P1000-1bd too much?
CleanSierra replied to hhowell1990's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
It's a D4 so you'll only be running a 2 ohm load anyway. great amp for that -
e-8's how loud are they?

There are a bunch of guys in your geo, plenty. You should have no problem if you want local help -

That little sub digs deep in the right enclosure. Perhaps I missed it, but how many of these subs are you planning on running? You're drastically losing cone area if you only use 2. 4 of them, and you are really close(still slightly under) the cone area you had with the TypeR setup. What you need is a proper box for your vehicle, and possibly to experiment with different box setups. BassBarbie on.this site put up some straight retarded numbers for a couple of SA8s. You may check get build out, she did BUNCHES of testing though and put the time in. OP, you sound smart, do your research, buy your equipment and BUILD. Honestly, at the end of the day, you're looking at a Sundown product, it will be well designed and constructed. I can't imagine you being disappointed, unless a mistake is made in your install. Im a big fan that it is HEAVILY reliant on your enclosure, the results you'll get. -
next build ?

More voice coil yeah, but the right 18" sub should be able to take half of an SAZ3000. He could keep the same power he has now, but have more cone area. This is all assuming. You can feed the 18"ers the right amount of air and port. -
5 tweets in EACH A-pillar huh? Please do me a favor, don't post anything more for awhile. Just sit on the side and read as much as you can on this forum. At this point Im not trying to hate, Im trying to help. It's clear you're young, and don't quite know how the world of audio works yet. Someone your age doesn't need to be trying to cram 5 6.5s in each door and 5 tweets in EACH pillar. You don't just put as many speakers just because you can. like I said, please don't post for a little while and learn a few things first.

I love these,"can I over power my subs" threads. Why do you find it necessary to drive double the RMS power to a sub. You gain NOTHING. It is not going to do anything magical when you throw double the RMS to them. What it has a GOOD likelihood of doing is sending a lot of extra heat. Granted that they are well built and can take tons of power, but why are so people so interested in this? It's it just so you can brag and say,"yeah I am running 1200 watts to each of my SA12's and they're taking it like champs"? Also, youre but very likely with efficiency and impedance rise to see the full 2400 watts anyway. Do you really want to be that customer that has the story,"I was told I could run 1200 watts to a sub rated for 600 watts and it blew, I have no idea why"? Please keep it simple and buy an amp that does 1200-1500 and call it a day.

Skar Audio EARBUDS!!! (Pricing & Info Within!)
CleanSierra replied to skaraudio's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
Will these work well in a sealed enclosure, or should I port to mid 30's? -
You can set your gains all peachy, but if your box has an error in design, you're screwed. what are the dimensions of your box OP? I'm not saying.for sure, as there are many unknowns here. Im just curious how your setup is to pinpoint what happened.

Coils don't burn for no reason. Heat and clipping burns coils. You did something wrong I think. some songs clip even though your settings are good.

And the OP DID say critic and criticize. I'm sure he meant "critique" but spelled it wrong.... -

So it seems very troll-like to give no REAL input or ideas of what you're attempting. Of course everyone is going to speculate on the "build" plans. We see a thread like this once a week. With someone that only has 5 or 6 posts on the forum, it's pretty easy to believe that there's no real build planned. *Edit- You lead us to believe this is going in a trunk car with subs facing up at the deck lid. You also suggest a port firing into the cabin. I know if NO trunk that would allow such a setup. Good luck with your build. -

Yeah you lurked and never commented on anything. Any info on how you plan to build this? Surely not in the trunk right? -

I likes it get it done son!!! -
For someone that loves their amps and subs so much, you're not having much confidence in this new venture of theirs. I'm sure they will do well and will be VERY competitive in the wire market. I am diggin the wire and am diggin the price per foot, that's for sure. Others will love this product as well without a doubt.
