  1. I am putting a system in my truck and im not sure what kind of mids and highs to run. I want my system to be real loud yet sound really good. I have a MB Quart 800.4 which i will be using. I was thinking of getting two crescendo 6.5s and two bullet tweeters and running the mids on channels 1&2 and the tweets on 3&4 but that would leave me with no rear fill and im not familiar with the clarity of that kind of set-up. Please help me figure out what would be best for my application!!
  2. i have 4 kenwood kfc 6x8s that are 80 wrms. what amp would be best to power them. I was thinking about getting the rockford t400-4 which is 60wrmsx4 but theyre very underrated and most get around 80wrmsx4+the power from the which is about 22wrms. would this be too much to power them with and how should i set the freq and other stuff on the amp? thanks EDIT: i also found a memphis audio srx 4.300 this looks a lot better
  3. So i really want to have i nice loud and clean sounding set up in my 01 tahoe. Nothing record breaking or anything just loud and clean. I have two rockford p3 12s in the back and the rockford t365 component speakers in the front doors. Im not happy with the 365s at all. They are labeled "full range" and say they can go down to 30hz but thats crap. They are great with highs but cant handle mids at all. So iwas considering addingthe rockford punch 10" mid range speakers in each doir also. But when it comes to speakers im clueless. Should i invest in some good 3 way speakers like the focal k2 3 way system or will just adding a midrange speaker be fine?
  4. Hello, I need some opinions on if i should add rear speakers to my vehicle build or not! Currently getting, Avhx8500 head unit MLK2TW hertz Mille 6.5 components W6V3 in HO enclosure I get a insanely great price on the MLK2TW component set and looking at grabbing a set for the rears as well. The sub is going in the backseat facing the front of the car right behind the front seats, Still room for two passengers in the rear. My friend and i go out driving all the time and i dont want them to have no rear speakers if it will make a huge difference. If i grab rears they will all be run off a HD6004 and if i only get fronts it will be a slash300/4v3. Should i get rear speakers as well?

    Amp Help

I need help finding the best amp for my speaker set up. I have 2 sets of Oxygen audio O2 5.25 components (http://www.electronicsbonanza.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=17656&sku=O2-OC525) that run at 130 watts at 4ohm, and i am getting 2 crescendo pwx 6.5 (http://store.crescendoaudio.com/pwx-6-5-mid-range/) that run at 150 watts at 4ohm. I am putting two oxygen speakers and 1 pwx in each front door of my car. I am having trouble finding a good amp that wont break the bank. I would like to run active but its not necessary.
  6. My good friend Aaron, aka Psyph Morrison, has never had a real system in any of his cars before. If you don't know who Psyph is (pronounced Sife), look him up on itunes, spotify or any other music app out there. Youtube as well. I have known him over 10 years and even worked with him on his last 3 albums as an executive producer. Ok, now that is out of the way, the reason he is getting a system is because well, the entire time i have known him and worked with him making music, especially music with a lot of bass, he has never had a system of his own. I don't know anyone who has had more car issues than him so we really never made it to the discussion of a system. Not too long ago he picked up a 2002 Honda Accord 4 door. I knew right then he has a reliable vehicle finally. So i offered to slap some beat in it for him. Watching him pull up, slapping his own music in a (not so great) stock sound system was really bothering me. How can my boy ride around like that if he know's ME? Long story cut short...his car is at my shop for a few weeks while i figure out what i am going to do. I have NO "plans". I just want to get him some good equipment, set it up proper and make him happy! ****NOTE, anything you see here is subject to change as i am totally freestyling this. Trying to just make it work. First i stopped by Arden Audio in Sacramento Ca. They always have what i need in stock over there and if they don't i can get it same or next day. I decided to pick Psyph up a new head unit first and foremost. I also got the dash kit and wiring harness to go with it. Grabbed some SkyHigh 16ga OFC speaker wire to run to the doors. The system will consist of (so far) Pioneer DEH X7800 BHS Head Unit Rockford Fosgate Punch 1000.1 (BASS) Rockford Fosgate Punch 300.2 (Highs) (2) Rockford Fosgate P3 12" subs (ported enclosure) (1) Set Rockford Fosgate T2 6.5" separates SMD Fuse / Grounding Blocks Mechman 1/0 OFC Power Wire Skyhigh 12 and 16ga Speaker Wire I already had a P300.2 but i got him a matching 1000.1 to go with it. These P3 12" subs are not brand new but might as well be. They are in brand new condition! They are my old ones. This box was already finished and just hanging around the shop. I KNOW it sounds good so it should do great in his trunk! The trunk floor is at an angle so i have to make a platform and flatten it out some so the box sits level.
