  1. Anyone else on the forum now running the Sundown U series subs. I'm really considering a single U10 or 12 now paired with my SCV 2000 in my truck. Think it would be better suited for my listening habits and space available in my truck. Im a big fan of the SA series so I think I would like these. Any talk of them coming out with version 2s already of the U series or are they too new? Just dont see a lot of opinions or videos of them yet at all. Not a huge fan of the looks of the cast basket, but not really a big deal for me.
  2. My new SA-12 is waiting for me at home. Cant wait to be home in one week to check it out
  3. Thanks guys. My truck can easily fit the 2400 or the 5100 easily. I'm just going to go with the 5100r for my truck since the terminals are on the correct side. It might look a little funny though since it is much skinnier then my stock battery but it should have lots more power capacity still. Going to do the big three at the same time cause ill be running my new SA 12 on 1 ohm. Going to use the dual top post I-bar as well which I confirmed with XS Power that it does fit on the 5100 since its only on the top. Only the side post I-bars don't fit and that's not what I need.
  4. Man it really sucks that it has gotten to this point for you man. I can't believe how much time some people take just trolling the internet and starting crap. Pretty stupid. Just have to try and ignore all those retarded people and keep on keeping on like you always do. You've clearly stated what you're all about and I think that's great. People who don't agree with you just need to get over it and get over themselves.
  5. Well Im looking to order a D5100r for my 2006 nissan frontier. I was wanting to get an Ibar kit as well to have on post for my stock connections and another for my amp and big three connections. I dont see why the 556 I Bar wouldnt fit on the 5100r. Isnt it the same with just the terminals switched. What would cause the i-bar to not fit? And I pretty sure the site suggests the i-bar as an accessory for the D5100r. Doesnt make sense to me.
  6. Oh ok well If that fit well in your xterra then maybe I will just go with that. A little cheaper too. And you're right it has plenty of power for what I need. Im planning on doing the big three as well so I might have to move the stock connection off to the side or get an I-Bar adapter so i can still clamp on the stock connection and have another post to clamp my other connections to. Did you upgrade the grounds in your xterra? What did you do about the voltage regulator on the ground lead of the battery? Also, is there anywhere I can find pics of the D5100R installed under your hood? thanks for the help EDIT: Just saw your build. Realized that you have a first gen xterra which is different than the second gen xterras and frontiers? You think the D5100R will still work for me?
  7. Hey guys sorry to start a thread like this, but Im getting ready to order my new XS battery and am lacking help on getting the right one. My truck is a 2006 nissan frontier with a group 24f battery. The XS power website does not show a direct fit, but suggests the d975, the d5100, and the d5100r. I have a truck with a lot of offroad accessories and lights and such, as well as my system will be at 1,400 watts total. The d975 looks too small for my truck and the demands I will have, but it does have the terminals on the correct side. The D5100R has the terminals on the correct side as well but it looks odd shaped by being too tall and skinny compared to my stock battery. My stock battery is a group 24F with dimensions of about 10" long, 8" height, and 7" width. This is right about the same dimensions as the D2400. The only difference is the D2400 has the terminals on opposite sides. So my question is, should the d2400 still fit in there and work. There is nothing internally different between group 24 and group 24F right??? It just looks like reverse terminals. So couldnt I install the d2400 with the terminals on the same side of the truck but to the forward of the engine bay instead of to the back. Then since Im going to be doing the big 3 it wont matter because Ill be replacing the stock ground so I can jump it across the battery, and then just make a 1/0 extension to jump to my stock positive fuse block thing. Is that what I should do? Here is a generic pic of a frontier engine bay so you can see the stock arrangement I have. You can see it in the left of the pic and how the negative is closest to the engine with the big plastic fuse box deal/ positive connection furthest from the engine.
  8. Just installed an e10 in a buddy's truck I did over the weekend. Tuned it with my DD-1 and its running on 500 watts at 2 ohm and it slams. Really great sub for the price that he got it on sale. I always have people asking me to help them with their systems at school. None of them want to spend that much and I will definitely be recommending the e series to those people.
  9. Damn. I hate seeing people do stupid stuff like that in my dream car haha.
  10. My truck is not that crazy right now as far as audio. More of an SQ system right now, but the SA-12 will be going in soon. My truck is mostly for offroad haha. I go to school in Nor Cal, but Im from Garden Grove.
  11. Yah thanks for the speedy late night reply. Im glad I got someone to ask questions when I know you guys are really busy. Sorry I havent responded yet. I havent tried testing the negative on channels 2 and 4 yet. Wanted to try to get some more info before I tear my amps out again to test. Im not sure if thats going to work though because the pdx amps dont connect the speaker output like most ordinary amps. They actually have plugs on them. Its weird cause the plugs have a positive and negative symbol on them, but they don't say which way to put the plug in. I've always assumed that the plugs just always connect with the right polarity somehow. Anyways if I dont get any more possibilities I will try just that later? Also, just for a general question. Does it make sense for 2 equal channels that have the same signal and should have the same output to be set completely different with the gain knobs on a 4 channel amp like mine. And here is a picture I found on google just to remind you of the amp Im dealing with and the plugs Im talking about. I know this amp is not your general amp with its compact digital technology. Something is up with it though and working with the DD-1.
