not is there an other way to mount it in the same location?

Does it come with them terminal brackets?

I cant solder as in I dont know how. Do them crimper tools work? The first 0 gauge I tryed to crimp would allways fall off so I ended up crimping them then gorilla taping them down. A year later and they are still holding up. But im working on my other car now. And am looking for the cleanes look I can get without having to take it to the shop.

Im looking to add a battery and do the big 3. I cant solder but I have sean that conductive metal glue will this work? By the way any one know a good place to get cheap fuse holders? Ebay has them for like 2 or 3 dollards does quality matter?

I just got streetwires 0 gauge uf wich is ofc, 2 7ft cuts from ebay for 40. 23 for 1 7ft cut, ebay them. I hear good thing about streetwires but next to my stinger it kind if looks a little small.

Never took them that long or did more the 2 cycles. only bad thing I had happen to me was messing up my shoulder. To much strain on it then couldnt lift for 6 months and dropped muscle and even more strenght

I do like the carbon fiber caps but love the inverted(i think there called) caps that the tfs franks have. Do you make them with dc logos? if so could I get a pm on 2 12s inverted caps for my xls.

So I was looking for a battery. I was thinking kinetik 3800 that way I dont need a lot of small ones. While look at kinetik and xs power I see some say 12v 14v and 16v. Whats this mean? OEM stock on a car is 12 volts right? But I have seen a lot if people on youtube and videos and most run 14v. How do I make the change from 12 to 14? And should I? Im looking to power a 5k amp in the future anyways. Dont have the alt yet, taking baby steps