  7. I own a set of Polk Audio db1222's which peak at 1500w and i recently bought a Pioneer GM-D8601 amp which peaks at 1600w, so i guess my question is; by overpowering my subs by 100w and i going to kill them? Or can i set the gain down to get less power and be good
  8. Hey guys ill give you a bit of a run down of what happened. I have a set of Rockford Fosgate T2652-S speakers in my front doors in my ute. Randomly one cross overs died after about 10 months of use then another couple of months later the second cross over and a tweeter also died also. They just ran out of warranty and went to buy a new set but they are all sold out and almost double the price i paid for them. Dont get me wrong i run Rockford gear and love it to death but has put me to look for other brands. Being from Australia its hard to get decent speakers at a good price. Any to the good stuff what should i replace them with? I have been looking at the Soundstream tc6.5 what is half the price (By the time i inport them) and higher spec but cant find any reviews on them. Any ideas that wont cost a arm and a leg $300 and under would be best
  9. I have a question regarding how wattage is distributed between speakers. I understand that my amp, will supply 3000 watts at 2 Ohm bridged. And if I have two drivers 4 Ohm each connected in parallel, I will drop the Ohms to 2 in total. So my question is, If I have these connected to my amp in the said configuration, Will EACH driver get 3000 watts? or is the power evenly distributed say 1500 watts per driver? Thanks.
  10. so i bought two sa15s, love love love sundown. i have them running off a saz2500. i have my electrical system all upgraded now so im moving on to my next step, my vocals and sound quality! now i wanted to get the new sundown neo pros but are they really worth the money? im in a battle between the neo pros and the crescendo pwx's. opinion on which is better? specs? i here both are amazing but i cant decided which i want. cosmetically i love the look of the pwx's, better than the neo pros, and i love their ft1 super tweeters(i really want those lol) but help me out! any suggestions or comment would be appreciated
  11. Alright, I need some opinions, I'm looking into redoing my stock door speakers in my 2011 F150. So far, I've picked out the Rockford Fosgate T400-4 amp, the T252-S components for the front, and the T1572 5x7s for the rear. I just want some opinions on if this setup would sound good or what's better. Remember, college student budget, under $1000 total, lol. Ive already got 2 DD 1508's under the back seat, so no subs. Thanks!
  12. Hey guys! Christmas time is coming up and im looking to pick up so new speakers for my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. I just don't know what speakers are "good" I guess so if you guys could help me pick out some that aren't pricey but still have decent sound. I'm not looking for any super SQ build or anything like that just something to upgrade from my stock speakers. If I get new speakers im assuming i'll need another amp to power then as well? If thats the case, feel free to recommend a cheap amp to go with the speakers as well. Right now I currently have an AQ750 hooked up to a Fi X 12. Any help is appreciated guys! Thanks!
  13. I have been looking at getting some good component speakers. I came across oxygen i found this speakers. http://www.electronicsbonanza.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=17656&sku=O2-OC525 I was wondering if anyone had ever heard them in person. they are cheap so i wounder how long the will last, if they sound good, and are they worth it. I have seen youtubers like EXO and Twisted child review them and they said they were really good. I wounder if they are still good or not.
