Working on the photobucket. But the amp is old school like 2003 punch not power.

I haven't built a box in 15yrs. The box is gonna house 2 rockford HE2 8's D4. I am gonna push shem with a Rockford 500.2 bridged to 500 @ 4ohm. I am going subs facing up and port back. The box will sit where the center console of my my Ext cab 96 Chevy C1500 Truck is. So I have a 200amp Powermaster Alt. BIG 3 is done. I will have about 3300watts total for all amps. I have an Optima Redtop up front and plan on putting a D3100 in the back. Should I use the stinger battery isolator I already purchased? Or do should I run fused battery to battery without the isolator?

Holy craziness. I forgot I had one of those pushing my Pyramid 6x9's in my 78 Dodge clubcab truck.

As others have said it's all about budget. And if you have the budget I say Fosgate all day.

I have seen a lot of guys using spray foam to stop rattling or fill gaps. I had a friend use the triple expanding foam in his trunk lid and it warped it. Is there a best brand to use so I don't warp sheet metal?

Seems like everyone here uses battery's. So if they test good then they go on ebay for like $30 each

If they are rated like the 500bd than they are rated at 2ohm.

Digging through my garage I found 2 never used Lightning Audio 1 Farad Caps. Can a Cap go bad just sitting around for years (at least 7yrs) like a battery can?? I am trying to figure out if I should sell them cheap or just throw them out.

I haven't put the 3 way JL's in the Truck yet. But I believe I am gonna replace 2 ways in the Z with a 3 way set. Any recommended 3 ways around $300.

I definitely want the system to sound as clean as possible. I know my 2 way infinities in my 350z sound like they are lacking something so I might have to replace them with a 3 way. But the truck has a rumbly exhaust. (yes it is deadoned all the way around). Is a 3 way worth it when in a truck with throaty exhaust.

Crazy, that thread didnt show up in my thread. Since there seems to be no hard answer on which way is preferred. I am gonna do glass my doors and stick with the JL 3 ways I already picked up. Trying to figure out if I should use them in my ext cab truck or sell and go 2 way.

This might age date me a little bit, but my first amp was a pyramid PB600. It was pushing a 15" polypropylene sub. Second Amp was a Punch 45 and then a Punch 150. Not only was the Pyramid my first amp purchased, but it was also my first amp someone broke into my car and stole.

First thing I have to say is you have a great girlfriend for getting you a DD1. My wife was mad because I bought for myself before she could buy it for me. Second, great tool. Today I set my amps in my 350z and tomorrow I am setting my truck. Bass28, if you have a system that needs setting this is the easy way to do it. The instructions are easy to follow. Takes math out of trying to make sure your voltages are right and your not pumping distorted sound to your speakers.

So, I have now tested the DD-1. The wife thinks the system hits harder now that I have everything set. So I am happy. The bad part is it confirmed something I already knew. I need a bigger Sub amp. Great tool, easy to use. The distortion light came on at about the same voltage I expected when setting the gains. Of course I used track 7.

Thanks for the info. Time to order the 3100's.
