I've received all my materials, just waiting on my dad at this point. With this technically being his vehicle (still in his name, but it's mine.. haha) I can't really do anything without him.

Here's something I meant to ask though... Do I need a fuse between the alt and battery when I do the Big 3?

One tutorial said I do, the other said I don't...

If I do, what size fuse do I put?

It all depends. As of right now, I'm not very pleased with the turn out of the box.

I recently applied for a job, and supposedly I have a very high chance of getting it. Starts at about $9 an hour, with almost 40 hours a week.

If I get the job, I'll be rebuilding.

If I don't get the job, I'll be scratching together cash to get it wrapped in vinyl to make my seats, or if I can't get enough money by the end of the year, I'll just take some paint to it that matches my carpet.

And with that being said, this post will have the plans in it.

(Updating this post soon with more info)

With no measurement, pictures, or visuals, here's what I hope to to:

New headunit. Flip out DVD player, still searching for a "cheap" but "good" one.

DC 1.2k

15" DC Level 3 (x2)

DC 175.4 (x2)

Rockford Fosgate speakers (x4 sets)

Front/Rear/Dash and custom pods somewhere in the rear

0awg power/ground from Knu

Upgraded battery up front +1 in the rear (undecided on those)

DC Alternator

SecondSkin (hopefully... This rattle is killing me)

Again, this is assuming I get the job.

Here's the plan as of now.

-------BOX------

Box Height: 17''

Box Width: 38''

Box Depth: 26''

-------PORT------

Port Height: 15.5''

Port Width: 4''

Port Length: 15''

Port Volume: 1.14 ft³

Port Area Per Cubic Foot: 10.26 in²

Port Area: 62.00 in²

Sub Displacement: .34 ft³

Bracing Displacement: .5 ft³

Gross Volume: 8.02 ft³

Net Volume: 6.04 ft³

Tuning Frequency: 34.31 Hz

Does that sound alright? Does .5 ft³ sound like too much/not enough for bracing? I completely guessed on that, honestly.

Anyway, still waiting to hear back from the job I applied for. I'm pretty much guaranteed the job, so if I some how don't get it, I quit... hahaha

I usually figure .1-.2 for bracing using 1.25" dowels. I'd try to squeeze out a little more port area personally, I'd plot it to see how the port velocity looks but I'm not on my computer. In my head I'm thinking around 14in^2 or so, then again I don't have a tremendous amount of experience with Lvl3's so maybe someone with more can chime in.

Alright, I'll redo it with about .1 or .2 for bracing and see if I can squeeze in some more port. I went ahead and designed this in sketchup, and I found that the way I wanted to do the port made it almost impossible to position the subs in as well (hard to explain, I'll post an image later if you want)

Alright, here's my newest one.

Box: 38x34x16

Port: 32.5x3x35

Port Volume: 4.37 ft³

Port Area Per Cubic Foot: 19.16 in²

Port Area: 97.50 in²

Sub Displacement: .34 ft³

Bracing Displacement: .15 ft³ (Still guessing on this.)

Gross Volume: 9.95 ft³

Net Volume: 5.09 ft³

Tuning Frequency: 33.99 Hz

Does this bracing look sufficient?