  14. Hey guys I'm finally doing videos and updates of all the things I've been doing to my car over the last few years. I stumbled into the world of car audio a little over a year ago so im still learning. Its nice to have a community of intelligent people that I can bounce some ideas off. Let me know what you think! 15. Hey. I have 2 13w7s. looking for a comp set up around 4-600 dollars that will keep up, was considering going with 2 sets of jl c3s. have heard them, they get loud and clear. any suggestions? I love the hertz hsk xl, but ive heard they freeze in the cold and i work in the cold alot.
  16. So installed two new 6x9 RoadMaster Speakers that my girlfriend had lying around in my 2006 Pontiac G6 Gt. Both worked fine until this week I noticed a static noise coming from one of them. Went back there today and I found a allen wrench and a phillips head attachment on the magnet of the speaker. Could that be what's wrong with them? Any help?
  17. Im looking to buy 2 Crescendo mp6 speakers, but i cant find where to buy them. If you know how or where to buy them please reply.
  18. so i just got a new car and i dont want to replace the head unit or run wires all the way to the front other than the power wire cuz theres so many dang panels haha. my amp has speaker level inputs to use instead of rcas for factory head units. so my question is can i just run them to my factory amp which is in the trunk rather than to the speakers on either side of the car or head unit?
  19. Hi guys, so I've had this sub-woofer in my SUV for over a year now. The other day it started to make a crackling/static noise in the whole audio system. All the door and dash speakers are heavily effected, its only when the bass hits. When i go into the stereo settings and turn off the subwoofer everything works fine. I've completely rewired the system, everything has a clean connection. Any ideas? Or suggestions? Thank you in advance!
  20. Foes anyone have any idea what one out performs the other or the pros and con's of each sub?. Its only going to be one of these in the back of my car and probably underpowered by an old amp I have laying around.
  21. this may be one of the most noob question to ask, but here it goes. My Brother has a 2004 Subaru forester and he's looking to revamp his system with my help. he already has an Elemental Designs e3.8 8" subwoofer thats getting a box design from PWK so hes got the little bit of low end he wants, but he really wants some bangin coaxials for his car. he mostly listens to hard rock if that helps at all. he says he wants 4 coaxials for "under $200" but i bet if they are just that awesome he will probably go up to $250. i believe he already has some shitty RE 5.25" coaxials in there that just sound terrible so 5.25" is where were shooting, but if its easy to modify his door to fit like 6.5"s it, that would be nice too, but that sounds like a lot of work that im not quite sure how to do. if you have any ideas please comment on this post so i cant get this build started! thanks in advance!
  22. so i bought two sa15s, love love love sundown. i have them running off a saz2500. i have my electrical system all upgraded now so im moving on to my next step, my vocals and sound quality! now i wanted to get the new sundown neo pros but are they really worth the money? im in a battle between the neo pros and the crescendo pwx's. opinion on which is better? specs? i here both are amazing but i cant decided which i want. cosmetically i love the look of the pwx's, better than the neo pros, and i love their ft1 super tweeters(i really want those lol) but help me out! any suggestions or comment would be appreciated
  23. When first beginning my build i did not think i would need one, but recently i read that if im going to have different sized speakers i will need one. I will be running 4 sundown NeoPro 6.5's, a pair of Rockford Fosgate T1675-S Comps, a pair of Rockford Fosgate Power T152-S Comps and two Hifonics HF8SQ. They will all be running on seperate amps which is why i belived i didnt need a crossover. Can someone please drop knowledge on me?
  24. Hi, this is just for my knowledge for the future as I don't know what is completely right. I know you are not suppose to mix and match subs and different impedance. My question is if you wanted to run 32 speakers off of 1 channel, can you hook multiple speakers up using parallel AND series as long as they are the same woofer and impedance and everything? Or is this something that can only be one or the other (series or parallel). If you can use series and parallel together...then you could in fact use two dual 4 ohm subs to get a final load of 1.6, correct? (8 ohm parallel with 2 ohm)(using 12volt calculator). More info on top of this is welcomed too.
