well im glad i know what is going on now. i didnt bash mechmans company or whatever you wanna call it. i just wanted opinions on it and now i actually know what happened with my alternator. the shipping was in fact 39 dollars exact. and acutally because i made this thread i did get information. its not like im trying to put a bad name on mechman, i know it seems like i am but its just trying to get information.and why would i get my money back now i already went through the bullshit i just want my alterntor back and in my car.

well it all comes down to them making me pay 40 bucks for shipping and then not emailing me back. its not that its doesn't fit its just the way there handling it in my opinion. i understand they have allot of work but when you email someone in 30 minutes when you need something from them and they give it to you and then you don't reply back after i ask if they are gonna reimburse me. i mean im broke dude. im spending every last bit of money getting ready for slamfest

i can see why your pissed man! but in the end mistakes happen. I know your angry now but man when its fired up and owering im sure it will all be worth it! i use to build rc planes and i had it on the runway 12 times and kept noticing flaws so i wouldn't take off and man was i pissed every time but everytime i put it back on the work bench a tweaked it a little more! when i finally had it all set right and it took off i was soo excited! moral of the story wait until she fits and the shit along the wont matter ^^. If you want horrible customer service try online car stereo haha i can see why your pissed man! but in the end mistakes happen. ya that's mainly why i was getting pissed cause i know they wont contact me over the weekend. i wish he was working on my alt. but i just sent it out yesterday. well hopefully everything will turn out good. i just want the damn thing to fit in my car lol

ok so i have been wanting to get a 170 amp high output alt from mechman for almost a year. then i finally get the money and order it for my 2001 oldsmobile alero 2.4L. i wait a week and then i get a email that says the tracking code and everything. about a week later i receive my alternator. everything looks great and im super excited to put it in my car. go to my dads shop to put it in. we start taking out the old one and my dad is telling me that shit aint gonna fit. i just keep telling him dad its made just for my car and engine. so we try to put it in and the post and plug are on top of the alterntor instead of on the front. so the post is poking the intake and there is definitely no way this would work. so i take it out put my stock one back in mad as hell that i spent this money and it doesn't fit. so i call mechman and they tell me to send them pictures of the stock and the mechman alt. so i do and they tell me i can send it back so they can move the post and plug to the front were it was suppose to be the first time. i ask the guy brian i was talking to if i could get a shipping receipt so i wouldn't have to pay for shipping since i shouldn't have too. and he tells me we can send it back for free but you have to send it to us and pay for the shipping. so i get real pissed and he just says thats all we can do for you. so i said whatever and called them again and talked to someone else and i talk to josh and he is real cool trying to help me out. he tells me if i return it with my money and then email him a picture of the receipt they would reimburse me. so im like hell ya i guess things are starting to workout after im about to kill myself cause all the bullshit. so i send it off in about a hour and email him the receipt and tracking number and all he says is wow!! is shouldn't of been that much. it should of been no more then 20 bucks he said. and asked if i had special insurance or anything. i emailed him back saying my mom brought it for me and that was the cheapest they could do. which was 39 bucks. so its today and he still hasnt emailed me back from yesterday. so i email him again. call and couldnt get a hold of him. so now im just sitting here pissed cause i had to pay 40 bucks to ship something back that should of fit in the first place and they wont even give me my money back after they promised to reimburse me since its to expensive to give out shipping labels for free. so im just stuck now waiting to get a email.

one of my e10 died because i was retarded and had it in my trunk in a unfinished box and i had to hit the breaks really hard and it hit against the box and unaligned something to were the suspension wouldn't move at all. it was done after that):

ya really. i have a box for 2 e8v3s 1.2 cubes and that thing is fucking tiny.

.6 cubes at the least i would say. but ya puting that thing in a sealed box you might as well get some pioneers lmao. i had a shitty box for a while for my e10s and i sealed it. it was honestly like i had 2 kicker comps lol. made a box tuned to spec and damn!! also have the e8v3 and i cant imagine those in a sealed box.

Tuning lower won't make the "high bass" sound better. my brother has the same subs and its tuned 32 and it sounds a little better idk. im not a expert but some high notes sound a little cleaner on the 32hz thats all im saying. just the overall sq i would say is better

the e12v2 are suppose to come out pretty soon i hear. so i would deff wait for those.

the sa 10s needs 1 cube to 1.25 cubes. i would range my tuning from 32 to 35 which ever you prefer. but the 32 hz would prob sound the best in my opinion. i have 2 e10 subs in a box tuned to 34 hz and they sound really good but still think 32 makes most of the high bass sound better. i have the cut sheet for my box if your interested. everything is about the same for the e10s and sa10s for box volume.

I've never painted MDF before.. ya dude. when i was gonna first paint it i was gonna spray paint but i build a 12 box and eventually sold it and i painted it with spray paint and it looked like shit hah. so i tried out some old paint from my house. just get a nice roller and like a 15 dollar small can of house paint. i painted my 10 box too it really depends on the person theres really nobody around here who knows the quality and performance of sundown or any real brand. there just like dude my kicker comps hit so hard lmfao! my brother bought a pair of e12s and i had my e8v3 box for sale on craigslist for like 2 months and nobody ever was a series buyer. but im sure plasti dip is gonna look sexy. how big is the box ? Yeah people around here are like I got my stuff at best buy but it bumps.. Bitch please, you ain't even know what bump is. All they care about is booming bass rather than all around quality and it annoys me. Box is 1.35ft^3 tuning to 30hz via 2 3" aeros, I only got a side and a wall up, busy week at work for me so I haven't really had time to finish it, tonight it should be 90~100% done hopefully! hell ya man. people waist there money at walmart and bestbuy when they can buy a 100 dollar sundown sub that will rape any other entry level sub. but ya man keep working hard cant wait to see the finished result.

Kicker ZX750.1, ~900 watts at 2 ohms, I was thinking of 2 of these e8v3's off it. thats a good amp to power those seeing as with voltage and not distorting the amp you would be able to get a clean 600 easily. but i honesty cant see it being that big of a difference compared to a fi sub. i had my e8v3s in my car hooked up to 1000 watts and then i have my e10s hooked up on the daily and they hit so much harder compared to the 8s because they have like doube the air space and more cone area. but what kinda car do you have? because i would recommend getting like a e12 if you have the space. or maybe even a sa 12.
