IMO If you go cheap on an amp it will just piss you off, because a cheaper amp might only allow 20 minutes of full tilt bangin before shutting down, compared to a quality amp that will last as long as you can go.

Steve, you're sinking a lot more time into this build than I even thought possible. Impressive!

In my metro area any police interactions are recorded and stay with you for a long time, even if you didn't get a ticket. That way the cops can know if they're dealing with someone who has constant interactions with the police.

Thanks all of you for the responses. Just to clarify, I never said I wanted to be heard for blocks, I was wondering if two less subs affected sound further away than just in the cab of the vehicle. I'm sorry to have touched on a sore spot on this forum.

As for right now, I'm the wanna be. I hope never to be the dumbass or a-hole. Let me rephrase that. Back when I was 18-25 I was both. Now that I'm 32, I've pretty much outgrown both the dumbass and asshole phase of my life, for the most part.

There are some websites that claim the Soundstream XXX 18" sub is 10,000 watts RMS, but others claim it's only 8,000 watts RMS.

This is my first thread here. This is a great site. Here's a question that I've spent a lot of time thinking about. Say I have 4 alternators, 6 batteries, one 15,000 watt amp and 4 subs that can take 10,000 watts a piece. This system would be pushing 15,000 watts through 4 subs. If I have everything the same, but have only two subs, can the two subs sound just as loud as the 4? How about from a block or two away?

OP talks with a mechanic about a system. Mechanic gets a system, then asks OP to bring his system by. OP does, then mech asks him to post his build on another forum. OP goes through BS on that forum. Thank God this forum isn't close minded like other forums. That's pretty much it.
