  1. I've ran around 2k in the past, stock alternator, extra battery in the trunk, with no problems. Now, not to leave out the fact that you will experience voltage drop which will keep your amps from being capable of they're full output.
  2. The interesting thing I noticed people selling these things used online is, when crescendo is out of stock on one of the models, i've seen them sell for more than they retail for . When I was lloking for a 3500, the only one for sale I could find was used and he was asking $750 plus shipping, out of irritation I posted a comment you know that's almost $100 higher than they retail for and its used, and he quickly replied he had already sold it for that price. crazyness, then he called me an idiot Then the next day I got a brand new one for almost $100 less, hehe
  3. I noticed this problem start in the last few days with the cometbird browser, I always use it, then a few days ago youtube won'tload videos in that brwoser and I get the server error screen, I switched to internet exploiter and its fine Only bad thing about that is the SMD website starts to freeze up on IE where cometbird gives me no problems, go figure

  5. Yea every car has so many differences, You are sure one tricky bastard Mr. Sound Waves
  6. One time it was later at night, it looked like the lobby at hardees was open, (turned out the drive thru was 24hours only) I walked to the door, it was locked, as Im walking back to my car 2 cops fly up, block my car in and gave me a loitering ticket, it was pretty much unbelievable. They asked what I was doing, and I told them I was going there to eat, they laughed, said the lobby is never open after midnight which I did not know because they looked open, and still gave me a ticket.
  7. I have a question for you if you don't mind answering. Can you legally pull someone over in a parking lot? My dad swears up and down that it's illegal for a cop to pull you over since its private property. If businesses are closed, It can be considered loitering, or cruising, seen tickets for this handed out left and right. If the buisinesses were open, what in the world did you do, CNI? if you are driving wreckless through a parking lot, you can still get in trouble, but otherwise, you would definitely have ot do something to draw attention
  8. They will do that, but you can still get speeding tickets and noise tickets, I was speeding because I accelerated fast trying to blow water off my car after a car wash, (long time ago) the detector went off, then over a half mile down the road, police was sitting there and got me, I wasn't trying to speed, and wouldnt have continued, she just happened to clock me when I was breaking the limit, I dont use a detector anymore, because there is no need to waste the money on one if you obey traffic laws. I thought the same thing back in the day, I will know when to turn it down, honestly, its going to be a waste of money for you. And you should not worry about it. As long as you are a good citizen, and don't give any reasons for the police to give you trouble, your odds of getting a ticket are slim to none. Promise he was just checking you out. I've been pulled over many times for no real reason at all, when the stop is over, if your cooperative, just realize they are doing they're job, be polite and nice, they will realize your nothing he needs to worry about, won't bother you, and next time he see's you if he remembers you from the stop, may wave to you to say hi. I have a few friends that are Police officers, and my fiancée's dad is a bigwig for a huge department, they are all just trying to as a whole, keep your community safe.
  9. i gain cooling the cabin an leaving rear a/c on...moving seats forward, flipping visors etc will gain also I can agree with keeping the cabin cooler, but when if comes to the additional amps needed for a high powered system during a run, I would keep it off so all power is applied to the amps
  10. If I think of anything else I will chime in Oh, you have a truck, get a couple friends to lean on the back windows like so http://youtu.be/qgTV1yMntME anything you can do to keep your vehicle from flexing
  11. I wish I knew someone with a TL! I agree with the closing oif the air vents, ive used it and gained from it Also, be sure your power hungry AC is off be sure that no interior or exteriot lighting is on In other words, anything that would use electricity that isn't needed for your stereo or your car running. rev and hold your engine RPM level around 2000- unless limited per class SOme things I have seen give gains and work, i have not tried yet. Romoving all floor mats in the car (carpet), If your box is carpeted remove carpet anything carpet acts as a sound absorber, so anything that can easily be removed get rid of it. Drink beer during the entire event Flipping your visors down (seriously) when your at full tilt, and the DB is holding, try flipping the visors
  12. www.termpro.com clcik db drag, then you can see what classes you qualify for, its more fun to enter multiple classes, it gives you more chances to find the sweet spot of your system. and more odds of placing and winning a trophy, I entered 4 classes on friday in a midwestspl event, it gave me lots of info on how where I thought I was tuned good, turns out my sweet spot is a whole 10 hz from where my tuning was, so now I will make the proper ajustments so next time, my sweet spot will have more power and not be limited as I had it.
  13. Yea, back in the day, I got pulled over for a burnt out headlight, that magicly turned back on after the stop was made. These are just common issues you will face driving a car/truck, its the police doing things like this that helps prevent crimes, catch criminals, and continue to keep your areas safe. I also listen to the police scanner almost everynight in my area, and it seems like every other stop they make, they capture someone with felony warrants and all kinds of other stuff.
  14. One thing I have learned over the years, police often times, if they feel the need to check someone out, will pull people over for anything, in this case, he may have heard your stereo, it might not have been as loud as you think it was, but a cop can pull anyone over just to say "turn it down" while in the process, seeing if your acting nervous, or checking for the smell of alcohol or drugs. I've had a cop stop me to tell me my factory stereo was too loud with no aftermarket anything, then ask if give been drinking, are there drugs in the car, run your name for warrants ect... are you sure you haven't been drinking I caught a whiff of alcohol, are you sure, are you sure, do you Have any weapons, are you still sure you haven't been drinking yada yada yada, The only people I've seen get tickets were obviously being inconsiderate to surrounding people, like playing the system at full tilt windows down at 1 am through a retirement neighborhood , 9 times out of 10 if you are pulled over for your stereo, are respectful to the officer and honest, and not doing anything to actually break any serious laws they will be polite back and just say "please keep it down" I wouldn't worry about the heat part, because even if they do log it, your odds of getting pulled over for the stereo again are slim, unless its a cop with personal issues that likes to take it out on people by abusing his authority by picking people to pick on, in that case then as long as you log what continues to happen you can nail them for harassment. There is truly no way of them metering your cars loudness accurately due to ongoing sounds in the city, it will always be different, there is so much traffic where IM at you cant even tell what car is beating unless they are directly in front, back or on the side of you.
