Team Nemesis Steve
Just depends on how well the AC is calibrated. It can easily be 10db if they want it to be. That's true. Back in 08'-09' I was doing a 153 on the Term-Lab and when I went to an event that was using the AC Meter, I ended up doing a 160+. Not too long ago in 2010 at the Joshua Sparks Benefit I did a 157.5 on the Term Lab for NSPL and In IASCA with the AC Meter did a 158.
meade916
you guys who saw 6db or more from the AC meter, are you sure you are talking about the AC190 SENSOR mic and not the old wand-style? I to tried the 190 back when i went to West Coast Customs back in 05 i think it was and it was .1db off from the TL, side by side. the OLDER AC mics could be one thing today and another tomorrow but i think AC's new 190 sensors are pretty much on point All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! fecupe2001
that´s right mr. Meade, they MUST be talking about the old AC mic, before this testing we tried out the old mic and it was about 5 dbs more than the TL and AC sensor, this is the best and most real testing i could do to show people the true difference between both sensors!!! Once again, if the AC is sent to Audiocontrol and gets the upgrade done for the sensor aplication, it´s the exact same number or 0.1 -0.2 dbs difference with the termlab!! Autruche
hehe no worries man, besides that, my mids and highs SUCK so it wouldn´t be too much of a difference using the mic hahahaha Yeah my mids and highs suck too, but my bass is fuckin nuts! Interesting thread though. It's about time they got the AC to be more accurate. I'd still only use the TL though, but not everyone is willing to spend the money to get the right stuff. Then again, you'll probably need access to a TL to tune your AC anyways, lol. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
