  1. http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/autotuba.html Great SQ, $35 drivers, and will get a lot louder than you would expect.
  2. no, it dont. going from a rectangular port, to a half rounded port is going to cause issues. Thats like saying your port is 12 inches by 3 inches, then after the bend its 12 inches by 2 inches or 12 inches by 4 inches, its not the same, it will change your square inches of port, and make it very hard to tune to your desired freq. I said if the cross-sectional area is the same.
  3. It really depends on your car. If you can, point it forward and seal it off from the rest of the trunk.
  4. Even nuclear power plants.......... http://www.geekologie.com/2009/02/wait_wha...ar_grade_du.php
  5. Same cross-sectional area = same port velocity regardless of shape (within moderation......)
  6. As long as both parts have the same area you are fine
  7. It really depends on a lot more than just being above 150 but the power really starts adding up when you get that high
  8. The words "max spl" and "premade box" should never be in the same sentence. It all depends on your car, but shouldn't really make a difference.
  9. This one is better http://www.theonion.com/content/video/appl...s_revolutionary
  10. I guess thats one way to keep them from getting stolen.... hahahah
  11. It also depends on the content of the music. Cymbals for example are greatly affected by MP3 compression. Otherwise most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless you are playing at very high volume levels with a nice system.
  12. The first one has the wattage, the second one isn't nearly enough, and the third has no specs.....
  13. I would recommend browse the plans on this site and join the forum to ask your question. The speakers are amazing, you won't be disappointed. http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/
  14. This is pretty amazing. http://www.opb.org/programs/ofg/videos/vie...ric-Drag-Racing
  15. Well there is a lot more to consider, as others have said, about the speaker than just those facts. Both speakers will move the same air mass each at their respective power levels. The second one would have a much higher sensitivity rating. But the other factors to consider are all the other Thiele-Small parameters of each speaker. These parameters will determine what box the speaker will perform best in. So each sub given its optimal box should, in theory, perform the same.
  16. Its called power-compression. As the coil gets hotter the impedance though the speaker increases. This impedance rise means your amp is putting out less power. You can lose over 3 dB from this effect.
  17. Well infinite baffle does not mean that they are not in a box. It would mean they are in a very very large box to mimic a true infinite baffle. In the home you can just put it in the wall so one side is in another room.
  18. I don't see why it would be a problem unless your computer is in the kitchen
  19. Well what are you running now that you want to be louder than?
  20. No bridging is linking 2 channels, parallel and serial are ways to hook subs up to just one channel. Parallel is all positives are connected together, all negatives are connected, and each are connected to their respective input. To get the total impendance you must take the inverse of your ohm loads and add them, then take the inverse again. (1/a + 1/b; if a and b are your two ohm loads, then take the inverse of that answer) Serial is when you hook the positive end of one to the negative end of the other, so on and so forth. You add to get the total impedance.
  21. You should save up and get another t1000k and run 2 Fi Q's In a nice big box the Q's will get very deep and sound great. They will get very loud too, not quite as loud as the BL's or BTL's but they will sound better and deeper.
  22. That would be just right for 2 BL's As for your electrical, do the Big 3, and at least one extra deep cycle battery (yellow top, kinetik, powermaster) Also, it would be a good idea to get a bigger alt but if you have enough batteries and don't play your music for hours straight, you should be fine with a stock alt, as long as it has decent amperage. EDIT: Why are you going with the BL? Do you want SQ or SPL?
