  1. new not many crescendo is around $899 and its rated at 5600 rms not max, so it gets loud
  2. okay running a bigger fuse than the one recommend it is unsafe, i dont know how yours have the 200a fuse when it should be a 175a
  3. the standard bench test obviously. you put the amp on the bench and look at it. duh OP... ya... we can spot bull shit from 5 miles away on this forum. as for your question... you can really only wire to 1ohm or 4ohm so you better be ok with running 1ohm. ill bet that amp will get pretty hot at 1 ohm. You're right, it was around 4200 but I could of also just done the math wrong, but it is running at 1ohm, I know that for sure its the actual wattage i'm not sure of... what was the load you used? what clamp meter and DMM did you use? Right just looked up amp doesn't do NEAR 5k! Thats peak power. it only does maybe 1700 @ 2ohms and only takes 175a fuse. http://www.sonicelec...SL-EV5000D.html It comes with a 200a ANL fuse... lets go over that math. 200 (amps) x 14.4 (voltage) = 2880 (watts) now that is if the amp was 100% efficient. and of course it isn't. lets say its 70% efficient. most class d amps are around that at 1ohm. 2880 x .7 = 2016 so the amp can not possibly do anywhere close to what you claim. and that is if he has good electrical
  4. Like I said its a cheap set-up to begin with, it came with a 200a fuse but I do agree with it having extra inputs. but whatever, it works and sounds good and so i'm happy with it until I can afford more. okay i get what you are saying but dont claim it does 5000 watts (or 4200) because we all can see its bull crap. i own some RE xtx5000.1 and i have never claimed they are 10000 watts. but they do sound good for what you pay for
  5. Right just looked up amp doesn't do NEAR 5k! Thats peak power. it only does maybe 1700 @ 2ohms and only takes 175a fuse. http://www.sonicelec...SL-EV5000D.html It comes with a 200a ANL fuse... really? Fuse Rating 175A ANL In-Line Fuse CEA-2006 Compliant No
  6. its 5000 watts max on that amp not RMS, true RMS it claims 2500 but im sure its around 1900 because of the fuse rating. if it was a true 5000 watt amp it would have 2 power and ground inputs plus the fuse rating would be at 500a not 175a.
  7. when you say upgrade up front, you mean the battery and alternator? and then add an extra battery in the back? So 2 batteries? yes but if you can fit a big enough battery at front then there is no need for the second one if the alt is efficient enough
  8. adding bigger wire either 1/0 gauge or 4 gauge. one wire from alt to battery another from ground to frame and another ground to engine block. i would run another ground to the alt to make sure the alt is grounded correctly
  9. he has no problem with what his running now. he is upgrading to a bigger amp so an alt is a must
  10. mechman dcpower or singer. stay away from caps. they are only good for a little amp just upgrade upfront and add a rear one so you have no voltage drop
  11. get an alt that is between 200a to 220a and a xs d3100 or similar. if you are looking to upgrade later i would go with a 350a alt its only a few hundred bucks more
  12. its always customer error rusty, we just like to blame the company and always claim to have done everything correctly when we haven't lol
  13. i agree with all you guys and would recommend him to do the same, what i think he is trying to say is run that ns-1 at 4 ohms to play it safe then wire it to 1 ohm once he upgrades or gets more subs, instead of buying a smaller amp then buying the ns-1 later
  14. seeing that you have the port that way im guessing you can make the box a bit bigger and just do a regular port. or is there a reason you want it this way?
  15. yeah thats stuff i would like to know. i dont care if o blow the subs i can always recone and maybe add more subs, still wouldnt stop me from playing safe
  16. yes thats why i was thinking of making the box smaller like 4.5 cubes per sub
  17. 18's that's the reason i would strap them, to only use 1 knob and by the way i have heard that its better to strap since you run amps at 2 ohms making easy on your electrical
  18. so i have 2 Saz-4500D and 2 AA mayhems 2ohms. was wondering should i wire them .5 ohms to run with 1 amp or wire them to 2ohms and strap both amps? i know the subs are rated at 2500 each and will be throwing about 10k at them, should i do it or not? the box they are in is at 12.3 cubes (a little over 6 per sub) i have the DD-1 and CC-1 and was thinking if i run the 2 amps i can use track 3 so i wont feed them too much power. what would you do and how would you do it?
  19. rules say no vs. threads but there is many brands too look into. i hear RE uses very cheap soft parts
