sounds good to me....in a nutshell, you want to upgrade your alternator's and battery's ground wire, and the positive wire from the alternator to the battery. and it sounds like you did :^

placed 4th in bassrace 140-149.9 class...dont see his score if he did drag or not...here is the link to all of the scores, and its kinda confusing becuase it shows the competitors highest spl throughout qualifying and eliminations during finals, it doesnt show which score won finals... http://www.termpro.com/asp/members2.asp?Wh...rID=8338&Page=2

To fuse or not to fuse?
andym85 replied to Cuseikan's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
i fused between the alt and batt, and from the batt to amp...better safe than sorry and on fire or melted. plus if you compete, fusing is usually required... -
well, we tried to warn you... :-X ...anyways, YOU NEED TO BEEF UP YOUR ELECTRICAL BADLY, as with most beginners this is an oversite and sometimes leads to bad things... i.e. fires, fucked up amps and such. as for keeping your wiring clean, just run the wire underneath the carpet and wire tie everything, its really not that hard, it just takes time

here is a few i got...not to thread hijack or anything...just sharin what i got... this deathmatch was awesome by the way... the king of bass... a guy on this team told me that they weighed this van in at 17,000 pounds!!!

man that sucks...im a huge dog person myself...hate seeing animals getting hurt like that :'( -
forget the caps, they are just a band-aid. your electrical situation really needs some help. with 2400watts you should look at gettin a bigger alt and defineately a couple of batteries. capacitors are not the answer....but a new alt and battery can get expensive. if i were you i would forget the second amp for now and start upgrading your electrical system...just my opinion though...

run as big as u want...just make sure u fuse properly. kicker has 2/0 gauge...or use welding cable. i got mine from www.trystar.com or www.weldingsupply.com...they got it up to 4/0 gauge :^

143.2 at about 38hz out of a trunk with (2)10's and 1200watts (meca style) -
David yea...i have no idea what the hell happened, my finger must have slipped on the calculator :-[. i took 3/4" off everthing but that is still 4.61cf....sorry...lol

if those are your outside dimensions then that only comes to about 1.77cubes per box and that is before any displacement from the port/subs...i would say that is waaayyyyy to little air for 3 10's... i would say do about 4 cubes per box (maybe more) and after u figure in port and sub displacement that should be around 3 cubes net (1cube/sub)...and maybe tune it lower. the longer the port the lower your tuning, so make it long (maybe start at 32hz) and keep cutting some off until it sounds like u want it

emperorjj1 what he said...but it has to be sealed off air tight, not just some half ass seal job, cause if there is a spot for soundwaves to go into the rear, it will happen
