  1. lol, dad just braught home a portable dewalt table saw dad has a door machine but he uses it at work tho, its cool as hell how it works u slide a door in, put in door jams, it will bore the hole for the knob and ketch or w/e it is that holds the door shut, then 3 routers come on and route out for the hinges in teh door and jams, then all u gotta do is screw the hinge to it and it slides out and ur done dad has a panel saw at work too so if i need something done all i gotta do is take the wood an cut it gpa was a carpenter, dad was too, one uncle is a mechanic, and the other a mason, and my cousin is a contractor, i still wanna pick up on some things like how to tile, and do mason work
  2. ya, it looked sick, and some of the stuff he did was awesome, some of the stuff i seen had me at an awe, weird what kinds of things u can do with a tree lol
  3. lol, trust me, this aint even half the stuff we got my gpa made a bunch of stuff, from bread boxs to yard makers, to distplay cases i'll take some more pics of the other stuff, got enough cabnet doors to open a cabnet shop lol i wanna put some of this stuff to good use and teach my son when he gets older how to do this and how to get down and get ya hands dirty most of this stuff dad got from gpa, still got the other garage, the barn, and 2 more sheds full of stuff, got a forklift, 2 popcorn machines, a commercial ice maker, all kinds of other stuff dad useto have a door shop at the house and used to make sandpaper rolls for machines so we got alot of other cool things got a circle jig something different from a jasper, i got a jasper but it aint the one with holes in it, ied have to do that by hand lol got a mider saw, prolly 5 more chop saws, 2 more table saws, a shit load of router bits, and i forget what else, got 2 ark welders, i need to fix one cause it gets hot n shuts off pritty much we shouldn't have to pay anyone to do anything for us, im a jack of all trades but some things i can do better than some others, im still learning about stuff tho, im trying to get some lights for the floresent houseings so i can take down the other lights and put them somewhere else i got my own upolstry machine upstairs but aint really messed with it, mom has an enbordery machine but all it does is disney stuff, i wanna see if i can get it to do different things but i dunno i just wanna put this stuff to good use, hate to have shit and dont know how to use it, well some of it im a little rusty lol
  4. other table saw dust collection, i think we got 2 more somewhere lol, more birch plywood gotta have the snack machine lol, got a pepsi drink machine too shelves we made wit more tools lol more shit in another room how big the room is, was gunna be a office on one side and bathroom on other, dunno what we got planed for it yet i aint got any pics of the drink machine yet, i thought i did heres some pics of the other stuff we got john deer 650 tractor wit bush hog, tiller, field mower but i have to weld it back together tho, box blade, scrape blade attachments with it, lol i wanna put hids in it in this pic if u look hard enough u can see the ford 655c backhoe and some of the electrical work ive done so far so if i want to work outside i can, i wired up some work lights at the top now, will get pics of that tommrow it looks junky as hell but once we clean it up it will be good to go now if i can learn how to use a bunch of this stuff i'll be in good shape lol, i kno how to use a bit of it but somethings no so much
  5. well here is some pics of where i get to build shit from time to time and what i have to work with if i need to i'll post some old pics of what tools ive took pics of so far n where they will end up once i finish wireing everything up heres a few power tools we got, i tidyed it up a bit after i took the pic tho a few tools n shit so far and then to where we moved it to heres a view from garagedoor back and if i turn around the welder i guess u could call it a sidestroke sander plainer oldy but goodie table saw, was my gpas parts wash with a bunch of shit piled in it for now lol good ol drill press metal lathe and drill press another pic of it my hvac tools i forgot the name for it but its a big ass router so we can make our own moldings and what knot, the table moves up and down drum sander some of the shitload of cabnet grade birtch plywood 13ply i think that we use to make cabnets and shelves in the workshop
  6. lol, get u one of these i still gotta learn how to use it tho, might end up making my own dist blocks and what knot could make my own battery terminals if i got good at it i guess i'll post some pics of our starting to be workshop, still got hella tools to move into it, what i took pics of is around 1/8 to 1/4 of what we actually have lol
  7. lowes, grizzly tools, home depot, harbor freight, northern hydrolic, tractor supply .co might have some imo a milwaukee or dewalt would be good, there some other brands too like motabo but there more of a hammer drill kinda setup ied go with dewalt, there built pritty good, milwaukee would cost a little more tho this http://www.lowes.com/pd_296577-70-DW120K_0__?productId=1208749&Ntt=right+angle+drill&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dright%2Bangle%2Bdrill its a little expensive but u will use it more than u think, but these have hella torque and can break ur wrists if u aint carefull, but for that price it last a good while u can go a cheaper route tho if u wont use it much, there better for like cutting holes for plumbing and drilling holes for electrical wire we have one of these too and there built pritty good, http://www.harborfreight.com/compact-2-speed-1-2-half-inch-right-angle-drill-97622.html what kinda budget do u have?
