Hey I just noticed your location, the GF and I are in Phoenix and we just bought a Scion xB for her. We will be doing an SA8 or Skar 8 setup in her cargo area at some point here. Please never suggest this again. Not at all correct May i ask why you say that? I have a feeling he was saying that because the likely cause of the MULTIPLE subs blowing he mentioned, we're likely not due to overpowering. Clipping would be where I pointed my finger....

Try a Fosgate T1000bd, that'll give you in the 750 range at 2 ohms. What are you looking to spend on this amp? Are you wanting to upgrade subs later?

BTW, I guessed on te sub displacement. It won't change the tuning a whole lot, a little higher and a little lower.

With exactly those dimensions, I'd run with it, since after displacements, you'll be at 3.5 cubes net. So I ran Torres, and I'd run to the upper recommended enclosure size to get as low as possible. I figured a 3" port, which yields over 14" of port per foot and a total of almost 50 inches of port. The tune I have is just over 36 Hz which would probably be okay. Of you wanted it higher a minor adjustment could be made to shortening port length.

I'm sure you can come up with something better than a prefab tuned to mid 50s haha. Get those dimensions and we will see what we can come up with.

if you want to just be loud, then wall your car off and tune the box to 50hz and play only a milli and other crazy high note bass songs. again, we cant give suggestions unless we get a price figure. someone can recommend you a Fi BTL, and thats like $500, or someone can recommend some piece of shit hifonics sub thats $35 Im Trying Too Spend No More Than $600 On Subs I Have A RF T1000 And Hifonics Brutus 1200.1 bro you can already run those subs as is with either of those amps. i'd pick the t1000 since it'll output more and CLEANER power than that hifonics *Fixed

They won't murder the lows by any means, but could make a couple nice subs for a daily driver. You just won't get CRAZY output, judging by power handling and frequency response. I'm sure they will sound good in a well thought out box. Subs up port to the hatch will be loudest I assume.

Unsure. I pulled it out of a car that got traded in at work. This was two years back before I didn't know much about car audio. I have a 06 F150 crew cab. The amp will be located in the back seat. I don't think 20' us enough for the power, ground, AND Big3. Power and ground, it's probably enough though.

4 of those subs in the RIGHT box, with the right tune, and the properly matched amp, could sound very nice.

Recommended specs for ported is .75-1.75 cubic feet PER sub. So I'd go on the bigger side to get the most out of them, and feed them some good size on port. What vehicle is this going into? Id build a box that was 3 cubic feet after displacements and I'd tune to about 38-40 Hz. Frequency response is supposedly only 37-300 Hz.

I can't believe you got away with a Kenwood 1800W amp on Type E's. I had a Fosgate P6001 on two of them and they would bottom out on THAT power. Also, Kenwood makes solid products all around, I certainly would not consider a Kenwood amp to be junk.

Your height and depth are wrong on the measurements for that truck. What you REALLY have is 5" top depth, 8-9" bottom depth, 56 between B-pillar panels, and 14-14.5" height(puts you below trim panel). Also, if you were to use the depth of 7", you would NOT be able to put the center console down. It needs room to swing behind the seat which with 7" you would not have.

If they are eXcelon, they are likely Dual voice coil subs. My bet is they are Dual 4 ohm coils.

How much wire you need is dependent on your car. How much did it take for your current run? If you're adding wire for the Big3, maybe 10 feet?

I don't trust his building skills, or his product recommendations. I'm sure he is a stand up guy, but that doesn't mean I'd let him wire my truck or design a box for it.... *Edit- Knu wire is some seriously legit stuff, you won't be disappointed. Its really flexible and it's got tons of strands.

First of all, don't trust EXO for product recommendation. I wouldn't trust him to build a birdhouse. If its video editing, hell yeah, he's a boss at that, but explore options for SURE before making your purchase. I KNOW that my Knu wire is great, and I personally like the XScorpion too. DB Link isn't terrible for the money but doesnt bend for SHIT

Looking good sir! How did you get away with such a big port on such little airspace? Whenever I run numbers, for similar airspace, I can't get numbers to work with a port like that.

I don't think it's the power that is giving you the problem. How is THAT sub positioned in the box? Is your gain possibly set too high CAUSING this distortion? I would've guess bottoming out the coil, but you are not saying this issue happens on the low lows. mechanical noise could definitely be tinsel slap, or a coil rubbing. If its distorting at high AND low volumes, I think you have a problem and need to get the sub out. You need to DMM the coils to see if they are reading properly? If the sub is firing back into the box against the PORT, that could cause an unloading issue.
