  1. there are also a few other pro/con pros smaller box saves space, and uses less wood, $$$ in the pocket flattens out the response peek, increases port efficiency, ie. 2 ports 3"x10" have a surface area of 52" but a 1 port 6"x10" is only 32" allows a shorter port to be used, cons all subs must be the same identical sub should share common power source lower box response peek (if your chasing numbers) box can't be split to fit into smaller areas. ie, 2 smaller boxes on each side of car, allowing access to the centre for storage (depending on sub size) there probably are many more if forgotten,
  2. if ist "almost 2 times recommened" idd be saying 1.2 gross so 1.1net sealed with a single 3" no flared x 9 long, its 1cuft net with with 6.6sq" per/ft, @ 40hz way under any recommended specs the only way a single 3" @ 9" long can do 33hz is in a 1.7 gross, 1.56net box with 4.53sq" per/ft of port again way under any recommended specs but in 1.7gross with a single 4" @ 18" long its 33hz, 1.45net with 8.66sq" per/ft of port this is what is recommended and falls within manufactures specifications Now on the other hand if it in the trunk, this will minimize port noise to the ear, so you should get away with 6-7sq" per/ft at a higher tune
  3. If you disregard your current box and were to build a new 1 without holes for sub How much gross would and what do you think you will have once ported and at what hz If you end up with say 4net at 33hz with an allowance of .25 for subs Pick the best sub for that app Weather it be 10's or 12's That my 2cents And that's how I alway deceid on with subs to use
  4. it not that hard to modify the program, took my mate about 45min to do it
  5. might not exactly what your after, but with a bit more info we'll get it right edit, im out on the sub dis by +0.2liter so your now 32.85hz
  6. Anyone tried 1 yet and got anything to say about it how it preformed Got a mate who just got 2 after hearing mine but wants a bandpass space is not an issues within resion (upto 5gross) thinking of 0.8net sealed, 1 net ported single 2x3" 15long aeros Any help apperacted, As the v2's are new and not much info about them is around yet for bp them
  7. It's pretty easy to convert form one to the other I'm all metric but all audio gear in imperial So you either /25.4 for millimeters to inches or x25.4 for inches to millimeters A good advantage to this is there are more options on sizes when tuning, my last port was 10"x75mm
  8. you could build a bigger box in car very easly, but how big i dont no you look at going to more smaller subs ie 8" 12off 600sq" cone area 10" 6off 470sq" cone 12" 4off 452sq" cone 15" 2off 350sq" cone 18" 1off 250sq" cone 4x15"= 700sq"cone the closest to that is 12x 8", but you could squeeze in 14 if you wanted to @700sq" cone it all comes down to money, and what you want
  9. Should give some room to move, but idd say only 2x15 but you could squeeze 3 will little fuss if you want to wall it thats a different story
  10. And yes port like that is ok its a standard L-port Also if you want it at 37hz tune it to 36hz as you haven't allowed for any bracing
  11. Idd make the box out of 1" Make the port a bit smaller aim for 15sq" p/ft And try to make the box a bit bigger at least 7.5-8cuft And your subs are 0.22cuft each
  12. As said before Anything is possible BUT YOU NEED TO GET THE TAPE OUT And take some measurements. For 4x 15 you'll differently need to go up to window line and full width maybe even right to rear doors But take the measurements Post them here and someone will work out the volume at set hz and you can chose you subs form the volume available
  13. These are some options to look at i pretty sure you can fit up to 59" in width in your car but let us no if you cant something to hit the lows real loud My chose good all rounder semi-SPL full SPL
  14. Everything look ok but hz I'm not a home to try any variations idd drop the port size down to around 4.75 (15sqin per ft) and lower the tuning to around 33hz Even just making the port smaller a bit smaller will lower your tuning,
  15. I had 1 in 7net, at 34 on 1000rms with 90sq" or port I wouldnt go less then 5net each But they will work in 3-4net if tuned higher
  16. very nice looking box you can certainly tell the difference between boxes when you have all the right equipment, i have to buy my corner bits as i dont have a table saw (but at $1per 3ft its not thats bad) as for the corner in the port, it was a slight overview due to being nilly 3am over here, questions were asked about trunk opening and deepth restrictions mine for 2 sa8 before front baffle fitted Trial fitting 5/8 plexi before it gets sandblasted with logo in it, then 4ft of blue led heat shrink will be fitted around the outside to show logo
  17. On a side note other site only you edit for up to 1 Hr after post, it would be nice if it happened here to, might stop some blank posts Back to the topic at hand 90deg all side is fine. I only told you about the angle incase you hadnt thought of that and you have space issues I have seen my fair share of love, and time, go into peoples first box builds, only to find they don't fit, or are not sitting where there ment to be And for a first time builder I wouldn't recomend an incar build,
  18. Most back seats have 4" of deepth to 16" of height give or take a few deg. So if you build a box at 90deg on the the front there will be approx 4" of space at the bottom and touching at the top. This is not a problem as long as you measured you max deepth from the top of where box will touch back seat and not the bottom As you'll be to big in deepth otherwise
  19. Any preference on meteral I prefer 1" with spans over 12" and up, but 3/4 is more then enough when braces correctly, Have you also measered the angle of you back seat or do you plane on not sitting it flush at bottom Another thing to consider is the trunk opening I normally measure this and make sure the box will fit through door, Another hint is if the max measurement between wheel arches is 35" then you may have trouble fitting box it due to trunk door not allowing box to fit straight in. If it does then your ok If not make the 35" equal the diagonal of you box and it will normal fit easy as
  20. there only ratted at 750rms @3-6cuft and having fried many kicker subs in my time through over powering idd say no idd be strapping the 2 sub to 1 amp @ 2ohm giving 800rms each edit look at mechman in the sponsor section for H/O alts