  8. we useto have a jaw dropping smiley but when we changed to the others i dont know if we have it anymore maby that will work? ^^
  9. wire em pos to pos n neg to neg n see if final rise is 2ohm or so if both sets get u a 5ohm load maby 2 in parallel will give u 2.5ohm load? dont hook it up to amp like this till u figure out the final ohm load and if its around 2ohms u should be good ive seen people run a/b amps at lower ohm loads and been fine with it, even most ma audio amps are able to run down to .5ohms stereo if ur running a 4ch ied just run 1 set off one channel n 1 set off the other, unless your gunna use other channels for more speakers
  10. i normally use the12volt.com but they didn't have it on there yet for ur car
  11. with this comment and with 60amps of fuseing i think they put 1 zero to many, i think the amp is a 500w max amp, might get 250rms out of it man, ied just run it on the mids n highs and get a decent amp for the subs shit amp on good subs mean good subs go bad lol if it had touble blowing 2 6&1/2's how would it do on some good 12's? not bashing the amp but its missleading, not 5000w, maby 500w if ur lucky, i bet my boss 300w amp puts out more power than that and its smaller, it ran my mtx 8000 15 with gain @ 0 on the amp and no bass boost or anything bridged @ 4ohm if u want cheap go with boss or legacy opti, there a better built amp than pyramid, and i know this from haveing a "pyramid dealer" at local fleemarket and another fleemarket, there subs are decent or the one u had was back n the day, but new stuff is china made shit u could prolly clamp it to see how many watts it puts out if u wanted to, but in my opinion ied not try to run subs with it, maby put it on hpf and run some mids n highs off of it or something good luck with the setup tho bro , just make sure ur buddy asks u befor buying stuff so he can save that money for a decent amp
  12. lol, i vote for some free air vids of the level 6 woofer pron
  13. ok this is about the best explination i can come up with and dont bash on spelling cause most of it is fuked anyways lol to your question is a sub louder inverted or regular, or theres no difference (this post came from the theory that a sub moves up n down so why would it make a difference how its mounted) why subs with magnet inside a box is louder is because most subs have more of a down stroke than an up stroke, my mtx 8000 15's are like this, i hooked em up and played it, held my hand above cone and it only hit it slightly, this is why subs with magnet in the box is louder, and this is why they make bumped back plates and what knot, i have no other nolage of why they do this other than from the subs i have and to help that comment^^ hook a sub up to a 9v battery for a sec with pos to pos n neg to neg n see witch way it goes, imo i think sign waves start @ + first then goes to negative (i have no occiliscope to check this by but every thing ive seen with em does this for an alternating current output) and with the difference between ported boxs like this just works off like sealed boxs, less displacement means bigger box and might be louder to ear due to the box not being suffice in the first place (this is why i inverted my 10's cause my box is to small and i aint had time to build one yet) some questions i have in mind are, if u build a box to spec and reverse the polarity from pos to neg and neg to pos would it change this whole concept? because if u have 2 subs with 1 inverted 1 regular if u wire the invereted one same its "out of phase" but if u change it to pos to neg and neg to pos its "in phase" so wont it be fireing up while the others fireing back? ive never competed in anything car audio related so i have no idea whats louder but wont this play a part in it? im in no way trying to sound like a "know it all" but from what ive learned so far this is all i can make from it hope this helps
  14. it helps if u need to take out the box, if u just run it str8 to amp u would have to cut ur speaker wires everytime u took the box out as with bolts and ring terminals u can pritty much do anything u want to to send power to ur subs and most people that do it like to compete so they can change there ohm loads easier than takeing subs out of the box each time and no longer than they use of allthread i dont think it has much resistance
  15. i was wondering how u make ur own .gif images from a youtube video i found a site a few months ago but forgot what it was this is the video i want to edit, i want to make a gif image from :24-:29 is it possable?
