We did a c7 z51 the other day and it says if you're taking it to the track to put 15w50 in it.
5w30 for street use.
Royal purple is over priced garbage.
Mobil 1 5 quart jugs are $22 at Walmart, it's great oil and the price can't be beat.

Oh, some do,
Not all oil is created equal.
I buy the 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 from Walmart and the Mopar oil filter.
Works out to about $30 total per oil change.
And I get the benefit of being able to change it at work, it's nice having access to a pit.

I don't care what a lab says,
Maybe i change it too often but I don't really care,
I'll continue to do it even if a lab says it's still got life left.
And in my caliber the stock engine tolerances are really loose so I get tons of blow by, my oil is pitch black like a diesel truck at 3000 mile intervals.

My computer keeps track of every single oil change, I know when my repeat customers do and don't change their oil or anything else for that matter.
I do this for a living,
And I'm not new to it either.
If it's working for you then by all means do it, I'm just saying that for me personally I would never do it.

I do Mobil 1 every 2.5 to 3k tops.
I do oil changes all day every day, I see what extended intervals do,
I'll pass on that 10k+ craziness.
Also the high cap filters can also cause problems because some of them filter too good and actually restrict the flow of oil.
For someone that doesn't change their own oil and stay on top of checking it to make sure it's full I'd always suggest following the manufacture recommend intervals regardless of what type of oil...

Depends on what type of vehicle it is,
I've done synthetic oil changes on diesel trucks that are damn near $400 all said and done.
The new Chevy trucks and suvs are about $130.

I had a guy try and get me to put cheap ass motor oil in his $100,000 Mercedes because according to him synthetic oil cost too much.
He was pissed when we refused to do it.
