Scrapmanson Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 I've decided to do a blow through in my 04 silverado crew cab, there just wasn't enough room to get big bass in there! So I'm trying to figure out the best box design for my set up. I have 2 sa12's and gonna run them of of the 1200d. Ive seen a few different ways to do this so I'm a little confused on which route to go? I've seen were people just do a ported box and cut a huge hole with the speakers and port right at the back wall, and then I've seen a small hole just with a port through it! For what I have which will beat the best? I have dimensions if anyone wants to help me out with a box design? Not sure if I should face the speakers towards the tailgate then have a channel for them to come through the wall, or face each other with a channel, or just put them facing in the cab at the wall? Please help me decide my speakers are comn this week and I want to get going on this! Also is 33 hrtz good for this set up? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
RAM_Designs Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 The setup you're referring to with just a port coming through is called a 4th order bandpass. In that situation all of the sound is coming out of the port so it's perfectly fine to have 'just the port' firing into the cab. Cashdollar2009 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 You're looking to spend money on a design sir. A 4th order bandpass isn't an overnight design/build. On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. Electrical energy is not.
