  3. Hey RIch, do it,... the extra shit is ok, but, i felt like a cheap ass jumping on here and looking at everything with out some sorta payback....then again, thats could be just me.....
  4. LOL>... Wholly IRONIC.... kick ass bro...... And you are in fact "BAT SHIT CRAZY"!!
  5. Yes.... OP report back,.. if you have a multi meter.... Edit - I have absolutly no experiance with kicker gear.... i wouldnt imagine he is running that low.... but....... knowing the load could help though....
  6. Dude, i had perma grin when i saw the package at the door. The grin on my face NOW is hearing it.... Dude, thanks again. SONIC gave it hell and did what they could to try and work with me on the price. Not to mention, the CS is worth a couple extra bones. A true and honest thanks man.......Trust me, we will be back. .....
  7. Op, Please slow down, look on this forum for a DD-1 in your area,...... BUT, you seem to be the audio lover in your area. (If your the loud dude in the area) Take it a step further, and read about "distortion" "gain setting" "boosting" on this site for a few days. Then, (and only then) buy or find the correct tool to set you levels. Im talking finding your HU level, and your EQ's (if ya have any) and then your amps.... Dude, ill send you either one you want, a DD-1 or one of the baddest scopes on the planet to borrow. IF you read up just a bit more..... just be a little patient. And learn some stuff bro. Again, thats the fun part. Kyle
  8. Right Kranny, "To push those sibs the gain should be AT least half way up. And make sure they are wired correctly. " Bumpin, please dont lead him astray......
  9. No worries, what i was asking was what meter you were saying you use, and its not loud. "But when i set the gains with that meter, not using bass boost.. They still wont be loud at all?" What meter are you using?
  10. "That METER",... can i ask what meter?... multi meter? scope? or do you or your buds have a DD-1?
  11. Yes sir, Do you know of detecting distortion with a meter, scope, DD-1. Have you read about the DD-1 tool on this site? You'll start with your deck, and work to the rear. Have you checked the tool out before or heard of gain setting with a tool VS you ear hole? Just trying to get a feel of your experiance. Having a HO alty and some bat bank gives me hope..... It'll get sorted bro....
  12. Ok, Altima is with it.... Your 17, and we are glad your with the SMD comunity... welcome. What i'd like to see, is, you take the advice....that im sure is directly coming. You have some really decent gear, and im stoked to see you even invested in a HO altly. Good on ya.... but, i think more tools are needed for some help in correcting the issue bro.
  13. ok, its cool. Everyone might go ape shit on this. But, stay with us.... this may get a little bit involved. Can i ask what your other gear is? Is the boost your using on your amp or HU? or both? Kranny are you still here? wanna help the man out? Edit - yep, you are..... no idea of the OP's experiance. I think he needs some tools to correctly set some stuff... you agree?
  14. I adjust the gain til' i hear distortion, and when it's at the right level with the bass knob. (where it's not full blast without the bass knob turned) Till you hear distortion?
  15. can you or someone tell me more? whats the RMS on those drivers? what amp is that? sorry, i dont know it.......whats your electrical like?
  16. and ill toss it out there first........ how are you setting your gains?
  17. big hit and big loss for all, peace to remaining fam, ... RIP....
  18. nice and all,....but im still on... " i am a metal head too for sure." Dig it.... Also, cutting into some IS-F tin would have got my heart pumpin..hell, looking at the pic's did. anyway, stoked for the rest. Not only the the enclosure. Getting into and making the stock HU roll, the mids/highs and such... cheers, and good luck..
  19. Hey buddy,.. thanks for the words, and again, (i guess laura and i are just lucky with buyers) the pleaseure was all ours, and would deal all day everyday with ones like yourself... and happy marrige bro.....good luck to you 2 as well!!!..... (after 17 years here,.get a dog, it helps ) kyle and laura
  20. I hear ya VIP, ive only seen 2 of these types of enclosures, and never heard one..... My intrests is wicked peaked on this build with the intergration to oem, as well as figuring out a working trunk build that will work better firing rear, or the forward sealing off deal. Im tuned in and wanna see some porting through the rear deck, and or some other ideas.....VIP, do me a solid, and keep an eye one this, as we may try some of the ideas on our project bud. Wish ya the best of luck Steve on the R&D, all the way up to the finish. From appetite to asshole. I think itll be a fun build. Great learning, and Certainly fun for the comunity, thats for sure. Not to mention, working on some of the new autos out there is going to take some outta box thinking, and seems itll only get harder.... dig it... Kyle
  21. X2 with Kranny (as usual) do BOTH amps, and drivers on those amps stop? or just one, and not the other? Like K said, if your losing BOTH, then voltage/ground and anything with both has to be the issue......Meter time....
  22. Dfrancis, Hey bro, im not trying to be a jerk off, but, start your own thread. And let people answer there... Cheers and good luck On topic, wicked stoked to see the integration of the OEM equipment with the aftermarket ...