  16. how is vertically inverted any different than vertically regular as far as the mounting goes? there's not 1.5 or so inches of wood to help hold it, i'm just saying out of personal experience. but it is the same amount of wood either way. Not trying to argue with you, I am just confused i think he ment to better anchor the sub to the box when inverted due to all the weight being out of the box and if u was to stop real fast or get in a reck u might break the screws off thats holding in the sub and it come flying at ur head as with a sub mounted regular it has a box to help its terminal velocity hope this makes sence, i mean who would want a 50 pound or so sub flying at ur head? lol, not saying this has the same example in a trunk setup or not but it helps to keep the weight of the motor from stripping out the screws also im somewhat a noob about some things but i like to pittle every once in a while to see the differences, i say if u invert it, secure it with t nuts like this, and bolts, might have to make the screw holes bigger for bolts but i think there a few different kinds of t-nuts to choose oh, n washers might help, but not to big as to get in the way of the subs surround lol inverted woofers ftw!
  17. imo inverted might have pros n cons just like regular mounting like this setup, it gets loud and i love the look of the motors just some questions about inverting would it help better with cooling? i guess it lest u have a smaller box also when ur cramped for space and another wierd question, dont it give u more surface area to produce the pressure rather than what u get off the back of the cone as you would from front without the basket getting into the way? i got my subs inverted and they sound better due to box not being of size, plus i like looking at sexy motors too
  18. having extra shit laying around always helps, like i found some wire at collage when i was takeing hvac n welding and out back of the welding classroom are the dumpsters and i found a shit load of stuff i got my comp chair out of the trash, got my 2 15amp 12v power supplys out of the trash, got alot of cables and what knot, something i like about it is my 8 conductor 16guage cable i used to wire my front speakers active, went fast as hell lol what i thought would take 4hrs only took me like 1hr or so a hint to other car audio people, if u ever decide on running active, keep ur cross overs inside the cabbin, not in doors or on doors as it makes wireing alot easier i got mine mounted on kicks and ran the speaker wire threw the boot, made it super fast, if u want to hide em u can put em under the carpet up close to firewall and stick em to floor with double sided tape or velcro but anyways, when ever i work on my truck i get ideas to want to tweek something or change up something, when i was still takeing hvac i went threw a different setup once a week, went from 15's to 8's, to 1 12, to 1 10, then 2 10's, then back to 1 15, lol i cant make my mind up, a bunch of it was due to space tho car audio takes alot of my time but i like doing it when i aint playin with my son and what knot, now to put a lil system on his little battery operated f150 truck lol
  19. is this good? we got 10mb charter and its ok but a lil more speed wouldn't hurt i wish they had 1gb internet, some computer dude made a modem to run @ 40gb, took him 2min to dl a movie, this was like 2 or 3 yrs ago tho heres a link to it lol http://www.thelocal.se/7869/20070712/ that would be cool to have around here but i'll stick with what i got
