01 S-10
I got some prices before from an authorized AA dealer and the BTL was cheaper than the Havoc he didnt like you then lol. ive been quoted on havocs and they were a good bit cheaper. granted i get a discount but still Never met them before just talked over the phone. I'm sure some people sell them cheaper, but the prices they were quoting me were WAY overpriced. TDH FTW !!!
Guest grim83
First off id measure before buying anything, because im not sure you could fit 4 18's in their with the proper enclosure. As for the enclosure the lower you go with tuning the easier it should be to pull off a hairtrick. For the subs i cant personally say as ive never used the havoc, but I do use a mayhem and from everything else ive seen from AA its a very high quality brand so you should be happy as long as your enclosure is built correctly. bro, he's got a burban, trulywickedcustoms has one with 9 xl 15's in it..he has room for 4 18's without a problem.. not necasarilly hes only talking about pulling out the third row so it really depends on how he wants the box. idk though i could be wrong thats why i asked for measurements to be sure first Thats all that Trulywickeddesigns did too. He still has his 2nd row too. ok let me clarify i didnt follow his build, so idk wtf he did or didnt do, all im saying is this guy needs to be absolutely sure he can fit all of the equipment so he doesnt buy all this stuff and cant fit it in the box design he wants. maybe he wants to be under the window line im not sure he can fit it all in there under the window line. Sir-Lancelot
You will spend as much on your electrical as you will on amps and subs. Be prepared to buy dual alts, 4 g31 bats minimum, and lots of wiring. Adding that up on the cheap you are looking at over $2000.00. Since you are cutting costs on equipment before you start, why not go for lower power and more cone area? I will need that much electrical for 4 Havocs? It's not so much that I'm wanting to cut costs, if that's what it takes then I will make it happen. Please don't think I'm trying to build a monster system on a fantasy budget cause that's NOT what I wanna do. I wanna build a respectable system. If it means using that much electrical to do it then I will. I was looking at the Havocs cause they are lower power than the btl's and figured it would give me a good start to a bigger build in the future. But I'm new to this high end stuff so I'm trying to learn all I can about it before I make a plunge. You will need that electrical for 2 3500w amps. I personally think you are over your head if you don't know this. Not throwing stones, just saying. I don't like to see anyone waste a bunch of money and break stuff. 2001 Yukon XL Sitting on 35 x 12.50 x 20, XD Monsters Headunit: Clarion DXZ785USB Front: B&C 10NW64 10" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Rear: B&C 8NDL51 8" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Mids & Highs Amps: MB Quart DSC 4125, MB Quart DSC 480 Subs: 4 18" SSA ZCONS Sub Amps: 4 GP3K Pro Electrical: Iraggi 260a, 3 tejcurrent 240a, tejcurrent quad bracket Kinetik - 6 HC2400 My Build Log
sprkn_ranger
Thanks for the info sir-lancelot. And I appreciate the heads up on the electrical. Like I said, I'm a noob when it comes to high end/high power systems. I'm trying to learn everything I can. Believe me when I say I am NOT in over my head. I know exactly what I'm getting into and willing to accept change in plans and budget if thats what it takes. Im not going to drop any cash until I know EVERYTHING it takes to make it happen. Here is another question I have, if I did start off with 2 18" BTL's and 2 AQ3500's and later double all of it, does the electrical have to be doubled as well? That's just it Bro, the problem is not with the amount of subs you run, you could run a hundred subs.......the problem is 2 3500w amps is going to draw a shit ton of current and you better have the power on hand to give them or you will see smoke. 2001 Yukon XL Sitting on 35 x 12.50 x 20, XD Monsters Headunit: Clarion DXZ785USB Front: B&C 10NW64 10" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Rear: B&C 8NDL51 8" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Mids & Highs Amps: MB Quart DSC 4125, MB Quart DSC 480 Subs: 4 18" SSA ZCONS Sub Amps: 4 GP3K Pro Electrical: Iraggi 260a, 3 tejcurrent 240a, tejcurrent quad bracket Kinetik - 6 HC2400 My Build Log
RAM_Designs
Go with six or eight sealed 15's instead. Don't see that very much anymore... I understand that 2 3500w amps are gonna take alot of current, I get that. I also understand the amount of subs I run isnt relevant to the size of the electrical system. My question is that if I double my setup from 2 3500w amps to 4 3500w amps. Does that require double the battery's and double the current rating from the alternators? I imagine that is how it works but I'm not 100% on that. sprkn_ranger
Well thanks for all the input guys, it really opened up my eyes and gave me quite a bit to think about and research. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions. Thanks again!
