Looking for some new motors to add to my collection and to have for a future build. Really looking for American made stuff, but throw what you got at me and maybe we can make a deal.

ebay, There is one going for 54.99$ right now actually. I was thinking about buying it and just blowing it up or abusing it. Once you get a new amp...you're going to want a new sub, then you become an addict like the rest of us....
-
I wouldn't give that sub more than 1500 watts and probably would keep it in a sealed enclosure if I was to give it that much. I've seen those subs go brand new as cheap as 94.99$

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42 Here is the wiring configuration and ohm's law. you will be running two 4 ohm dvc subs in paralell or series. (1 or 4 ohm) Those brutus amps put out between 1200-1500 watts @ 1 ohm depending on which model you get. So whatever amp you get make sure it it 1 ohm stable and make sure you follow the recommended power/ground wire size. for 1200 + watts I would use 1/0 at leastfor ground/power. Are you making an enclosure or using a pre-fab?

Nice motors, horrible soft parts. Would offer you 75$ -
depending on the options a recone would run you 130-170$ You should just recone it because the new recones have the sewn leads between the spiders to no worries for lead slap or break.

If I may ask..how much you get it for?=]

My cousin just aquired an Fi Q 18. Its the newer motor. He would want 200 plus shipping

Heres the break down. Before I would even think about running 1 ohm for daily even if I was only doing 1000 Watts, I would have the big 3 done at least with 1/0 with a nice starting battery, grounded to the strut ground up front, and in turn grounded to your rear battery. Power to power, and make sure you have at least a 600V agm battery in rear and a meter to survey your voltage. I was trying to help, so stop thinking you know more and rephrase your post to a question. Answering the questions I asked in the last post would have helped you more. But since you want to be a know-it-all, have fun with your set-up.

I would wire the sub to 4 ohm, and see if you were just having problem keeping it powered. what are the specs on the amp @ 1 ohm? I would recommend getting a battery in the back to do your grounding there, not to the frame. There is an HC1400 on ebay right now for 150 free shipping and a bunch of hc600s. Where did you attain your RE amplifier?
-
They bench at 1748 W @ 14.4V. If you have it modded it will probably put out a little more than that a @ 1 ohm. RMS is definitely 1400 @ 2 ohm. I have mine running at 1 ohm currently and its definitely putting out more than 1500 RMS

Thats what im asking lol. I would like to wall it but as i stated before, i really want to be able to see out my rear view mirror. Why? I say do 2 12's in the trunk and use the back seat area to mount a pair of amps. Before you do something this crazy i would reccomend having heard a box for those SXs port back subs back. These subs can get rowdy just dont feed them more than rated 1000rms those motors dont have any cooling options Anyway, good luck, you seem to have it handled. I'll be looking out for the build log. Well thats what i have now lol. I got 2 RE SXX 12's on the edge of the trunk facing the front (sealed with darn duct tape lol) on a crappy Power Acoustik 4000.1 mounted on a board i made that lays where the seats used to go. It looks good, just not loud enough for me. Also, i want to start competing next year so this would be the build to compete. The only thing i havent figured out was where to put the port. I can put it facing the front or facing the roof. Thats what i am asking your guys's help on. And yeah ill make a build log of it when i start in about 2 months.

cloud77 replied to noser7's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Go to Fi site and look at the tech info on the sub. That will be a good start. I think they recommend 12 sq in of port per cubic foot. -
Would love to have it. year?