  12. bump for any help. i really want to be able to use my dd-1 to get the full potential out if it. I know someone has to know whats happening here.
  13. Nobody knows. Anyone used a DD-1 on a pdx amplifier. I can't figure it out.
  14. Here's one of my truck last weekend. Nothing big, not much of a jump, but I jumped my truck all day long and drove it pretty hard, didn't get many videos. Nice smooth landing though.
  15. I didn't try setting it at a lower volume, but isn't the point of the dd-1 to match the amps to the highest unclipped volume of the deck. When I directly connected my rcas to the dd-1 and test 40hz and 1khz my deck didnt clip at all with all eqs flat. At volume 39 I could turn up my eq settings on the deck 1 or 2 which is in 2db increments I believe. So for some reason testing the deck through my pdx amplifier with all gains turned down and everyting it clips sooner with the deck set flat and everything too. I am directly connected from my deck to both amps. No extra EQs or anything. And no crossover setting. I turned everything all the way down or up and my EQ on the deck was flat and gains all the way down.
  16. Hey guys I really need some help here using my dd-1. I got it today and it's pretty awesome. So stoked to have it. My problem is, it seemed to work perfectly on my alpine mrx amplifier for my sub, but I couldn't get it to work properly on my Alpinde PDX F4 amplifier. A bunch of weird things were happening and I think its something to do with the pdx amps being digital and also how they put out the same power at 2 or 4 ohms. Also the speaker connections are kind of weird using those plugs Can someone help me so I can properly use the dd-1 on this amp. Here are some of the weird things that happened when I tried to use it on the pdx. 1) I first found out my head unit clipping volume by just directly connecting my rcas to the dd-1. I also had all EQs and everything flat. Out of volume 40 my headunit didnt clip it all at 1khz or 40hz. At 39 I could run some equalization and they also didnt clip. So I figured I would set the volume at 39. Then I used the method of testing the head unit volume through the amps to double check. I had all frequencies turned all the way up or down and the gains all the way down as it says in the directions. I found the same results on the sub amp, but I my pdx now it was telling me my headunit was clipping at 38 and if i barely put on any equalization it would clip. This seems strange because I should find the same results by just connecting the rcas to the dd-1 or going through the amp. 2) Anyways I figured I would set the pdx up using the volume 38. Now its weird cause I connected the positive first to my channel 1 and it only let me turn the gain up just barely. Like maybe 2% of how far the knob can be turned. I know this can't be right. I tried a -5db and the -10db track and it still just barely let me turn the gain up. So I tried channel 2 and it doesnt. Pick up any signal at all on the dd-1. This is weird because I know all my speakers put out before. I also found out that channel 4 does the same thing. So I then set the gain for chaneel 3/4 by connecting to channel 3. Then it let my turn the gain all the way up to like 50% before distorting. What the heck is happening? All channels 1-4 should be the same. What is happening here with the pdx?
  17. So STOKED you guys!!! Got mine in the mail today. Order #413. I probably just got it sooner than some of you earlier order guys because I'm only about an hour away from Sacramento. I got to say this thing is awesome. I already used it on my truck. It worked perfectly on my sub amp and made a huge difference. I'm having some issues using it on my pdx full range amplifier, but I know I just need to get some help in another thread. Anyways, this is definitely worth the wait. I already have a bunch of kids at school with systems that want me to tune their systems with it and a bunch of guys on my truck forum. So awesome. Thanks Steve!
  18. Well I'm located in Vallejo. Not too far, but I actually go to school at the California Maritime Academy. Going to get my unlimited ocean's license to be a captain. I dont have a crazy system yet though to show you. I'm also a big fisherman too. Been fishing all my life, but Im from southern california born and raised. I'm a saltwater bass fisherman at heart, but fish for everything. Been fishing the bay some and the napa river catching some nice striper.
  19. I just wanted to share how anxious I am to get my dd-1. Once I get it I'll post up a video to see the results and what it did for me. I already have talked to several people here at my campus who want me to help set up their systems with it too. I can't wait. Anyone know when the next shipment of DD-1s will go out? I tried e-mailing and been watching for updates. Its only been a little over a week though and I know it said 3-4 weeks.
  20. I was curious about this too with my small lack of audio knowledge. I know how ohms can affect the system, but I too was also trying to figure out if ohms would affect setting the gains with the DD-1. I was worried cause I have my pdx amp which runs at 2 or 4 ohms. Looks like you guys answered my question though. I just can't wait to get my DD-1.
  21. Here is me jumping my truck last year in some nor cal mud. Im normally used to my so cal desert but still managed to get some air and sling some mud.
