  1. So i'm about to order the DD1, but i have a few questions. i basically already know how to do everything from so many videos lol but heres my thought. I know your supposed to set the gains on the HU to flat. in my case, until i get my new components speakers, and 4 channel. i like to boost the treble so my shitty speakers somewhat comete with the bass. wouldnt if be smarter to turn up the treble during setting things with the DD1. if you were to turn down the eq you cant relly clip going down lol but going up wouldnt you? and yes i know i dont have a dd1 yet but ive read so much and watched so many videos i figured it was a logical question
  2. Nice man. ordering my DD1 next week. hopefully i get it before my first comp at the end of the month
  3. i did spaces and no spaces and worked for both so it cant be that for himAhh ninja'd
  4. works for me. intern ecomomy is 55.73 and intern priority is 61.43 if that helps but idk. maybe its server or something
  5. i was also thinkin the A1's. not crazy like the ones for over a grand haha. but thanks, goo to knwo
  6. kinda jumping in on this but also based on his budget, are the lower focal speakers any good? obviously there focal but idk ( sorry for jumping in or your thread OP)
  7. I thought is was but i had a guy deisgn it for me whose done alot of boxes for people who use Skar VVXs and IVXs so idk. techincally yes, especially because the sub is being overdriven but im trusting he knows lol
  8. direct connect as in bolts? or like running the wires through the port nciely strait to amp? sorry for the dumb questions haha
  9. I'm making a new box. and i really want it to look clean and sick. As we all do haha. Anyways, i want to put about a 7" tall x 12" wide window in so you can see that sub. i want to put some blue leds on the inside but outta site so you can see it all nice looking. my main questions is what to use, and what thickness. i'm going to countersink whatever the depth of the plexe or whatever is so it sits flush. and ofset it so there is about a 1" border of mdf. ill post some pics to show what i mean. and as far as sealing it, i want to find a nice thin ruber gasket, and use some nice stainless or something allen screws. so if i ever want to, i can take the window out. do not wanna gue in. secondly i want to do something cool with the termimanls. its a d4 sub so i though about running each set of +'s and -'s to each side of the window and using nice high quilty bolts that are nicely trimmed down. but my issue is where do i go from there, just wrap te wires around the box? that wouldnt look good to me :/ so taking auggestion on that. anyways heres some pics. the box is 40 wide by 12 tall. the window will be where the text is, basically dead cetner where the sub is. and as for the offset thing i mention. picture the baffle for the sub, only the two .75 mdf being one piece, the part the plexi rests on i want to be a 1" border, and then itll sit flush.
  10. Heres my build so far. i'll put up some pics of the sub in the box haha and the amp i have installed on the amp rack. i posted some pics of the new box that i'll be bulding for the vvx 15 but thats it so far. more pics later today!!
  11. so i dont have any big clamps. how should i build it. start with the bottom, predril obv. abut just glue it and screw it?? and hopefully i do it right? haha
  12. well for those i was going to clamp them. i hace little claps so. . .. and another basic question. what do i do for puting the su in, should i use anything to seal it, and should i drill holes, what kinda scres. and such, , , it does have a rubbering thing one it so i think as ong as i cut the hole good enough and it fits in all the way it should seal.
  13. heres the new bos that i'm going to be building, and as far as putting the two top pieces together, just glue the shit outta them?? lol
  14. wouldnt you want to put the top on last, that was you have access to everything? not the back on last
  15. silicone is bad cuz it eats the sub somehow. .. but if its cured, it should be fine (to my knowledge) but i see 98% of people go through there box with white silicone, and just let it cure for a day or two then its fine. just to ensure that box is sealed.
  16. haha ok so countersink. didnt do that. i did predrill but i think i did to big so i'll try smaller and hopefully they won't strip. and i always see people using silicon to seal their boxes. . . but they let it cure for a few days first. still bad? and what else could i use for minor minor air leaks? and thanks guys
  17. so thats why i was thinking dowels, cus they blend way better and you can sand them perfectly flat
  18. ok, description on screws? my first box, and only one so far, they tended to strip out the mdf and i couldnt really sink the screws :/
