For the 2015 Mustang EcoBoost, Ford sound engineers and developers worked on an “Active Noise Control” system that amplifies the engine’s purr through the car speakers.

This would be the equivalent of having a boom mic in front of a woman's mouth during sex by a guy who doesn't bring the heat. Iy amplifies the purr to give the impression the equipment he has under the hood is actually doing something

Remember when they used to record, invert, and replay engine noise to cancel out the sound of the engine so you could have a nice quiet ride?
