  1. SPL motors most likely wouldn't be good for a high xmax build. Since from what I know spl motors have extremely tight gaps, and high xmax subs typically use motors with "loose" gaps. And sounding good is usually user preference. user A might like subs that play tight high bass notes where others might like loud n low. Typically a sub with a high xmax can play lower notes louder. But may not be louder than another sub. I plan on building two 15s using ti baskets and 3hp motors with a lower fs and a relatively high xmax
  2. epic 8s or RLi8s if you can find them would be good choices, they get low, they put out, and the RLi series subs work in really small ported enclosures.
  3. I have a ZXi150.4 I got off sonic for a little over 200 shipped. I'm pretty happy with it. So that might be an option
  4. I say no go, since neither of you are the "mechanic type" thats way too big of a project. I'm a die hard gear head and I wouldn't even consider this project. I second the nitrous kit, but not really. the for 3.8 is a turd of a motor to be honest.
  5. I'll have to pass on the fatmat lol. But when the time comes I'd deff like a deal on some alpha damp or damp pro though
  6. nice but almost sounds too much like that niya cat thing or w/e it is lol
  7. I can say I've personally used Dmat xtreme and stinger road kill, both great products, Dmat is over priced if you buy it from dealers, but going to sonic or other online stores not so bad, the stinger deadner I like more since there's no black lettering and looks cleaner. The stinger seems slightly easier to work with, I used cheap scissors to cut both, no issues really. Both are great products. I do plan on buying SS when I do the roof and second layers on the doors, after seeing numerous side by side comparisons and seeing it in person in some locals cars. from what I've seen in person, fat mat seems like peel n seal with a bigger price tag. FUCKING JUNK the shit falls off deck lids and roofs. leaves nasty stains, stinks and well fuck it lol. Down here on the gulfcoast it gets fucking hot and humid. I haven't seen audio technix in person so I can't comment. But the Dmat, stinger, and SS hold up well. I've had Dmat in my car for 4yrs, no issues. hope I get money coming in soon so I can order 50ft of damp pro
  8. its about 4 or 5mi west on 90 of biloxi. It was really nice today. Thank you! Ok, I loved it out there.. Its really beautiful. I was out there from April,1st to May 25th of this year. I live in Puerto Rico but Mississippi is great. I see you said that you've been in this area for 10 years.. Is your unit there? well I originally moved here in 2000. I was suppose to go to Italy but I joined a unit here after AIT(2004) so I could rapid deploy to Iraq, then katrina hit while I was deployed and fucked it all up lol. But I can't seem to get away. I love the people and the area. are you in a NG unit?
