What kind of vehicle is it? I remember seeing a thread on SMD or another car audio forum that the person was having the same issue but once he flipped on his headlights his car kicked the voltage up to 14.x. I don't know if this works on all cars tho.

Aren't most prefab boxes tuned to around 45hz?

Well I dont have the 7400HD but the I have the 8400BH and mine clips at 57/62. There really isn't much of a difference between the 2. Only noticeable I've seen is that mine has built in bluetooth.

Well I didn't get the idea from Steve at all. I've always wanted to do something dealing with plexi even before I owned my first sub. Now that I have the money and getting a woofer thats worth it, I think it would be pretty neat.

Well I think I'm going to plexi the top of the box so you can see down and look at the motor. maybe add some led lights as well.

You probably are right. I just found that list online. I think it was the main board or some other chip. But I'd trust what you say more than other people online.

If I build an enclosure and use plexiglass on the back, is it going to affect the sound? Also with the proper bracing could you mount the subs on the plexiglass?

From what I've heard is that the main board they use are used by other companies too. Here is a list of the companies that use these, I found these doing a google search: Nakamichi Polk Hertz PPI Soundstream NVX and Arc Audio.

Yeah my last box was designed by RAM-Designs, I really like it. Basically I'm just trying to find out what type of box this sub really likes.

So I just bought a new sub, SSA Icon 12" D1, and it should be here in a week or 2. I'm going to need help designing a box for it. The Icons are a SQ sub so I'm going to obviously want great SQ but also something that slaps. These subs are very good when it comes to lows, and I love lows. Right now my current set up is in my signature, but I just sold my Type-Rs to a buddy of mine. The box thats in the trunk is 34x16x22. I dont want a box that big if I dont have to, but if I have to it's fine. It'll be running off the Kicker DX1000.1 amp that I currently have until I get enough money to buy another amp, most likely the Sundown Audio SAX-1200D or SAZ-1500D. I will be running the sub in series to get a 2 ohm load being my amp is only 2 ohm stable. What type of box will be best? Ported, Sealed, T-Line, 4th Order? I'm not the best when it comes to knowing information on boxes. So any help is appreciated! Thank you!!

What I personally want is a Kia Optima SX. I think it's a good car and really haven't seen any bad reviews on it. Plus it has a very good safety rating.

I use to use Pandora a lot before I got XM, but I have a AT&T and so I'm limited on data. I've went over 3 months straight, and 1 month over twice, because I would use it that much.

Mine is the same way with my Pioneer. Some stations sound better than others.

I did end up getting it in my car. I purchased the adaptor to hook up to my Pioneer DEH-P8400BH. So far I like it, not the greatest quality but its good.

Yeah I just get annoyed of listening to the same songs all the time.

Is XM Radio worth it to you? I don't get any local channels in my car, I may have a bad antenna or a bad cable which I really dont feel like replacing. I listen to my iPod all the time but it does get annoying. So is XM radio worth it? How is the sound quality? Thank you!

Your best option is to run it to the amps power and ground and then wire in a relay. It's what I had to do being I didn't want to flip a switch all the time.

I've got the X Scorpion Blue LED one. I like it better than the Stinger. Plus I see a lot of Stinger Volt Meters go bad on here.
