  1. i have a old all silver hifonics brutus bx1000.1d that i have used for quite a while with no problems, and a friend has had a mb quart discus 2000.1 for a while and loves it.
  2. what did you use between the kindle fire, and amps? a processor, a head unit of some kind, or just wires
  3. so, i got the kingtuk, and i love it, it is kinda heavy, and the back of it is slick. so i have to tighten my belt more that with the rough leather of the stow n go. but being able to draw it, and put it back is a plus. I am getting more used to it every day i carry it. I am insanely glad i bought that holster.
  4. i would do like jeremy said, and look underneath to find a good place to bolt or screw through. then if it isnt close to your box, make a bigger piece of wood to fit, then screw the box to that, and screw the wood down.
  5. get some hardboard, or 1/4 in wood and make a piece of wood big enough to cut out the shape of your trunk bottom so that piece cant slide anywhere. then screw your box to that. or screw your box to your spare tire cover.
  6. you could put terminals on the end of the wire, and use a bolt down fuse holder
  7. if you dont want to mess with the resin, you could put a coat or 2 of sanding sealer, it sands smooth as hell.
  8. i wouldnt use the 80 unless you have imperfections you need to work out, starting at 120 would work great
  9. i like how the knobs are big enough to grab, fuck screwdrivers!
  10. The reason for my answer is that the first box is sub up port back, the 2nd is subs and port back. If those are the only 2 he would use, those are my decisions.
  11. what kind of vehicle, in a hatchback, or suv i would do the first, in a trunk i would more than likely do the 2nd
  12. i was thinking about getting one of these, they look like they would be comfortable. I use a smaller galco stow-n-go or something like that because its so small, but those look a lot better. They aren't all that expensive considering that it will be worn quite a bit. But my problem is that im fat (but im working on that, down 20lbs. woot!), so sometimes holsters don't fit as well as they should.
  13. i got an answer about that cable and it said "It is a mixed alloy product. Contains copper and other alloys. CCA is basically copper coated aluminum. This wire contains copper, aluminum, steel, other alloys." this listing sais oxygen free copper for the same price,, http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-ft-Total-8-Gauge-50-RED-and-50-BLACK-Car-Audio-Power-Ground-Wire-Cable?item=170698624791&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26itu%3DI%252BUA%26otn%3D12%26pmod%3D220897872992%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D9208138835598804005#ht_1427wt_1163
  14. i asked him, ill post here what the answer is. I havnt bought any, and I probably wont. I just thought some people might want some. Thanks for the heads up, i didnt even think to ask about that. edit: i also saw a thread on caco, and the gy who bought some said it is fairly high thread count, and is nice size diameter but he doesnt mention if its ofc or cca, and i dont really want to pay to upgrade my account to ask about it.
  15. i saw this, it doesnt look like the best wire around, but it looks like it would work fine for speaker wire. i saw this on another forum and it doesnt look too bad. 1/2 black and 1/2 red http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-ft-Total-8-Gauge-50-BLACK-and-50-RED-Car-Audio-Power-Ground-Wire-Cable-/220897872992?_trksid=e17004.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D6%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7506627930562026749#ht_2011wt_1187
  16. i usually use crc battery cleaner, and crc battery protector, they both come in spray cans and cost about 4$each. or you can also clean with water and baking soda and a tooth brush
  17. a gsg-5 is similar, a guy at work just bought one, it looks nice, but he has only shot about 300 rd through it so he cant say how well it lasts though
  18. I am running the stock electrical at the moment, and 2awg welding cable to the back and 4 awg to each amp. I plan to upgrade the alt to a 94-95 unit, those mustangs came with a 130amp alt. Thanks for looking
  19. outside of car, kinda dirty. the factory speaker grills, you can't tell in the pic, but it is all busted and scratched, are on the right, and the start of the new speaker mounting pieces are there on the left. this is what they will look like when done, more or less. installed, i dont think they look too bad. im not a big fan of the blue interior, but it is better than red i suppose. my dirty ass work area. a small start, i got tired, so i stopped taking any pics. here is a pic of the port. you can see my Jabba in the background. here the box is finished, i painted it with rustoleum hammered finish paint, with a foam roller. here is my box, and both amps installed.
  20. I figured i would post one of my cars on here. I have been lurking for months. I bought this car from a girl my fiance worked with. She said i could have the car for 600$ but it will not start, and if it would start , it wouldn't move. So i decided to take the chance. I put a battery in it, and it started right up, and the only reason it wouldn't move was the clutch was completely destroyed. For the last couple years i had a pair of RF p2d28 in a ported box on a hifonics bx1000d and my highs ran off of an alpine mrv-f250. a friend sold me a jbl 1200 watt amp, and i got a powerbass 3xl-151d on craigslist for 50$, i decided to put it in this mustang. and ended up replacing everything. Powerbass recommends a 5cf box tuned to 28 hz, but i didn't have quite enough room, so i built a box that is roughly 4cf tuned to 30hz. TLDR; equipment head unit: eclipse cd3100 amps: sub amp- jbl 1200.1 highs- concept cc1004, 100x4 rms doors; older set of polk audio dx series components rear; pioneer 5x7(were already in the car) sub; powerbass 3xl-151d The box is 36w x 12t x 24d with a double baffle, and a 1.75x1.75 brace with rounded corners in the center. I used 1 6in aero port, port area per foot came out to only 7.21in per foot, but i decided to give it a try and i like the way it sounds.
  21. To prime I like to use seal grip oil primer, and a foam roller, any good interior/exterior alkyd primer will work. Latex would also work, but oil based products work better under spray paint. 1 coat of that primer is all you need to seal the wood, on all of it but the edges
